Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!  I am sad to say that we did not even make the first cut on "The Greeting Farm" challenge.  That is okay though.  My niece loved the card I made for her and the challenge.
Today I am going to show you the card that I was able to make with my sisters supplies for her husbands birthday which was on Saturday.  We go to have a combined birthday for him and my niece.  It was great getting together with all the family that is in California.  I just wish that my two brothers and younger sister and their families could have been there to help us celebrate.

This was fun and simple.  I used kraft, smokey shadow and the new hawaiian shores colors to make this card and a great old wooden button my sister had on hand.  The smokey shadow cardstock bottom was punched using a fiskars border punch but then it ripped so I just tore it off to give the rough look.  I actually like how it turned out.
Have a great rest of the week!!!

Shameless

Hello everyone!!!  It is another manic Monday.  The good news is no appointments today, those start tomorrow :)
Today I am showing you the card I made my niece for her 14th birthday.  I cannot believe she is already 14.  Seriously, where does the time go.  I was getting ready to graduate high school when she was born.  I can actually remember the day she was born.  I was there, standing right out side the room she was delivered in.  I heard her first cries and one of the first people to hold her.  I even remember what she looked like.  She was a month early so she still had the white stuff on her and these adorable cheeks.  Oh she was precious and now she is just as pretty.

This card was made using PTI supplies and The Greeting Farm image.  I used the Greeting Farm image because my niece, my sister, my mom and I are in a challenge with the Greeting Farm.  We can use your assistance as well.  This is where the title of this post comes in.  If you are a member of the greeting farm gallery please, please, please go on over there and vote for our card.  It is under the group name of "The Crafty 3gs".  The 3Gs because there are 3 generations of crafters in our group.
If you do not have a membership with the greeting farm I am still asking for your votes.  It is free and fairly simple to do.  Here is the link to the gallery and here is the link explaining how to vote for our card.

Simply Thanks

Hello everyone!!!  I am so glad it is Thursday.  A day without any appointments.  I love it.  We don't have any appointments tomorrow either, so nice.  We will be celebrating my oldest niece's 14th birthday on Saturday (she turned 14 yesterday, eek!!!).  We had planned on taking all our boys to go see "How to train your Dragon" on Saturday but because of the party we are going to attempt to go on opening night, tomorrow night.  I hope our little one does okay with the noise.
I am doing okay after my dentist appointment.  They just did a really deep cleaning of my teeth.  I was numbed and he was brutal but I didn't hardly feel anything.  That is until about 2 hours later when the novacaine (or whatever they used) started to wear off.  It still wasn't painful but it started to hurt.  I am doing better now, it feels like I hate a lot of popcorn and have kernels between each and every tooth.
But I am stopping in today to show you two more thank you cards I made.  I thought they were going to be my last two but yesterday I got a card returned to me in the mail.  It turns out the sorter didn't like that card very much and they sent it back torn in half basically.
I was going to do something different and then I noticed how my little guys outfit had been printed up.  I loved the simple look of it and thought it would make a great layout for a card.  So this is what I did.

The cardstock is PTI kraft, enchanted evening and the pp is linen closet...I think.  I will have to ask my sister, we shared the bundle.
It is very simple so I am going to leave it at that.  If you have a question, as always, feel free to email or comment and I will answer it as soon as possible.

Happy Birthday JoAnna!!!

Nothing crafty for right now.  I actually have another dentist appointment.  The first of many to "repair" my teeth.  They aren't bad but do need some work.  Should be loads of fun.

Today is a special day for our family.  Today we get to celebrate the day my very first niece was born.  She was the first grandchild for my parents and was until I had my oldest son 7 years later.  She was definitely spoiled as a grandchild and niece for those 7 years but you wouldn't know it by talking to her.  She is truly a special diamond among the rough.  I am so proud of her and the accomplishes she continues to make for her future.  She is old beyong her years but still a kid at heart.  I love spending time with her.
So, J, I hope that today is as special as you are.  I love you dearly!!!

Colors in my mind

Hello everyone!!!  I hope your Tuesday is going okay.  I have been busy since 1am :)  My little guy slept with me since 1 so I could get some more sleep but he ended up fidgeting and fussing enough to keep me up every hour until 7 when I had to get up.  I am feeling fine now but I can assure you that in a few hours I will be ready to collapse and tonight is a long one for me.  My husband is cub scout leader and my son tags along until he is old enough to officially be a cub scout.  Tonight is pack meeting and I go to those, of course tonight I have to go because I am going to have my son with me until it is time for pack meeting.  (I have an appt for one son in town 45 mins away and...well...it is really a long story so I will just leave it at that.)  Anywho, no one wants to come here and hear about my life's details.
I have been thinking about color combonations since reading Geny's blog post here.  I think she does a magnificant job of combining colors and making them beautiful.  I am still sad that she is no longer with Papertrey Ink.

So, since last night/early this morning I have been thinking of the pastel PTI colors.  I decided I was going to put together spring moss and spring rain together.  Later I decided to add in lavendar moon.  It was actually a good thing I did because it turns out I do not have any spring rain cardstock.  I plan on making up a list of all the colors I need.  I also need to get the new formula ink of the original colors.  I am also working on getting all the bigger ink pads for all the PTI colors.  I am just loving them all.
Like I said, I wanted to use spring rain but unless you look really hard you are not going to see it on this card.  When spring rain came out I was just buying the cubes and it is in the old formula that has somehow ended up watering out, or whatever they are saying happened.  I used the spring rain ink to stamp background basics: spots and dots on the kraft cardstock mat and then inked around the kraft card base.  That is why I have the blue button.  I hope it doesn't look too out of place since it is hard to see the spring rain on the rest of the card.
I hope you like this card as much as I do.  It may have not been the card I planned on making but it is the card I ended up with and I am very pleased.  I am so happy to finally be wrapping up my thank you cards.  I need to get working on a birthday card.  My niece will be 14 tomorrow (OMGosh, I am old) and her birthday party will be this Saturday, so thankfully I have a bit more time to get it done and get her a gift as well.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Inspiration

Hello everyone!!!  I hope you are still around.  I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted something here.  I feel terrible about it.  I have just been so busy with appointments and such.  We have more appointments again this week but not as many, so far.
Today I am going to share a card with you I made thanks to my mom.  We decided to take a trip to Big Bear City for the day on Saturday.  My parents came along for the company.  There was a store that that had a bunch of "cowboy" stuff.  I found an adorable outfit I put together.  My mom saw the outfit, loved it but said that it was Terricotta tile and dark cholocate, PTI colors.  Since then I have thought about a card that would be awesome to recreate that "outfit" using those colors.  This is what I came up with.  Thanks mom!!!
It isn't all PTI, the cardstock is though.  I used terracotta tile and vintage cream like DMC floss, a chole's closet flower I had in my stash, as well as a button.
The stamps I used were PTI Backround basics: hearts, Waltzing Mouse Labels 4, scrappby cat, and martha stewart stamps.  The ink is colorbox dark brown and PTI vintage cream.  The punch is a fiskars.
I am so happy with it.  One card down more to go.

My apologies for this getting posted so late.  I actually have had this card done since last Friday.  I just haven't had a whole lot of time to post it.
The details are very simple.  That is part of what I like so much about this card.  It was simple to mass produce.
I still have a couple more cards to make to finish up with my thank you cards.  The last two I think I am going to do up a little more and make them special because they are going to two special people.  Well, technically, three people are getting the benefit of two cards.  I hope that everyone who got us something for our newest addition is happy to be able to receive one of the thank you cards I have made.
Thank you for stopping by!!!

CASEing Spring

Hello everyone!!!  I am so excited to show you my cards today.  I had already started typing this and then lost everything so this is going to be shorter than it was originally because I can't remember what I wrote and don't have the time to try very hard.
These cards were almost 100% CASEd from Geny Cassidy's cards here (Madison Avenue).  She was inspired by some crabapple flowers she has in her yard and her cards inspired me to make some semi-simplistic thank you cards to finish up the thank yous I still need to make.
All the supplies are Papertrey minus the punches, versamark ink, embossing powder, flower and brads.  Oh yeah and the dots were stamped from Waltzing Mouse stamp set Labels 4.  I love those stamps.  I need to get some more too.
Of course my hubby said the cards look like Halloween, thanks babe! : )

One month

Nothing crafty to show you lovely ladies today.  I am sorry, I had a bit of a busy but productive day yesterday.
I did manage to get a few shots of my baby for his one month anniversary of his birth.  Here are a few shots I took.  He is so photogenic.  The only thing I need to make them better is to have a better camera.

Yet another thank you

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  I hope you all had a great Monday.  Sorry I wasn't here.  I planned to post a couple more thank you cards I had made on Friday but woke up with my newest baby at 4am with a migraine and it refused to leave me until well into the night last night.  I am still recouping but at least I can function a lot better.  Of course, my stomach hasn't caught up just yet.  Not being able to eat normally for a day really messes with you.
On a side note, my baby Garrett is 1 month old today.  Granted his first month was a short one but still, times does fly way too fast.  I still need to take him to the photographer for professional pictures.  We didn't even do hospital pictures with him because the hospital he was born at doesn't do the usual hospital pictures but more of portraits.  That in and of itself would be fine but the packages they offered were EXPENSIVE and raising 3 boys on military pay is not easy as it is, let alone adding more expenses like that.
So today is another thank you card duo that I came up with.  Well, "I" didn't come up with it.  I kinda cased it from Niki Estes.  Here is the link to her card.  And here is my version.
It was actually pretty easy to put together.  All the ingredients are PTI, minus the DMC floss and button.  Since it is pretty self explanatory and I have a lot to catch up with today I am going to leave you with the picture.  If you have any questions, as usual, don't hesitate to ask either by email or comment.
