Coming Soon

Happy Friday everyone!!!  I hope you have wonderful plans for this "holiday" weekend.  I am so excited that my parents will be making it up tomorrow to help with the boys to go trick or treating.  It will be the first time that my parents have gone with us and I think it is great.  My boys are so excited to see Grandma and Grandpa again.  I am also hoping that  my sister and her family will be able to make it up as well.  There is nothing like celebrating the holidays with family.  Even a simple one as Halloween.
If you haven't guessed yet, I do not have something crafty to show you today.  I did want to come on here and entice everyone to come back on Monday.  I am going to be participating in a special blog hop in conjunction with another Whimsy challenge.  It will also explain in more detail about the button that I have on my sidebar.  It is important and special so I sure hope to see everyone back here on Monday.

SNR Whimsy Challenge

Can you believe it?  I was actually able to finish the project that I mentioned yesterday.  This may be a first but my memory is so shot that I wouldn't even know for sure.
This is a challenge that they do once a month over at the SNR Card Universe/Whimsy message board.  I think I am late in getting this project done but I just took the time to get over there and get registered.  Yes, it is free to register, honestly, I am too cheap to do it otherwise.
the stamp you need to use for these challenges does need to be a Whimsy stamp, unlike the weekly challenges we have on their blog.  I decided on the hippo.  I am not sure what look I was going for.  I kinda just grabbed things as I went.  The colors are all weird and not sure if they "match", as well as all the patterns and elements I used.
In fact, my husband was joking with me last night when I showed him the finished project.  He couldn't figure out what a hippo from Africa has to do with snowflakes.  I am not sure either.  I just loved the elements and put them together.  Without further ado:

Another Whimsy group

You would think being a part of the Design Team for Whimsy challenges I would have already figured this out but I haven't.  I just finally decided to check out this other group that the DT members have been talking about.  It is SNR Card Universe.  In this group we can talk about Whimsy stamps and on goings as well as enjoy a special monthly tutorial challenge.
Right now they are having a challenge to make a image swap holder.  It looks easy and fun to make and is so much better than the plastic bag I have my images in right now.  If you haven't been there yet I would suggest you go check it out.  I will be sharing my image swap holder tomorrow, I hope.

Monkeying around

Hello everyone!!!  It is another Monday.  I am determined to make this a good week.  The weekend was wonderful.  I got to spend another weekend with my parents and some shopping with my mom, sister and my niece.  It was really fun and I hope to do it again very soon.
Well, as some of you may have guessed it is the week that I get to participate in the Whimsy challenge.  I am excited about this one because it is a sketch challenge.  Sketches can be difficult for me to come up with.  That is why I always have Friday sketchers and CPS sketch blogs on my favorites list.
This card is made using the Whimsy monkey that is absolutely adorable.  I colored in some of him with copics, kohr-i-noor pencils and some sparkly fluff.  I just love it.
As always we would love to see what you can come up with this sketch.  And as always, we do not require you to use a whimsy stamp but if you have it we would love to see it.

Have a great week.

Whimsy release

Hope everyone is having a great week so far.  I don't have anything to share with you.  But I did want to share with you some of the happenings over at Whimsy stamp company.
Tomorrow, Friday, there will be a blog hop among the DT members for the stamp company.  Not those of us that are challenge DT members.
Look on the side of my blog to see what is planned.

Not a card

Good Wednesday everyone!!!  Today I get to show you something that is somewhat crafty but not significantly.  The first weekend in October and in April our church has a "General Conference" this is a world wide conference for everyone in the church to watch and grow from.  After one of the sessions, there are 4 in a 2 day period, a friend quoted one of the speakers.  I just loved the quote and knew I had to do something with it.  This is what I did.

There is no stamping and basically just flowers, ribbon and embellishments.  I was going to hang it in my living room but I made it too girlie for my house.  I might hang it somewhere else in my house like the dining room which is a bit more girl friendly, who knows.  I definitely think that no matter what your religious beliefs are this is something that we all need to remember.  If you can't read it in the picture I will quote it now:  "Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely.  Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly.  Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely."  -President Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

Flight Test Nation 2009

...is what the Air Show here last Saturday was called.  It was a crazy day and some things really upset me.  I was very excited that my parents and my sister and her family all showed up and we were able to spend the day with them.  Something that really upset me...my husband did not have any duties for the Air Show directly so he had to work in his office for a full 8 hour day.  That means he missed the whole Air Show.  We did get lunch with him which was nice but it would have been better if he could have experienced the Air Show with us.

Another thing that bothered me that day...I lost my son.  Luckily I was able to find him fairly quickly but for those minutes he was missing I felt horrible and they seemed to drag on.  It seems that as we left a Marine helicopter to go to another plan us adults changed plans and my son wasn't paying attention.  What makes it worse for me is that I wasn't even the one that realized he was missing.  It was my 13 year old niece.  I immediately began to panic and started walking to the lost and found.  Luckily I saw him in a golf cart with a man taking him to lost and found.  The funny part, if you can find a funny side to this story, was that he was found by the Marines.  The Marines saw him and he was apparently "very upset" and they saw this guy drive by and told him.
My poor baby wasn't crying but did want his blanket.  Since his blanket was at home all he wanted to do was go home.  He didn't want anyone touching him either.  But after that he didn't fight me anymore about holding my hand and staying real close to me.
Other than that we got to see a lot of cool things.  There was an Air Force monster truck.  Tora Tora Tora performed for us.  They are a reinactment performance group that reinacted the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  It was horrible for me.  Being an emotional person as it is, being pregnant has increased that 10 fold.  I had tears rolling down my eyes for basically the whole performance.

My boys and I got picked up near our house by a bus at 9:30 and we were at the show until after 3.  It was a very long day but all in all it was a great day.  My poor body is still recovering though.  When I got home I didn't even bother putting anything down.  I just walked right in the house and sat down, purse next to me and all.  I even got to take a short cat nap.
My parents came back to our house afterwards and we got to have dinner and watch a movie.  We watched "The Proposal".  If you haven't had the chance to see it I would highly suggest watching it.  It was hilarious.

Well, I think that is about it for today.  I am going to leave you with a few pictures from the show.

Very belated birthday card

Happy Monday everyone!!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was crazy and fun all at the same time.  I tell you though, two weekends in a row chalked full of activities has really worn me out.  The thing is I don't know when I am going to get a weekend where I can relax.  I am pretty sure that every weekend until the end of the year is pretty much gonna be filled with something.  I love it but my body is just screaming at me to slow down.  I guess I will have to try to do more of that during the week because I am too stubborn to not do any activities that I have been wanting to do.
Anyway, today I am showing you the card that I finally made for my mother-in-law.  Her birthday was a week ago tomorrow.  The sad thing is is that is also my brother's birthday and I still haven't gotten a card made for him and tomorrow in my brother-in-laws birthday and I haven't even thought abou a card for him.  I am getting so bad with cards here lately.  I used to be so good and have them done and in the mail for them to get on or before their birthday.  Oh well, I guess I kinda have an excuse this year, right?  :)

My husband, I guess, got tired of me not getting his mom's card together so he decided that he was going to pick some colors and accessories for the card.  The sketch/layout is from Friday sketchers and although I deviated a bit I just love how this card turned out and I hope she does as well.  the stamps are PTI as usual.  The tea cup is from the free set they gave out this year.  I think it is the first time that I inked up any of the pictures that came in the set.  Usually I just use the sentiments.  Since my mother-in-law loves her tea I figured it was a good match for her.
Well, enjoy your week.

Family trip

Can you believe it is Friday already?  I know I can't and I am so excited.  It sucks that my husband has to work on Saturday.  It is stupid but what can you do when he is military?  But Saturday we are having an Air Show here on the base and I have always loved Air Shows.  I cannot wait to take my boys to see all the planes and the shows they have planned.  My parents should be here to help us enjoy the day and I am crossing my fingers and praying that my sister and her family will be able to make it as well.
But today I want to share a few pictures of our short vacation we had last weekend.  Thankfully we didn't have a huge delay with our internet.  Just yesterday we were without internet for about half the day so I didn't get to post these pictures yesterday like I had hoped.
So here they are:

Whimsy Giraffe

Happy Monday everyone!!!  As I mentioned in my last post I am writing this up early and scheduling it so I am not going to have much to say to you this time.  That is probably a good thing so you don't have to listen to be blab about stupid stuff.
Today starts another wonderful challenge at Whimsy.  The challenge this week is punchy.  You are to use your punches and try to use them in a new and unusual way.  When I ran accross this cute giraffe I came up with the idea to use circle punches and make them look like the spots on the giraffe.  Now, silly me did the card up backwards compared to the giraffe colors but who cares, right?
I colored in Mr. Giraffe using prismacolor pencils and baby oil.  I bought some chalk a long time ago and used that to make the giraffe look like he was somewhere instead of just floating.

I am already at a loss for words so if you have a question please feel free to email or leave a comment with your question.  I do apologize for the picture.  I finished this card at night so I wasn't able to get a good picture outside and my camera seems to take horrible pictures inside.

Missing

Sorry I didn't have anything to show you really this week.  I had a rough few days but nothing to be concerned about.  Just been another crazy week and because of that I am going to be late getting some more birthday cards out to family.  My brother and Mother-in-law share a birthday and it is next Tuesday, the 13th.  Since we aren't going to be back from a trip we are taking this weekend until Monday and it is a holiday they are getting their cards late as all of my birthday cards have been for everyone this year.
So, as I mentioned before, my family decided that since we had a long weekend this weekend, thanks for Columbus, we are taking a trip.  We all need it, me especially and I know it will do us all good and maybe ease up some of the stress we have been dealing with.
BUT I will have something to show you on Monday.  This coming week is my week to participate in the Whimsy challenge.  I will be writing that up and scheduling it to post on Monday for you all to see.
Have a great weekend and I will be back just as soon as I can.

Grandma's Birthday

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!  I am a day late and a dollar short.  Yesterday was my grandmother's birthday.  I couldn't even take a gander at how old she is.  I finally got a card made for her last night and going to get it in the mail today.
I used a CPS sketch and some SU! paper that my mom gave me a while back when we visited.  I really don't have a whole lot to say or a whole lot of time.  More fun pregnancy stuff.  I hope to be back on later to add some more words to this post but I wanted to make sure and get at least some things written up and a picture up.

Another baby basket

Happy Monday everyone!!!  As usual the weekend flew by.  Thankfully with next Monday being a holiday my husband is taking Friday off and we are taking my son out of school.  We are in desperate need of some time away.  We are taking a long weekend and driving to Tahoe for the weekend.  I cannot wait.  Things are going well right now and the news we have been getting is nothing but good, well, minus a few minor things.
Today though I am going to show you the second basket I made for the double baby shower I went to last Wednesday.  It is the same concept just a different color scheme.  I hope to have something new and special for you tomorrow.

Don't forget that today is the start of another Whimsy stamps challenge.  The challenge this month is to make something for a boy or a girl.  I hope to be able to get something done for it as well.

Baby Basket

Happy Friday!!!  I am so glad it is here.  It seemed to take forever in my opinion to get here and I am so grateful to have it.
Anyway, I have been talking about a double baby shower that I got to attend this passed Wednesday.  It was so much fun and I am so glad that I did.  I've already shown you the cards/tags that I made for the gifts.  Since the babies were already born I didn't want to go out buying clothes but did want to get them something they can use.  I actually lucked out and found a gift set at my local store.  It had all the bath supplies that a baby needs.  I also got some cute little onsies to go along with the other things.  I thought the onsies were a grouping of 4 and figured I could split it evenly.  When I got it home and started getting things together I noticed that there were 5 onsies.  Oh darn, I guess there was an extra for our little baby as well.  My mom will love it too because the one I kept says "Grandma loves me".  Which is great because my mo is the first one to buy this new baby some cute onsies.

For some packaging I decided to do something I have been wanting to do.  I made Lauren's PTI template picnic basket and used a new stamp set that I got at Michael's a while back.  It got rave reviews and so many people couldn't believe I made it.

The same but different

Good morning all!!!  I am back and I am going to show you a card I basically showed you earlier this week.  I got the priviledge to go to a double baby shower last night.  Two wonderful women from my church had baby boys in the last couple of months and we got together last night to celebrate their birth.  I had some fun shopping for boys but I do hope that is the last time in a long time I have to buy baby boy things.
I made a special gift thingie for them which I will show you seperately.  Just in case I don't have time to get some other stuff done I want to give you something to see.  They are the same but decorated just a bit differently so it is like seeming something different.  LOL, that is a bunch of nothing I just spitted out there.
Here is the card that I made for the other ladies package.

So, it is pretty self explanatory so I am going to leave this a short one.  Got lots to do and not a much time to do it.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
