Your're invited

My Goodness!!!  Does anyone else really believe that today is Friday?  It has been a very short week here for me.  I have no idea what happened.  I am happy and sad all at the same time.  Time...seems to be slipping away from me.  My baby is 9 months old, as of the 2nd, my oldest will be 7 in two weeks, and my middle precious boy will be 5 next month and starting kindergarten next fall, well, summer.  I am not sure what I am going to do home all day with just me and the little guy.  I am thinking my house is going to be quite spotless, either that or a messy house because little man and I have been playing all day long.  Only time will tell and time can drag on. Anyway, speaking of my oldest little man turing 7 in two weeks.  We are doing his birthday party a week early because we are heading out to Wisconsin to visit my sister the week of Thanksgiving. 

I had to rush and get the invitations done last night because the plan was to have them to the kids today so they had time to make plans or change plans if they so chose.  I say that was the plan but that isn't what happened.  Again, this morning we had a little extra time so I wasn't going a million miles an hour.  That is until I saw the clock and realized we should have left the house a couple minutes prior.  In my haste to get all 3 boys out the door I forgot the invitations.  I was going to bring them up to the school during recess (we couldn't invite all the kids so I wanted to hand them out secretly so we didn't hurt feelings) but my little man wasn't cooperating so the invitations will have to wait until Monday.I started by asking my big boy what he wanted on his card.  He chose super hero Billy from Pink Cat Studios.  He also wanted to color them.  I asked him his favorite color (because it changes often) and he chose green, specifically New Leaf green from PTI.The background was stamped with Wplus9 Design Bacics: Background 1 stamp set in vintage cream.  The ribbon is fine linen colored with copics.  The sentiment is from PTI's very first set (Paper Tray).  The buttons were just in my stash.I didnt' have any stamps to use on the inside so I just wrote out all the details.  I wanted to make it simple since I had to mass produce.  The cards are 4 1/4 X 3, a perfect size for invitations, just wish I had a smaller envelope to put them in.I hope you have a great weekend.  This Sunday is my husbands birthday.  We aren't doing anything special, maybe take the kids to watch "Megamind" but that is about it.  If he ever tells me what kind of cake he wants I will make that.  He already bought his own birthday presents so I don't have to worry about that.Happy Birthday Jason!!!  We love you so much. Thanks for stopping by!!! 

Kindergarten

So today I was just going to show you a little something I made for my son and his new backpack. It isn't anything special but my son seems to like it. I didn't have much room to work with because the piece of paper had to fit within a small window that was on the back of my son's backpack.

I looked through all my stamps (which, admittedly aren't very many) and gave him all the options I thought would work for him. First he was interested in the OCL peanut (elephant) stamp because he really likes elephants. And then I showed him the Billy stamp from Pink Cat Studio's. I wanted him to see ALL of the stamps I picked out so he can decide from there instead of just picking the first one and then being upset that he didn't get one he really wanted.

I gave him all the options that dress up Billy has and he finally settled on the crown and scepter. That totally surprised me because I never expected him to pick that one. The Indian or the Firefighter, maybe, but not the crown. He did mentioned the firefighter but I told him you might not be able to see all of the jacket or the boots and he didn't like that idea. So he settled on the crown and I got to work. I let him pick the colors and everything. After all, it was going to be on his backpack and I felt he should have total control over what it looked like.

Unfortunately I had to write the information because I do not have any nifty alphabet sets that would work for this small space. I guess I really do need to get either the justrite stamps or the mini alphabet set from Papertrey Ink. I will be looking into that now for sure.

I have decided to include some pictures of my son from the first day of school as well. If you don't care to see than go ahead and skip it.

A quickie post today...

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you have a good day today. I have to post quickly today. I have one really sick kiddo and one that is getting over a cold so I need to get this posted and then cater to my babies.

My youngest isn't a big deal because you wouldn't even know he was sick unless you heard him cough, sneeze or saw his runny nose.

My oldest, on the other hand, is bad. All he wants to do is lay around, doesn't want to eat, barely drinks anything. I have to coax him to do just about anything. But on the bright side, I get to do a lot of cuddling that I normally don't get to do.

So today I am showing you a gable box that I found on Jen Del Muro's blog I {heart} stamps. Again, the computer I am using doesn't allow me to link to anything but I am sure you can find it if you google either her name or the name of the blog.

With this template she gives you you are able to make 2 gable boxes out of one sheet of cardstock. Great idea in my opinion. I hate wasting paper.

I realized I don't have much for Easter when it comes to craft supplies but I did find this cute bunny I bought a long time ago. It is from C.C. Designs and is just adorable.

I am thinking about making a couple for my boys and putting Easter candy in it for them. I am sure anything with candy will be very exciting for my boys.

Birthday boy

Hello All!!! I told you I would be back today with some eye candy hehehe. I have so much to do today and no time to get it all done. Actually, I don't have the enthusiasm to do a lot of it either, housework, ugh!!!

I did promise you some eye candy so I set out this morning to get something done for you. Of course this morning I remembered that my nephew's birthday is right around the corner. Unfortunately I am a bad aunt and can't remember exactly which day is his. I know it is either the 10th or 11th of this month.

I started out planning to used some C.C. Designs stamps but that didn't work out. I started with some PTI aqua mist cardstock. I wanted to find some PP to match and then remembered a PP pack I bought a while back at Target when it was on sale. It is by Marcella K. I took two different patterns from the pack to make this card.

The cardstock I matted the main image and sentiment on is PTI spring moss.

The main image and sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio. I just love Billy. Isn't he just the cutest little boy you ever did see? I so need to get some more of his stamps. I want to get Lily too before my nieces grow up and don't care for the little girl stuff anymore. After all, my nieces are 12 (going on 13), 4, and 1. They will be all grown up before you know it.

My nephew who is having a birthday soon will be 4 (oh gosh, I hope that is right too). Seriously guys, I used to have such a great memory then I got old and the family expanded, whew, too many people hehehe. No, there is never too many people in a family (that is my opinion though).

Wow did I get off topic or what?

The button in the corner I found in a stash of buttons I bought at the dollar section somewhere. The ribbon (which I hope isn't too girlie) is Aqua Mist from PTI and the brad is one in my stash that I believe I got at Joann's forever ago. I intended to color Billy in with my primsacolor pencils to make it more calm like the colors of the card but I just had to use my copics. I think it makes the image stand out that much more.

I think it turned out really cute, don't you? Well, I hope you do like it and that you have a great Tuesday!!! We shall see you tomorrow.

Thank you cards

Happy Friday!!! Wooohooo, it is Friday. The only bummer for me is that my hubby was told that he has to work on Saturday so we are going to have a very short weekend. Oh well, such is life and the military hehehe.

As you may have noticed ;) my son just had a birthday. He received some very nice gifts and of course Thank you cards are in order.

He loves the "Billy" stamps from Pink Cat Studio. Since i used "Billy" for his birthday card I decided to use Billy for his birthday thank yous as well.

I stamped several of them for him and let him color them for himself. Since he is still young and has trouble coloring in the lines I figured I would cut them out.

From there I decided to use some scrap PTI cardstock in spring moss. I accidentally cut it wrong and ended up with a 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" square card.

I found some red PP that was in my scrap box. It is actually some Christmas paper but I cut off the green part of it and matted it onto the spring moss cardstock. I also found the scalloped circle frame in my scrap box that was the perfect size for Billy and used that to frame him. I also used my spellbinders to cut a circle, stamped PTI circle in ruby red and then used the sentiment from PTI's Little lady stamp set.

That is about it. My son loved it so that is all worth it. Tomorrow he will write in it and then it will be in the mail for his Nana. The rest will be getting out in the mail soon.

Birthday Cards

Happy Tuesday!!! Well, Monday didn't finish the way I planned but thank goodness it is over and we can move on. Things have been very stressful and strange for me the last few months and hopefully I can get things back on track and work on being more creative.

I have a plan to make crafting a regular part of my day. My boys love to craft as well and I need to do what I can to encourage their creativity. What type of crafting mom would I be if I didn't encourage my boys to let their creative juices flow and their imaginations run wild?!?!?! hehehe

Anyway, tomorrow is my son's actual birthday so I will have a special tribute to him but for today I decided to show you the cards that he was given on his birthday. These are only the handmade ones. My grandmother did give him a card that he absolutely love, not only because it had money in it (his second most favorite thing int he world, next to anything else new) but it had a picture of "Ironman" on it. He loves Ironman and so wants anything to do with him (and any other movie character). For his birthday my parents bought him an Optimus Prime helmet that changes his voice and he LOVES it. Now he is also begging for more "Transformer" characters and "Ironman" toys (he will be getting the movie for Christmas).

The first card is the one that my mom made him for his birthday and the second I made. You will know the difference because the one I made was literally made in 5 or so minutes right before we walked out the door to go get his cake and then drive to my parents house for the party. Since it is so simple I am not going to give any details. If you do want any though, please feel free to ask.

Pink Cat Challenge

Happy Wednesday!!! We are half way there, wooohooo!!!

I had a heck of a day. I am telling you, my boys waste no time getting back to the usual, horrible, frustrating routine. Geeesss!!! I am not sure how many of you have 2 little boys but I am telling you I wonder sometimes. It is even hard to take a shower during the day. I never know what I am going to see when I get out.

This card was fun to make. I was reading Lauren's blog here and knew I had to try the challenge. Especially since I had no idea what I was going to put on my blog today.

As it says on the challenge I had to use a pink cat studio stamp. If you want to know more about the challenge go to Melissa's (Pink Cat Studio owner) blog here. Well, I have plenty of Billy stamps to use so I set out to pick one. I just love this little guy and had to use him so I did.

The only thing I wanted to mention is that the scallop circle on the ribbon is a stamp from a retired SU! cowboy sticker set.

I need to make this short since my hubby needs the computer so if you are wanting to know something about the card then please email me and ask.

Yep, I just run to these when I want to make a card. They are just too cute to pass up on.

I started out with one of Billy I haven't used yet, Pirate Billy.

I colored him using colors from the paper that I have been wanting to use for quite a while and never seemed to be able to use.
This is fairly self explanatory and since I am so late in posting this I am going to leave it at that. I really plan on getting into the craft room/corner tonight after the boys go to bed so hopefully I will have something for you sooner than today.

I am sorry about this late posting. I haven't been feeling myself lately. Hopefully it will go away soon since I have a wonderful weekend planned with hubby for our anniversary.

P.S. DH said that the doggie in the corner looks like a referee. He is actually Billy's pirate dog. His shirt is colored to match Billy's pants.

CPS challenge

OMGosh, I know everyone has heard about JustRite stampers. CPS (card positioning system) is having a giveaway thanks to JustRite Stampers. You can find all the info through the link in the last sentence.

I just HAVE to have those stamps so I of course had to participate in the challenge. It is a layout challenge and since I haven't used my Billy stamps as much as I would have liked to I pulled them out for this challenge and went from there.

I stamped Billy on PTI white cardstock with palette noir ink. He was colored with copic markers. Billy has a the "hoppy birthday" sentiment with it so I had to use it as well. I have no idea who this card is going to but figured I will use it eventually. The sentiment paper was spritzed with walnut ink.

Billy was matted with some green polka dotted Leavin' Prints PP and attached to the card base with some dimensionals. The sentiment cardstock was matted with some PTI spring moss cardstock stamped with Verve's flower center using my son's red ink pad.

I used some baubles from Michael's and colored with my red copic marker for the corners that were punched with SU! ticket punch.

The PP is a piece I got from Joann's many moons ago. I can't even remember the brand.

All of this was pieced together on SU! kraft cardstock. The card is an unusual size just to fit the layout and images I wanted to use. I believe the final card size is 6 and 3/4" by 5 1/2". Oh, btw, Billy wasn't intentionally supposed to have a black eye. I was trying to fix a mishap in my stamp but it bleed and when I saw it I thought, he looks like he has a black eye. I have two boys so I figured it was quite possible and went with it.

Also, I pointer, you may already know. If you have those baubles from Michael's and want to color them, color the bottom of it and then glue it down with crystal effects. I have been trying to color the top of them and making a mess and rubbing off the colors and then a light bulb went off tonight and I was so excited. I am sure that is how everyone else has been doing that but I just figured it out and in case someone else was like me I shared.

Pink Cat Guest Designer Contest

Thanks to Lauren Meader, I told you I stalk her blog hehehe. Anyway, because of her I have fallen for Pink Cat Studio stamps. The owner, Melissa (isn't that an awesome name hehehe, I know I am silly) has issued a guest designer challenge. She has 4 sets now (well more than that but the 4 have to do with the challenge) 2 of "Lily" and 2 of "Billy". One of each is a play set, kids dressed up in whatever kids may dress up in and then another set called "Dress up Billy/Lily". I have two boys so I have both of the Billy stamps. Since I have nieces and still hope to have a girl some day I am going to have both Lily's stamps one day too.


So, to make a short story long. Melissa has challeneged her friends to create a project showing what we think either Billy or Lily's room may look like. It can be any size and shape and I believe basically any project that portrays Billy or Lily. The only catch is, if you are going to use a stamp it has to be a Billy or Lily stamp.


Melissa and her design team are going to pick a winner. The winner will be the guest designer for Pink Cat Studio for the month of August.


Here is what is posted on the Pink Cat Studio website. The guest designer will receive the new accessories stamp set and will be required to create 5 cards with the stamps and post them on her blog during the sneak peek week. She will also be featured in our newsletter, on the company blog and in the gallery.All entries for this contest will be posted in the company gallery and may be used for promotional purposes in print and on the web.


I am probably giving the "competition" a little help here (that is of course my creation is worth copying) but I wanted to post my creation for all you guys to see. I had fun making this and think it turned out pretty cute. All I know is that my oldest son loves it so I might find a frame and frame so he can hang it in his room. He says it is him. On a side note:for an extra dollar Melissa will personalize your Billy or Lily stamp set for you. In other words, she will change the name of the stamp set (for your personal set you order) with the name of your choice. For instance if you have a son named Randy and you chose to pay an extra dollar for your set. The stamp set you receive in the mail will say "Dress up Randy".


By the way, Melissa and Pink Cat Studio are located in British Columbia (which I have to say is one BEAUTIFUL place). Even with that her customer service is awesome and her shipping is super quick. I am not sure it even took a full week to get the stamps I have ordered from her, although she does say that you can expect your stamps in two weeks, I can almost guarantee it won't take that long.

Dress Up Billy Chart

My oldest son is still having issues with bed-wetting. I hear boys have a problem with this and could up until they are 8-10 years old. I hope that is not the case with my son. He is only 4 and a half so I still think he is okay but we are working on kicking it out of him (not literally). For some reason my oldest doesn't like to get me up, he always has to wake up his Dada (I know can't kick that out of him either it has always been Dada and not sure if that is ever going to change). Well, hubby is tired of having to change sheets in the middle of the night so we took the sheets off his bed and he won't get them back until he learns to go to the bathroom at night. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but you gotta teach them somehow.

So, to encourage him I decided to make him a chart of his successful nights. I was going to make it very simple but then I remembered my Dress Up Billy set from Pink Cat Studio and had to use the pajamas in the kit. I started out with generic red paper (his favorite colors right now are red and brown) and printed up a chart with everyday of the week. My goal is to get him to stay dry all night long for a week, if he does that he can have sheets on his bed again. I then took some brown paper and cut it to 8 and a half" by 11". It looked plain so I rummaged through my scrap box and found the cowboy paper from SU! (don't remember the real name but it is retired anyway). I used one scrap to go down the side and then another I cut the bottom with my scallop scissors and put that towards the bottom.

From there I found some goodies from one of my Joann's shopping and put the red and glitter corner piece down with a brown grommet (from my Crop-a-dile II stash). Then took the yellow star and glued it down with some sticky tape, it needed more so I found a red button I got from the dollar section at Target and put that in the center.

Billy was just a little more complicated. I stamped Billy and then the pajama set on PTI white cardstock. I colored Billy's pajamas with a red and brown copic marker. To get the pattern I took my colorless blender and made stripes on his shirt and dabbed it on his pants to make it look like it had texture. I also colored his hair with a brown copic. To make the skin color I took a prismacolor pencil and used OMS. Cut out his head and pajamas and glued them on to another piece of white cardstock (PTI). I sponged the edges with real red (SU!) ink and then again with Palette brown ink. Then glued it to the chart, done. It was fairly quick once I got a real idea of what I wanted done. All I know is that my son loves it and that is all that matters.
