Simple Thursday

Can you believe it is Thursday and I have yet another thing to post today.  Four days in a row, that must be a record for me, right?  The whole digi relay at The Greeting Farm was so much fun and I am saddened that they ended it so soon but understand their reasoning.  I do have another digital image to create with, Prince Ian.  I hope to get something done for that tonight since I have no idea what is going to be going on with me tomorrow.  I would love to see the baby but I am praying that the baby is head down and I will be sent home with an appointment for next week.  If you believe in the power of prayer I would appreciate it if  you would include the baby and I in yours.  If you don't believe in the power of prayer than I would appreciate it if you would send us some good vibes tomorrow.
This morning I was doing my usual blog hopping on everyone's blog that I love and saw what Lorie created for a challenge.  She inspired me to do something wonderful.  I planned on CASEing her card exactly as she had done but ended up with this instead.

I started with some Kraft paper just as she had.  Then I wanted to use some more of my Making Memories vintage findings paper.  I put that strip on top of some Enchanted Evening cardstock from PTI that I punched with a border punch.  It doesn't have a name on it so I have no idea which company it is from.  From there I wanted to use some faux stitching that I have had forever because I love the look of stitching.  I couldn't leave it at that so I added the ribbon.  I love the color paired with the enchanted evening.  The rest is just stuff I had in my stash.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the cardbase with colorbox chalk ink in dark brown.  It can be used as a thank you card or a birthday card.  I just absolutely LOVE it.  I am so excited about this one.
Have a great Thursday!!!

Toby

It is Wednesday and we are half way through the week.  Isn't that awesome.  I am so excited to have another weekend on it's way already.
A quick update on me.  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and all is still good.  The baby's head is still down.  The bad news is that if the baby's head continues to be head down then no baby on Friday.  We go in first thing in the morning on Friday.  If the baby is head down then I make my appointment for next week and continue the waiting game until the baby is ready to come on it's own.  I am bummed only because I was expecting to be able to hold my baby on Friday no matter what and to have that taken is very upsetting.  I am glad though, to be able to have my birthplan back, I hope.  I will let you know on Friday what I am able to find out.
So today is another The Greeting Farm digital image.  This is Toby and he is absolutely precious.  I am so glad they are doing this.  It makes me have to create and that helps keep my mind off of everything else that is going on.  The sad thing is that they have decided since they have had such a huge turn out with the giveaway and some site glitches, the relay is no longer happening.  If you want an image check out The Greeting Farm's blog and you can download a Prince Ian image for free.  I hope they finish with the other images they were going to giveaway as well.
This is pretty simple so I am not going to go into details, besides I gotta get my oldest to school.  I will catch you all tomorrow with a Prince Ian project.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Charlotte

*Updated with more info on the card*

Hello everyone, today is Tuesday and I have another fun project to show you from The Greeting Farms digital image.

I really don't have a lot of time to share much about this card.  It is going to be a crazy day of usual errands and my last doctor's appointment.  But I also wanted to say that I will be submitting this project in the Friday Sketchers challenge.  Thanks heavens for Friday Sketchers and the help it gives me to do so many other projects I need in a hurry.

Okay, I have a bit of time before I need to leave to take my son to school.  The cardstock (chocolate and spring moss) is Papertrey Ink.  The patterened paper is from basic grey, eva collection that I just absolutely love.  I also used my copic markers to color in the image.  I just love hwo it turned out.  The buttons are from Papertrey Ink's Holiday mix vintage button collection.  That is so fun.  I love the colors PTI has been able to come out with and I so need to get some more of their supplies, paper, buttons, ribbon, etc.
I sewed the buttons on using white DMC floss.  Other than that I used some self-adhesive pearls to add some more embelishments to the card.  I need to add a sentiment but don't sure what I am going to use just yet so I left it open until I do.

Greeting Farm Digi

Hello everyone!!!  It is another week.  I am still here, no baby.  I thought I was going to get lucky last night because after church I was having some good contractions.  Not strong enough to make me think we need to get to the hospital right away but strong and painful.  But nope, after about 3 or so hours they had stopped.  Then a few more and then stopped.  I woke up with some more but those were meaningless.  Tomorrow is my last doctor's appointment.  I am hoping the exam can help get things going or I will be far enough along that he just decides to send me to the hospital instead of going home.  I know Friday I will have the baby in my arms one way or the other but I am getting so uncomfortable that I just want it over.
Anyway, you came here for a card not my woes.  So here it is.  This is a greeting farm digi-image.  They are doing a CHA digi-image relay.  This is Mer-Ian if you are able to create a card with him before 6pm central time and upload it to their gallery (which they are having issues with so I hope they fix it so I can upload this card in time) they will email you another image.  You will have until tomorrow at 6pm central to make something with that image, upload it to the gallery and be emailed another digi-image, so on and so forth until Friday.  If you have completed all 5 projects than you get a 6th one also.  Now, I know I will not be able to complete all 5 since at least Friday I will be in the hospital getting ready to meet my new baby but it is fun to get the ones I can get.  Plus, I needed some more play time.
I do have another non-paper project I want to share with you but that will wait.  It is a Valentine's Day project that I absolutely love how it turned out.  I might wait until next week to show you that since I hope to have some more Greeting Farm projects to show you.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Back to basics, kinda

Good Friday Morning everyone!!!  I am so excited that it is Friday.  My husbands schedule this week has been horrible and with everything that has been going on with this pregnancy, it has been stressful.  I am looking forward to this weekend.  I plan to do a lot of walking and shopping and hopefully get things going so I can see my precious baby.  If not, then I guess I will be waiting until next Friday.  I can do that though, next Friday isn't too far away.
Yesterday was an exciting day for me.  I FINALLY got some new stamps I have been waiting on.  Granted these stamps are coming from overseas so it will take a bit of time to get them once you have ordered them but I am so impatient.

These stamps are from an up and coming company called Waltzing Mouse Stamps.  I have to craft on a budget, I am sure like most people.  So I don't get to get a lot of the new craft things that come out.  But this struck me as awesome because even if you can't buy the nestabilities labels dies right away you can still enjoy the fun they can cause.  I bought the Very Vintage Labels No. 4.  Of course I had to play right away but wasn't sure what I was going to do.  But I have been eyeing one stamp since I saw it so I pulled that one out first.  Then I decided to use it on a template I got recently.  I printed up the largest Back to basics template from PTI on Terracotta tile cardstock.  The PP is from making memories vinage finding and he flowers are from chloe's closet.  the rest was in my stash so I am not sure the company.

This is so not my style but I just LOVE how it turned out.  To me it gives a vintage/spanish feel.  I don't know, I just know I am really happy with it.

Another birthday

So I guess the birthdays in my family are not over.  Especially since I will be adding one soon.  Because of some things with this pregnancy I will either be having a c-section or an induction on the 29th of this month.  Barring the fact I do not go into labor before then.  So in about a week in a half at the most I will be holding my precious baby in my arms.  If the baby refuses to come before them I am praying for an induction because I know that will be easier to recover from than a c-section and I do NOT like being couped up in my house.
So I am a little late but I do have my brother's birthday this Saturday.  Unfortunately I have to mail it so it will more than likely be late but I hope he will forgive me for that one  :)  Afterall, his wife's birthday card was several weeks late.
This card I tried to do the simple elegant look.  I was inspired once again by Kelly Lunceford and also Geny Cassady.  They do the simple elegant absolutely beautiful.  Here is my attempt at simple but beautiful, well, manly for this card.

(again, sorry about the picture.  It is still raining here and good light is hard to find)
I started with PTI cardstock Enchanted Evening and topped it with kraft cardstock.  Then just punched a few circles and layered them.  On one of Kelly's cards she put a flower on the smaller circle but considering this card is for my brother I used a button.  This is simply done but I am very excited about it and hope he likes it too.

Birthday collage

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  I hope you all had a great Martin Luther day off.  We are actually get a bunch of rain that is so needed.  I am a bit disappointed because we were supposed to get thunder storms as well and didn't.  I love thunder storms.
We decided to take some much needed rest on Saturday and Sunday but went into town yesterday to do some last minute shopping.  It figures that is the day that the rain decides to downpour.  It was still nice to get out though.  I can't be couped up in the house for too long.  Of course I paid for it last night though.  I was having some major back pain and braxton hicks contractions.  Plus the baby was kicking some of my organs and causing me quite a bit of pain.  Good thing it won't be too much longer.  (Thank goodness for automatic blog saver.  My computer decided I didn't need to be in blogger and closed the page but since blogger automatically saves the post once in a while I didn't have to retype, at least something worked for me).
So I have been doing the blog hop thingie lately since I feel so out of the loop on things.  I have been visiting Kelly Lunceford's blog lately, thanks to my mom, and I just love her work.  She did a post last week that I just loved.  I am not good with matching or combining different PP with others but she got me itching to make a card that way.  I love what she did and although I wanted to do the same type of thing I didn't want to completely copy her so this is what I came up with.

(sorry about the not so great picture, but like I said it is raining here so pictures are hard to get)

The card base is SU! kraft.  I cut 4 strips of PP, they were actually in my stash so that is nice.  They are all from Making Memories "vintage findings" paper stack that I bought on clearance at Michael's a while back while shopping with my mom, I just love the paper.  I love vintage.  I taped them to some pure poppy card stock and then stitched them with my sewing machine (thanks again mom for fixing it).
The sentiment is PTI and stamped with vintage cream on enchanted evening cardstock and then framed with a vintage type frame I was given by Denise from Whimsy.  The brads I had in my stash and I just love how they are the same just different sizes, the ribbon is some that was in my stash also so I have no idea where it came from.
Okay the last of the details and then I will let you go check out some other eye candy out there.  I punched two circles and stitched some buttons onto them using DMC floss and the buttons are PTI holiday mix vintage buttons with a few mixed in from wal-mart.  You may not be able to see it but I also put some adhesive pearls in the top right corner of the card for some interest up there.
I am very please with this card but not in love with it.  I will be trying more ideas later.  I am itching to get things done before baby arrives.
I have a doctor's appointment later today so we will know more about how the baby is and when/how it may be arriving.  I will keep you all posted.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

C.C. cutie

Hello everyone!!!  I am so excited to have something crafty to show you today.  It has been a long time since I have felt crafty at all.  I showed my hubby the card and even he commented about it being nice to see me create again and how it has been a long time.  Thankfully my husband is very supportive of my hobby.  But he really has no choice since I am supportive of his expensive hobbies as well.
I am still not very talkative.  Maybe because I have been doing a bunch of talking with my husband, family, doctors, ect.  It has been quite the roller coaster lately and I don't see anything calming down after the baby arrives, especially if I have to do a c-section which I don't want but in this case I see it being the only safe option for me and baby.

So today I am showing you a card I made last night and it was so fun.  I actually didn't do any stamping last night either.  I have had this cutie pie stamped for quite a while from my mom or sister, I cannot remember which, and colored her in a LONG time ago.
I used some kraft paper that I believe is actually SU! for the base and the rest is a mix of PTI, basic grey and making memories.  The flowers are Primas and the rest is just cheap-o's from Joann's or Michaels.  Oh wait, the "thank you" charm was actually something I got from Denise, the owner of Whimsy stamps, she sends them out with every order, isn't that just the sweetest.  Now I have to buy more of her stamps since I am out of the charms  :)

More info about me :)

Well, unfortunately I didn't get some craft time yesterday.  I had a doctor's appointment which I thought would take a good our maybe a little more.  I ended up having to wait about 2 hours for an ultrasound.  The bad news we were expecting from the ultrasound was actually good.  The baby find and moving around quite well still.  The baby is actually measuring smaller than people have anticipated based on my size.  Thankfully the baby is about 6 and a half pounds which is about 3 pounds smaller than what people are expecting.
But I did find out that my baby decided NOT to get into the right position and is breech.  So what I though was the babies butt that I was patting this whole time was actually the poor babies head.
After getting home from the hospital I had a bit of time to relax and help my ODS with his homework before needing to get dinner and running off to church for a meeting.
I am hoping today is a bit less complicated and I can get something created.  I am so itching to create something.  I absolutely miss it.  I am also anticipating some new stamps and can't wait to get them so I can play.  I will post something with those as soon as I possibly can.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

My apologies

I wanted to take a short moment and apologize for my lack of posts.  I had planned on getting back on a regular basis yesterday.  Unfortunately I had some personal issues that prevented me from doing that.  I have a doctor's appointment this morning and I hope to get some answers and maybe be able to relax and get some things done for the blog.  I really miss creating but I also know that I need to take care of me so that my baby is healthy.
So, I hope to have something to post for you either later this evening or tomorrow.
I hope all is well with everyone out in blog world and I will keep you all updated when I can.

Happy New Year/Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Welcome to 2010!!!  It is crazy to think that we are already so far away from the 1900s.  I know, a bit of an exaggeration but that is me.
Today I am finally getting to show you something I created.  The first card I have made this year.  Motivet is having a sketch challenge on their blog here.  I just had to create something.  I love their stamps and am so hoping to get some of my own.  The images I have been using are the ones I stamped from my mom's stash.
The paper is Basic Grey, Eva.  The letters are some I had from the Martha Stewart stamp set I bought on sale a while back.  The adorable little squirrel was colored in using my copic markers.  My sister was kind enough to give me a few duplicates that she had in her collection.
