Got butter?

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope you plan on having a wonderful weekend this weekend. It seems that after a long weekend I need another weekend just so much more. My boys are being boys and just driving me crazy. I love them to death but some days it feels like they are trying to accomplish that task :)

Today I have some more non-craft stuff to show you. I don't know if you remember me saying that I went over to my friends house earlier this week to learn how to make jam...but she also showed me how to make butter. How cool is that? Of course I had to run to the store the next time for some essential items and had to get the whipping cream to try some butter on my own.

Last night I finally used that whipping cream to make my own butter. It is so rewarding knowing that your the one that made this food for your family. My husband informed me that it is the same feeling after you have been hunting and you have the meat you got from the animal on your table feeding your family :)

I am planning on making some bread today. I have made bread myself before so that isn't a big deal to me but I figured since I am in the mindset and we just ate the last of the two loaves of bread we bought last week that I might as well make it instead of running to the store again.

Oh, and to let you know I don't store my butter like in the picture hehehe :D I just wanted to "stage" it for a nice picture.

Have a great weekend!!!

Jam or Jelly/Jelly or Jam

Sorry this post is a little late today. I actually didn't get to do any crafting until later this morning. And it too a while to figure out what I want to do.

There are some sisters in my church that I visit once a month. It is actually a "job" that we all have. It is a really awesome system and there have been times that I wouldn't know where I would be if it wasn't for this program. Actually, I would be going to church if it wasn't for a lady that was assigned to visit me while we lived in Alaska. I don't know what I would have done while we are out there.

We have been discussing food storage a lot lately. That is why I learned how to make freezer jam as it is called. They call it that because you can store it in the freezer for a while before you are ready to use it.

Well, a friend of mine, Michelle, offered to teach me how to make the jam that you can in a jar and it can stay safely on a shelf until you are ready to use (well at least a few years hehehe). While I was there she even showed me how to make butter. It was a fun time full of learning. I already bought some whipping cream to make the butter. I just have to do it.

Anyway, since she is moving in a few weeks (around 6 to be exact) she suggested we give some of the jars to the ladies that we visit. So, I set out to make tags for those jars. I took a message that I heard in our General Conference last month. It hit me pretty good. I did cut half of it out though, just to make room and I thought it made sense without it too.

I hope you like it.

5 years

Hello everyone!!! Happy Wednesday!!! I almost typed Tuesday. This weeks is going to go so fast. So much to do and not much time to do it.

Today I am sharing a project with you that I made for my niece. Time has gotten away from me again. I knew I had time to make a card but then I realized that I have no idea what to get her for her birthday. I was talking to my sister and she told that she sent our niece a gift card last time because she likes to shop. What girl doesn't, right?

Me being the kind of person I am I couldn't just throw the gift card in the birthday card so I went to work trying to decide how I was going to package it. That is when I remembered the latest Lauren's My Timeless Template; ready, set, wrap. What a great way to package a gift card for a girl who is turning 5. Plus, to me it looks like a little purse and what girl doesn't like purses?

I used Aqua Mist because my niece's favorite color is blue. I love the colors and how it turned out. Can you believe that all the cardstock is scraps? I finally went through my scrap box and get rid of a lot of pieces I would NEVER be able to use. It is so much nicer now and maybe I will use more of it now that I know it is in there :)

I got to snap a picture of the inside with the cork bottom but my camera batteries died right afterwards. Looks like I will be charging more batteries today.

Deets:
stamps: PTI floral frenzy, polka dot basics
ink: Versamark and Archival Brilliance Moonlight White
paper: PTI jet black, aqua mist and I used cork for the bottom of the box
ribbon: Michael's twill white
buttons: grab back from Wal-Mart
linen thread from SU!, the flower I got from Michael's, The letter is actually chipboard I got a long time ago and it was inked with aqua mist ink and then covered with crystal stickles.

That is about it. I hope you enjoyed it.

Lemon Tart

*Second post for the day*
Happy Memorial Day everyone!!! I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Day and remembering those who fought and lost their lives for our freedoms.

We just decided to have a bar-b-cue with my family. That is the nice thing about family being so close. We can do last minute stuff together. It is so nice.

Well, it is time again for another Papertrey Ink blog hop. They are so much fun and the people at Papertrey and all the customers and just so great and friendly. Of course that can be said for all involved in the paper crafts. I am so happy to be apart of this great hobby :)

The challenge for this month's blog hop was to use yellow, anything, just a summery project. I wasn't sure what to do or if I was going to participate but then I woke up this morning with this idea.

I was trying to make a scene and the yellow background is the sun shining and the flowers blooming in the corner. The spring moss at the bottom is supposed to be grass.

I am pleased with it and had fun creating it. Have fun enjoying all the rest of the posts.

Dyno-mite

Just a quick little post for now. I will be back later for the Papertrey Ink blog hop. I hope you guys get a chance to join in on the fun too.

I just have to say first off. Am I the only one that thinks of the Jefferson's and J.J. when you here that (Dino-mite)? I am probably showing off my age now. I used to love those shows. I wish they still had some of the family shows on TV now instead of what they are showing now. I feel like I can't let my kids watch anything anymore.

The card was made using a new OCL (Our Craft Lounge) stamp. This is from the set that I won during their blog hop. They are so much fun to color.

This card also covers two challenges. The first is over at A Spoon Full of Sugar. They are celebrating their first birthday so the challenge over there is to create anything for a celebration. This card is for a boys birthday.

The second challenge is a sketch over at Friday Sketchers. I love this sketch. It was so much fun. I didn't intentionally plan on having the second square overlap the card base but it happened and I love how it turned out.

I am going to go now and if you want the deets than please email me your questions.

It's time for Dodger Baseball...

Hello everyone!!! I certainly hope you are all having a wonderful LONG weekend. We still have one more day to relax and enjoy family and friends. I am popping in just for a few to overload you guys with some pictures from the baseball game yesterday.

It was a very well played game, until the end. The game actually went into extra innings. 10 innings to be exact. By that time my boys had more than had their fill. I did bring their sweaters but can you believe, I left them in the truck. It did get chilly out there so it was rough for them.

When we went into extra innings and seeing how the boys were handling I just hoped that it wold end and at that point I didn't really care who. It was the Dodgers who "won" it. I say it like that because in my opinion the Dodgers didn't win it, the Angels lost the game. Our relief pitching was horrible and the winning run was walked in. Can you believe that? It was awful. Those Dodger fans can be relentless. Also, there was an Angels fan near us that we will just say had too many drinks. I was afraid a fight was going to start and we would have to get the boys out of there, quick. But it didn't and for that I was grateful.

Now, for the overload of pictures.

I should have 2 posts for you tomorrow. I have a card I made for 2 challenges and I am hoping to have something done for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop as well.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Memorial Weekend

It is Saturday and I am posting!!! Can you believe it? I just wanted to take a moment and thank all those who have served and are serving in the military. Those who sacrificed their lives to allow the rest of us to enjoy the freedoms they so valiantly fought for.
We, as Americans, live in a great country that allow us so many freedoms in our lives. Those freedoms would not exist if it wasn't for those who chose to become a service member.
THANK YOU!!!
I also wanted to direct you to Lauren's blog where she is participating in a blog hop. I have heard of this great service but have yet to help out, for which I am ashamed. I have planned to but just haven't done it. There is never a bad time to start. I hope that you too can help them out. Every little bit helps when you are a lifetime away from family.
Have a great weekend!!!
I will have something to show you tomorrow as well and I will hopefully be participating in the Papertrey Ink blog hop on Monday so please check in.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...

Yeah!!! It's Friday!!! Today is actually the start of our weekend. My hubby got a "Family Day" which means we have a wonderful 4 day weekend. I am so grateful sometimes for the few perks we get as a military family.

I promised a gable box and it is a gable box you will get. In fact, I will do you one more, okay 2 more. There are 3 gable boxes. I actually made 4 but I only took a picture of 3 because that is all I had finished before I had to leave for the party.

I don't know if you remember this post but it is the same thing, just changed up the embellishments. I am pleased with how it turned out. I just wish I had more time to think about how I was going to embellish it but it went over fairly well.

I am going to make this short. Lots to do and not a lot of time, as usual.

I realized too that this box qualifies for the newest Whimsy challenge. The challenge was to use flowers on your project. They have changed their rules too so go by and check it out, even if you don't have Whimsy stamps yet *wink*

Deets:
stamps: PTI polka dot basics, Whimsy Baseball Connor
ink: PTI summer sunrise, staz-on jet black
paper: PTI kraft, vintage cream, black; Joann's orange
Queen & Co., brads, Making Memories "Chloe's Closet" buttons, SU! linen thread, detail silver embossing powder for the bat, Micheal's cream twill ribbon, crop-a-dile eyelets, I can't remember where the flower came from.

I think that is everything. I hope you enjoy the eye candy. Have a great weekend. I may or may not be back on Monday depends on the weekend.

I do have something I started. I didn't mention it but Our Craft Lounge was doing a blog hop for all the sets they were putting out for the summer. With every blog there was a giveaway of one of the stamp sets. Well, I actually one of the new sets and I was so excited too. I am not going to mention which one but they are so fun to color. I hope to have some stamp time on Sunday and I can get you some new stamp eye candy for Monday.

Jelly and pizza

Hello everyone!!! What a day I had yesterday. It was a crazy morning and was supposed to be a crazy night, it was, but it was awesome.

Tuesday I went over to a friends house and learned how to make jelly. I was so excited to make some of my own and since we had to do some grocery shopping Tuesday night I got some strawberries and everything else you need and got started yesterday. I cannot wait to try it. I hope it turned out okay. I know that the jam we made at my friends house turned out beautifully and I cannot get enough. Here is a pick of what it looks like.

Wednesday night we also had my son's end-of-the-year team party. It is kinda sad and I cannot believe it is already here. Their last game is tonight so I am kinda sad. I am going to be sure and bring the video camera for this one.

At the party his coach handed out trophies that she got the kids. We also had pizza and there were cupcakes for all the kids as well. It was a great time to relax and enjoy some down town with the team.
That is about it I got for now. Tomorrow I am going to show you the gable boxes I made for the teach coaches. I think they turned out great and they seemed to like them.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Knock, knock

Hey guys!!! It is Wednesday. The weekend is almost here. I hope you are all having a great week. I cannot wait until the weekend. We have a wonderful Saturday planned. If you haven't guessed my family is a baseball family. From April to October we have baseball on the TV as much as there is baseball on the TV.

Last year we had the privilege of watching the Anaheim Angels play the New York Yankees (my husbands favorite team). It was awesome and I loved going back to the stadium and seeing all the changes they had done to the stadium since I had been there.

On Saturday my family and my sister and her family will be going to another baseball game. This time we are taking our boys to go watch the game as well. I sure hope that they can behave for the entire game. I am a little concerned about that. They have been to a few minor league games but that is nothing. Saturday we will be going to the Los Angeles Dodgers game they will be playing the Anaheim Angels.

I have not been to the Dodgers stadium since I was in elementary school probably. It has been a LONG time. The funny thing is, my sister and her family are Dodgers fans. My husband is rooting for the Dodgers because they now have Joe Torre and Don Mattingly as coaches. My boys are following their dad's lead so they are going to watch the Dodgers play. Me, well, I am still a Angels fan at heart. Everyone will be wearing their Dodgers gear and I will be the lonely ol' Angels fan in the group. Pray that the Angels win so I don't look like an idiot hehehe.

So today I have an different kind of project for you. My sister and I took a quick trip to Michael's on Saturday while we were visiting because I had a coupon. I found these door knob hangers in the dollar section and thought they would be fun to alter.

When I sat down at my desk last night to create I was trying to figure out what to do. I didn't feel up to doing another card so I got to looking around and saw these hangers.

I grabbed some PP that I haven't played with and have had forever and got to work. I thought it would be cute to do something a little funny. I just love how it turned out and I can see making a lot more of these.

Deets:

stamps: PTI boxes, bags & tags

ink: PTI sweet blush

paper: $1 paper at Target, PTI sweet blush

Prima flowers, Queen & Co. brad, Michael's and wal-mart ribbon, Oriental Trading Post clip, and self-adhesive pearls. I typed the saying in Microsoft Word and printed it on printer paper.

3rd note card for set

Well, good Tuesday everyone!!! What a crazy day it was here yesterday. I woke up to some dreary skies and high temperatures. My oldest had his second to last t-ball game of the season but by the time the afternoon rolled around I was wondering if that game was going to take place. The winds started sailing through the trees and knocking things around. Then it started to drizzle. I called my husband to see if he had heard anything about the game because one of his co-workers is my son's coach, nothing yet.

It wasn't until a little later that I get a call from my husband. I looked out the window and saw the rain coming down and just knew that they had cancelled the game. I went to tell my son. I told him since it was raining outside his game was cancelled. he looked straight at me, put his arms out and said, "I know". How did he know? He is just too cute and cracks me up everyday.

Well, 4ish rolled around and the winds calmed down to a light breeze and the rain had stopped. His game wouldn't have started until 5pm. His game was basically cancelled for no reason. Yeah, the field would have been wet and slippery but what 5 year olds would not want to get dirty? I know both of my boys would have thought that to be the highlight of their day.

So, last night I sat down to finish a name plate I had started for my newest nephew. I took out the rub-on letters I had bought specifically for it and then realized that the package may only contain one of each letter, his name has 2 "L's" in it. Yep, sure enough, only one "L". So now what?

Well, I had started making note cards a while back to make a set for something, maybe sell, I have no idea. Only two cards isn't going to do it so I set out to make another. I ended up using a different color than aqua mist because I wanted to use only scraps. This is the card I came up with. I was hoping for more of a garden look to it but I am pleasantly happy with the finished product. This is another 3X3 card.

Deets:

stamps: PTI little lady

ink: Tim Holtz distress ink-tea dye, PTI spring moss

paper: PTI spring moss, kraft, chocolate remix pp

flowers are prima, brad is from Joann's, buttons are from wal-mart and Making Memories-Chloe's closet, linen thread from SU!

Demure

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was crazy and relaxing. Saturday we had a full day and it ended with a date night to see my niece play in "Annie". Her school was putting on the production and she played many parts but her main art was "Duffy" one of the orphans. When I saw her on stage I had to stop myself from crying. I was just so proud of her and all that she has accomplished in her 13 years. It just amazes me how time goes on and things change. I still think of her as a little girl no bigger than my boys' ages.

Sunday was a day of relaxing and enjoying the company of my family. Since we got home so late Saturday night it would have been to crazy to get up and go to Stake Conference. Where we have to go for Conference it is a 45+ minute drive instead of about 20-30 min drive to our church building.

Anyway, on to my card. I didn't know what I wanted to do to show everyone today. I have been working on something else but I am not finished so I wanted to do a card so I had some eye candy for all my 3 loyal fans hehehe.

I figured I would use a new stamp that I got when I ordered my mom's mother's day stamp. There was an accident that caused me to get a different stamp than what I ordered but they were the same price and the company hasn't contacted me yet saying they wanted me to send it back so I inked it up. She is beautiful and the stamp is called "Demure".

Now, since I was at a loss for what to make besised the stamp I used I went in search for a sketch to use and make things as easy as possible for me. I remember CPS (Card Positioning Systems) and went to work on the awesome stamp. Their sponsor this week is Stamping Bella.

I also got to do some shopping at Michael's and I just happened upon some paper that is so me. I didn't hesitate to get it and I usual hesitate for everything. Now, I am can't be sure where the aper is from. It just says ancestry.com and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I want to also mention. While I was looking around for a sketch to use I came across copic challenge blog and the challenge was to color blonde hair. Since I was planning on using "Demure" anyway I decided to just color her hair blonde. I love it.

Here are the deets:

stamps: PTI silent night, Sweet art ebony-demure

ink: Tim holtz distress ink-tea dye, staz-on jhet black

paper: PTI aqua mist, vintage cream, kraft, ancestry.com

buttons are from Michael's "Dress it up", spica glitter pens for highlighs, colored with copic markers.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy

P.S. I also wanted to inform you on some info that I found out. It turns out that the resmith that won my blog candy is my Mom. I cannot believe I didn't realize that. But now she has just started her own blog. She just put a beautiful card on there for my niece. Go here to enjoy some wonderful eye candy.

Lauren's template

Well good morning everyone!!! It's Friday, it's Friday, it's Friday!!! Too funny, I used to hear that on the radio every morning when I was delivering the paper. I loved it.

Today I am sharing another one of Lauren's templates that I haven't used before. It is rounded wrap-up. The plan was to use it for either a gift for my son for finishing T-ball (his last game is next Friday already) or for the coaches. But after I got it printed and saw how small it was it wasn't going to work with my Baseball Connor from Whimsy stamps.

My niece is in a play at her school and we are planning on going to watch it tomorrow night. What does this have to do with the project you might ask? Well, I thought it would be cute to make a holder to put in the box and put some lip gloss in there for her as a gift. So, I got to work and this is what I came up with. I love it and hope she does too. I am sure my sister might want to still it though since it is pink hehehe.

I just realized something that is kinda upsetting to me. I have no idea what my nieces favorite color is. I need to find that out tomorrow when I see her.

Here are the deets:

stamps: Autumn Leaves (pretty poppies), PTI Ambassador Monogram Edition
ink: versamark, palette black
paper: PTI kraft, sweet blush, DCWV Nana's Nursery
prima flowers, Michael's ribbon, self-adhesive pearls, Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

That is about it. Have a wonderful weekend!!!

My Mom's Mother's Day

Happy Thursday everyone!!! I hope you are all having a great week. Mine is starting to go back to normal. I am just so excited about everything that is going on. Nothing special but I decided to have a good out look on things. I am currently working on being a better mother to my boys. They have gotten less than they deserve from me because of my hobby. I have decided that they came to my house for a reason and they do not deserve the lack of attention they have been getting.

I have been thinking about this stuff a lot and have read a book called "Eternal Families" that has helped me realize that some of the attention I have been giving my boys. I don't know if you are a TV watcher or not but sometimes I catch "Dr. Phil". Right now he is doing a series about learning how to be a better parent. I caught a few minutes of it on Tuesday and it hurt me to see how other kids are treated or act. I am dedicating myself to making my home full of laughs and happy moments and less stressful. But you didn't come to my blog to hear about my goals as a mother.

Speaking of Mother's...I am slacking on a few things. I realized yesterday after posting my Kayleigh/sketch post that I haven't showed you something I made for my mom for Mother's Day.

Remember the card here. Well, I added a few rhinestones to the butterflies and put a sentiment on it and gave it to my mom for Mother's Day. I did mention that I also gave her a stamp that I bought for her and she had been wanting for a while. But I also made a bookmark for her like I made for my Mother-in-law.

I don't remember what the supplies were so if you have a question than please email me and I will see what I can do.

Baby Kayleigh/Friday Sketchers challenge

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I am so utterly confused on what day of the week it is anymore. Last Thursday my hubby had off so we could enroll my oldest in kindergarten. Let's just say I am SOOO not looking forward to August 17th.

Friday he had to take off because he had a doctors appointment that was "in town" so took most of the morning and into the afternoon just to accomplish. Monday he was gone all day because of the filming of the movie. Yesterday he had off because he was on call for the movie.

I think he got sick of us yesterday because today he decided to go into work and wait for a call from someone to do with the film. I am still trying to decide if I should take offense to it or not :)

Today I have a card I made using a digi-image. I mentioned it before on my blog. I was having a little issues crafting yesterday because of yet another headache (seriously the heat is really getting to me here). I figured what better way to get some ideas flowing then to find a sketch that someone else came up with. Where do you go to find a sketch? Well, lots of places but I went to Friday Sketchers and thought I might as well play along with a challenge while I am at it, right?

The image is called "A Fairy for Kayleigh" and I bought it from Paper Makeup Stamps. The proceeds of the purchase of this digi-image go to a family who has gone through a lot in almost a years time. Kayleigh was born about 3 months early and has had many surgeries. On the 11th of this month she lost her battle here on earth and is now running around and having fun with her Father in Heaven. It is a very sad story but now she doesn't have to suffer anymore. My heart goes out to her parents and hope that they can find peace in this terrible time.

This card seemed to come together so easily and I couldn't get a bad picture of it. I think it is lovely and it is fitting that things came together so smoothly.

Here are the deets:

stamps: digi-stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps "A Fairly for Kayleigh"

ink: palette brown, PTI lavender moon

paper: PTI vintage cream, chocolate remix PP, DCWV latte and brown, me & my big ideas

prima flowers, joann's brads, kaiser self-adhesive rhinestones, and the image was colored using copic markers.

Another note card

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I hope you are having a good week so far. I have to tell you. Thank goodness I had a note card almost done so I could have something to show you today.

So, where we are at there is a lot of movies filmed here on the base. And most of them they ask for military members to be extras in those movies. Right now they are filming Ironman 2 here. My hubby went to the "audition" to be an extra in the movie. They wanted him!!! We are so excited but yesterday he had a full 13 hour day. He didn't get to see any of the "major" stars but did get to meet with some. The director, and a few others. He was really excited. So, if you remember to watch the movie next summer look for my hubby in coveralls hehehe

With that being said, I didn't have a whole lot of time to play around with my new adhesive gun. But I did finish the note card that I mentioned yesterday. I added more to it than planned but I love how it turned out. I am going to make a couple more so I have a "set" of notecards to use for something. Not sure what for yet.

Deets:

stamps: PTI life; boxes, bags & tags, paper tray

ink: versamark, palette dark brown

paper: cork board, PTI dark chocolate, aqua mist, and kraft

ribbon: PTI aqua mist

prima flowers, joann's brads, chloe's closet button from making memories, linen thread, and ek success border punch.

Mother's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I feel sorry for my hubby. I woke up with a migraine and it was one of those migraines that made me feel sick and just plain horrible. I was moody the whole day. But I stuck it out. We had church and my son was supposed to speak in Primary but refused to. I had to teach a class in Relief Society and was excited to but nervous because I was afraid I was either going to get sick right there or that I was gong to pass out. But I think it went well. I am just glad that it is gone and I am back to normal.

I think my headaches have a lot to do with the heat here. I was talking to my Grandma on Saturday and she said it seemed like it was cold one day and then 90 degree weather the next. That is almost the truth. We did have a few hot days in between but for the most part it was cold and then HOT. I gotta make sure I drink LOTS of water since I am no longer used to this heat.

So, Saturday we got to spend the day with my parents, sister and her family. It was wonderful but busy crazy. We went out to lunch and my sister and I gave our mom her Mother's Day gift. I was so excited to give her her present because it was stamp she has been wanting for a long time. You can find it here.

My husband was wonderful yesterday. Since he knew I had a headache he gave me my Mother's Day present before church. A heating pad like the one that got burnt in the microwave when I threw my back out in January. It worked wonders for my headache. It has this wonderful aroma that just soothes my pain.

And the best thing is this. So, I am very cheap. Probably one of the cheapest people you may run into. I love the ATG gun that my sister loves but cannot bring myself to spending the money for it. Then my mom showed me an adhesive gun that she got for a fraction of the price. I liked it but didn't say much about it. But after making all those bookmarks for the ladies at church I would have loved to have one. So, I asked my mo where she got it and mentioned it to my hubby. He is so good about listening to what I say (well sometimes) and I got it. I am so happy and cannot wait to play with it. See, since I had a migraine yesterday I wasn't able to play but you better believe I am going to today.

So, be sure to come back tomorrow and see the goodies I was able to make with it. I do have a notecard that is almost finished so I will be sure have that to post tomorrow. See you then.

A Happy Thursday everyone!!! It has been nice here. Sun shining, birds chirping, the wind has calmed down and we got to see a great game of T-ball last night. My son did great and his team as well. There are so many talented little boys and girls on this base. I am so glad that we are able to enjoy this experience with family.

Since I had my son's game and didn't get anything ready to show you today I decided what a better time to offer up some goodies.

I haven't done this before so I am nervous and excited all at the same time. Nothing special for this one. Just leave a comment and be sure to tell some of your friends to make it more exciting. Here is what I am offering.

textured cardstock from Target (about 80 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 inch sheets)

Joann's Scrap Essentials Shaped Bubbles (28 in all)

Chipboard stickers of the barnyard pals variety (9 pieces in all from Michaels)

Target's $1 section alphabet stamp set (roughly 1/4 inch and I am guessing on that)

plus an envelope stamp from Canadian Maple Collections (I got this one from A.C. Moore when visiting my in-laws last year)

To make it fun and suspenseful I will leave this contest open until next Friday, May 8th. Like I said, just leave a comment on this post. I don't care what kind of comment, anything. Also be sure to tell those you know. It is always more fun the more people that enter.

Good luck!!!

Notecards

Happy Friday!!! I am doing the happy dance. I am so excited to have Friday here. This weekend is going to be awesome. Saturday I get to go visit family and have lunch with my parents and my sister and her family. What a great way to celebrate Mother's Day, right?

Today I have a notecard for you. This card also fits the bill for 2 challenges. One is for Caardvarks. the challenge there is to use a verse or quote on your project. The second is for A Spoon Full of Sugar. Their challenge is "touchy feely" that means that want to see some texture on your project.

This card was a fun one to make. It is a small notecard 3" X 3". There really isn't much else to say so I am going to stop now.

Today is the last day to enter my blog candy. I will be back tomorrow morning to post the winner.

stamps: PTI guide lines, out on a limb sentiments

ink: versamark and palette black, aqua mist

paper: PTI aqua mist, dark chocolate, kraft

Simple post/Simple card

Hello everyone!!! I don't have much to say. It is a heck of a week and I woke up thinking it should be Friday. But then my brain woke up some and realized it is only Wednesday. I need the weekend as much as I need the sun. Thank goodness we have a beautiful day today. The sun is shining and the wind is barely blowing. In the desert, that is about all you can ask for. And trust me, I am so grateful for it. My oldest has t-ball practice tonight and then from there we head to church for cub scouts (my hubby is a den leader) and I have a meeting with the new primary presidency. I am excited to be able to work with the wonderful ladies we have now. But I am going to miss the other wonderful ladies I was working with :)

Today I have a card I made within minutes. I put the boys to bed and wanted to put something together but didn't know what. This one kinda just made itself. I love those. It is missing a sentiment that I will put above the bow. I just don't know what sentiment to use yet.

So, I will leave you with the deets and that is that.

stamps: PTI background basics: spots & dots

ink: versamark, tim holtz distress ink in tea dye

twill ribbon from Michael's, prima flower that was pink and colored with a red copic, self-adhesive rhinestone I won and corkboard butterflies punched with Martha Stewarts punch. The corkboard is also the same that Dawn Mcvey mentioned on her blog.

That is it. I hope you like it. I know I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Mother's Day card

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I hope your Monday was better than mine. I am not going into details. I am just glad it is over and we have a new day to start over and begin afresh.

Today I am showing you the card that I made for my mother-in-law that I promised you yesterday. It is very easy and a basic design. I basically used the same sketch from "The Pink Elephant" challenge.

Since I went through details of the bookmark I am not going to get all talkative on you today.

Here are the deets for the card:

stamps: PTI background basics: spots and dots

paper: PTI vintage cream and vellum cardstock

ink: PTI lemon tart and lavender moon

I also used the same jewelry string to tie the book mark to the card.

Check here for the details of the bookmark.

Mother's Day

Happy Monday all!!! I had a very productive weekend. Lots to do and lots got done. We actually do our grocery shopping as a family and we managed to sneak that in on Saturday so one less thing that needs to get done sometime this week. I feel so good about getting so much done that I was kinda glad to have a day to relax yesterday.

I tend not to like lazy days. Those kinda days really make me lazy, I veg and watch TV and do NOTHING!!! For some reason those kinds of days give me a headache. It didn't help that yesterday was also a very emotional day for me. I tend to sway away from change and there was a lot of change at church yesterday. It is not that I am unhappy with the change. Well, I am in a way, one of the families that my husband and I work closely with are being transferred and their last day was yesterday. But with this move brings new experiences and I am sure new joys and friendships.

Okay so we all know that Mother's Day is coming up. I thought I had a LOT more time than this to be quite frank. But I made it easy on myself. My hubby wanted to send him mom flowers at work so I didn't really have to do anything for her but make a card. I couldn't just make a card though. I saw something I had to try on a blog I visit. The blog is called Pickled Paper Designs and Amy Sheffer is the one that authors it. I saw a post that she did for Verve stamps and just loved this idea. My mother-in-law reads, granted I don't know how much in the recent days, so I decided to try this out with her. I plan to make this bookmark into a card. I will share that with you tomorrow.

With this bookmark I started out with a square coaster that I cut into a 2 1/2" X 4" rectangle. I used tombo multi glue to cover the coaster with some PP I got at Target.

What is kinda hard to see is that I took my Life stamp set from PTI and stamped some flowers on the vellum cardstock in lavender moon and lemon tart.

I first used stark yellow button on this bookmark but just didn't really like it. I planned to start from scratch to make one I liked better. I am banking on the fact that yellow is her favorite color but didn't want to use JUST yellow so I paired it with purple (yeah, I like purple so much I have to find an excuse to put it on every project).

Instead of starting over to make some new I just changed the buttons. These buttons are making memories "chloe's closet" buttons I got at Michael's and are cream in color but work so well with this rest of the look.

deets:
stamps: PTI life, Autumn leaves pretty poppies
ink: PTI lavender moon, lemon tart, palette black
paper: PTI lavender moon, vellum, Target $1 spot PP
prima flower colored with a copic marker, joann's flower brad, self-adhesive pearl, Queen & Co. yellow brads, making memories "chloe's closet" buttons, jewelry thread, lavender moon ribbon from PTI.

I hope she likes it.

More Challenges

Happy Friday!!! *Doing the happy dance* I had to get this post done early. As you are reading this I am more than likely at my son's soon to be elementary school where he takes speech therapy. We have a meeting with his speech therapist and the elementary school's principal for a re-evaluation. Basically, in my opinion, we are going to discuss how well my son has progressed in his speech and hopefully we will be able to stop going to therapy. It is good for him and he has done wonders since going but it would be nice to have one less thing to do each week. Right now he goes twice a week for about a total of an hour. The other 3 days he either has t-ball practice or a t-ball game so having two extra days to just be able to get things done at home would be nice.

So today I am finally getting to Whimsy stamps 2nd challenge. It is to make a monochromatic project with one neutral. I know, I actually used 2 neutrals, I hope that is okay. Also, I know purple isn't really a color for boys but I just couldn't help myself. I was going to use my froggie but so wanted to ink of Connor again.

I also used the sketch from the Pink Elephant challenge. It was an interesting challenge and I love the sketch. For the Pink Elephant challenge you have until Sunday to upload your project.

I am at a loss for words right now so I guess this will be a short post. Have a great Friday and I might just see you back here tomorrow for the newest Lauren challenges.

deets:

stamps: Whimsy Baseball Connor, PTI polka dot basics, paper tray, and pond life

ink: staz-on jet black, pti plum pudding, palette lavender sachet

paper: pti jet black, guide lines II (the back), DCWV paper pack

Michael's jewelry thread, wal-mart button, and joann's eyelets. I also used an ek success border punch. Copic markers were used to color Connor.
