My 5 year old is boxing?

Good Tuesday morning!!! I do have some crafty stuff to show you but I wanted to show you some video I shot with my digital camera yesterday. Sorry this is late. It turns out it takes a lot to upload a video. I am not sure how to do it either. I have it uploaded to youtube. Here is the link if you want to see it. If someone knows how to add the video to your blog I would appreciate it if you coudl email me with the directions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o0S97_p_m0

We have been waiting since Christmas to get a Wii for our family. Now, I am not a video game person but I tried out my sisters Wii and love the way you can get some exercise with it. Right now all we have is the Wii sports that the console came with and Rock Band. My oldest plays the games all day long, well, he would if I let him.

He knows more about the games than I do. Yesterday he was boxing and I just love to watch him box. It is just too hilarious. So, here is a few minutes of how my 5 year old boxes.

Tomorrow I will have a crafty item to show you. Unfortunately my husbands High School buddy lost his mother this past Saturday. I have been asked to make a card for him and his family. So, you will see that here tomorrow if you come back to visit.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Babies and Birthdays

Happy Monday!!! Okay so here is the deal. I started typing this and my computer froze and now I am just not in the mood to do a redo.

I do want to point out a beautiful card that my mom made for us. She won a stamp set from C.C. Designs a few weeks back and it was called Oh Baby! At the time she wasn't sure what she was going to use it for because I was keeping my pregnancy from her. Since we told her she decided to make us a beautiful card. Check it out here.

Today my card is for a friend of mine from church. She is my visiting teacher and I am hers so now we get to spend a lot more time visiting hehehe. Plus we both have boys about the same age so we get to do some get togethers.

I am not very talkative this morning so if you want any in depth details please don't hesitate to email me with questions.

Whimsy/Non-Whimsy

Good morning everyone!!! Today is Thursday and our week is almost over. Thank goodness. What a week it has been and I so need a nice weekend to relax and enjoy my crazy boys.

Today I made a card to go with the newest Whimsy challenge. The challenge this week is a recipe. You are to use 2 patterned papers, ribbon and three embellishments.

I needed to make a card for my parents to thank them for basically giving up their house for a few days so we could stay with them. That was the least I coudl do anyway, right?

I used the same color scheme as I did with the card previous just because all the stuff was already out. I hope they like it and mom, please act surprised when it arrives in the mail :)

Together Forever

Hello everyone!!! I hope your day has started out just wonderfully. I am sorry I am running a little late today. It seems that the "morning" sickness/total exhaustion lasts all day, minus a few hours in the late afternoon. I wanted to get my sister and her husbands anniversary card last night. Actually I wanted it done last week but with everything going on and just not feeling like myself it has been put off. Sorry Carrie and Lee. Their anniversary was the 16th of this month and I finally got their card done. I am so excited too because I just received my newest Papertrey Ink goodies. I got a bunch of paper I was running out of and Lisa Johnson's new set called "Heavenly Medley" I love it.

So I started out with some new paper from Papertrey Ink. I used a new punch I got this passed weekend as well from Martha Stewart. It really isn't my typical card but I love how it turned out and I hope they do as well too. My sister's favorite color is green so I wanted to make sure and incorporate that into the card.

I am going to make this short and sweet because I have company coming over this morning and I need to make sure I am presentable when they get here. Along with my house. My boys have been on a rampage lately and since I haven't felt like running after them they have gotten into a lot of stuff.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

P.S. Thanks for the kind words about my last post. I also got a comment about my font. I have wondered the same thing. I will be looking into a different font later today. Thanks for the heads up.

Back...sort of

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. Mine was wild and crazy and fun. I spent 4 days with my parents. I am sure they are more than happy to have their house back to themselves. My boys were like a tornado through their house.

We got the opportunity to take a drive and go to the beach. I was born in Huntington Beach and lived there until I graduated from 3rd grade. I remember it fondly. My boys have only seen the ocean from Alaska and the only "beach" they have seen was Lake Tahoe. It turns out they love the beach but hate the water/ocean. I hope we can change that one.

Here are a few pictures of our time there. We actually went to Sunset Beach which was awesome, so peaceful and quiet. Supposedly Sandra Bullock and Jesse James live there but we don't know what house and there are quite a few houses.

I also gave my father a Father's Day gift that I think he liked. I have some horrible pictures so I hope you will forgive me. I didn't think to take a picture until my mom mentioned it and it was already in the frame.

In case you can't read it...the bottom section says "(our last name) grandbaby #3 Coming Soon February 2010." I think they were a little bit excited about the news. I can't believe I was able to keep the secret for as long as I did. I am horrible at keeping secrets. Turns out that is why I have been having all my headaches and not feeling very well. I am so excited and so not expecting it. Should be fun :)

Back and forth

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful Monday. I am just glad it is over. I woke up with a terrible migraine that didn't allow me to keep any food down. I am still feeling the affects of my lack of food so I am drinking some orange juice to try and get my blood sugar back up.

I started feeling a little better in the afternoon when my husband got home from work. Since it was the 15th and my husband is military it was time to go grocery shopping :) I had it in me that I was going to be able to help him so I got my but up and went. I made it almost all the way but then I started feeling like I was about to pass out. Thank goodness they have a bench to sit down on. Just wish they had a water fountain instead of just a coffee bar.

Anyway, I have a couple projects I need to get done today. I haven't done anything for Father's Day and my sister and her husband are celebrating their anniversary today. I haven't even started a card for them.

After tomorrow I am not sure how much I am going to post because I will be spending the weekend with my parents. Well, Wednesday through Sunday. We are planning on a nice BBQ at my house on Sunday when everyone arrives home. My husband will be gone on his own trip (4-wheeling) with some great friends we were able to meet when we were stationed in Alaska.

So, that is that. I do hope to have something to show you tomorrow.

Whimsy

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope you have some wonderful plans for this weekend. I am going to have the same kind of weekend that I had as a weekday. Hubby is leaving for his Cub Scout overnight camp out tonight. My boys and I are going to kick back, have some pizza, and watch a good movie. I might go and rent a movie we haven't seen, like "Bolt" or something.

Today's card I am using a sketch for the Whimsy challenge. It was an awesome sketch and great for the images they have. The ladies over at Whimsy has decided to make the challenges a weekly challenge instead of bi-weekly. They have also decided that you do not need to use a whimsy stamp to enter their challenge but if you do you get 2 entries in the challenge.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

Deets:

stamps: Whimsy frog, PTI background-spots & dots

ink: staz-on jet black, PTI spring rain and ripe avocado

paper: PTI SS White, DCWV PP, and the blue and green are from my stash

buttons are Making Memories Chloe's Closet, white DMC floss.

I also used some chalk that I found at Joann's (Studio G) for a dollar to color in the frog.

Name Plate

Hello everyone!!! It is Thursday the weekend is almost here. My weekend isn't going to be much different from the week though. My hubby is Webelo's den leader for our church and they are going on their overnight camp out this Friday night. I know they are going to have a blast and it will be good for the hubby to have some extra time away from the chaos we call our family.

My apologies for missing another post yesterday. I am still feeling a little under par. I feel like I might have caught a bug or something. Not too sure. I do hope to have the answers here in a few days. Usually if I do get sick I am only sick for a couple of days.

Today's project is something I have been working on for a while. This is for my newest nephew who is now almost 4 months old. I started it not long after he was born. I know, ducks and shotgun shells for a 4 month old. I can explain. His daddy is a hunter (they live in Wisconsin) and has 2 girls already so any boy stuff like this I am sure is going to go over really well. Besides, when he is older he can still hang this in his room and enjoy it. I am sure he will be quite the avid hunter as well.

Now, I am still not completely finished with this yet. I want to find some rope to use as the hanger and I think I might add a few trinkets to the rope to give it a little more artistic meaning than just the hanger.

There really isn't a deets list. I can't remember where I got the hunting paper on the board. The letters are rub-ons from Joann's and the cream paper is PTI. The die cuts I bought a long time ago and the button's are Chloe's Closet from Making memories. I also got the brads (the screw heads) from Oriental trading posts (I believe).

Hope you have a great day.

Dawn's distressed flowers

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I hope your Monday was good. Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I woke up feeling very sick and having a horrible migraine. After laying down for a few hours I forced myself to get up (my boys had free rain of the house and I know they had torn part of it up) so my husband didn't have to come home for lunch to a house torn to pieces. Once I got moving I felt much better. I am glad it wasn't one of the really bad ones that lasts all day long. Because of my lack of energy in the morning I wasn't able to get any crafty stuff done. I had a house to clean up instead. I am actually still trying to catch up on all the house duties.

When I woke up today I felt a little sick still. Don't know what that was all about but again, once I got moving I started feeling much better. So I got started, actually I finished, a card that I began last night.

I am thinking I am going to send this to my sister-in-law who will be turning 20 next week. She loves pink so of course I had to make her card pink. I pretty much used the same layout that Lorie created for her sketch challenge and also used Dawn McVey's tutorial on distressed flowers to make the flower. It was pretty cool. I hope she likes it.

Deets:

stamp: Scrappy Cat flourish stamp (found at Michael's during my last outing), PTI everyday classics.

ink; PTI raspberry fizz, palette brown

paper: PTI lavender moon, dark chocolate, sweet blush, pp from target, me & my big ideas

button: chloe's closet by making memories

linen thread

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!!! I know it is Saturday and I am posting again. Crazy but true. Today I am sharing a card I made for my husband's co-worker. It just so happens that her birthday was this passed Thursday so I had to get a card made so hubby can get it to her on her birthday.

Well, when I was debating what layout to use, since I was in pain I wasn't feeling very creative, I ran across CPS and their newest sketch. I decided to try it.

This is what I came up with. I am happy with how it turned out and what from my husband said she was pretty pleased with it.

Dude!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope you all have wonderful plans for the weekend. We have a few things planned and later today I will be traveling to my family's home town for my niece's 8th grade graduation. I cannot believe she will be in High School next school year. That is just way too crazy. Especially considering that when she was born I was graduating from High School myself. Does time really go by that fast? Actually, I saw something a long time ago. It cracks me up every time I think of it too. Here goes, "Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes". Hehehe It truly is funny as so accurate.

Okay so for today I am just inching in on a sketch challenge that Lorie is hosting for LimeLIGHT. I hope you all got a chance to play along. I just got to get my card finished last night after a meeting I had to attend.

I used my new wonderful set for the first time from Our Craft Lounge called Hangin' Loose with Kona. Isn't he just the cutest thing. I fell for him the minute I saw him and since he is exclusive to Eclectic Paperie and only for a limited time I HAD to snatch him up right away.

Deets:

stamps: OCL Hangin' Loose with Kona, PTI polka dot basics

ink: Staz-On black, versamark, Palette dark brown

paper: PTI lemon tart, dark chocolate, vintage cream; Me & My Big Ideas mat pad

ribbon is from maya arts I believe I got it from All that scraps many moons ago; koh-i-noor pencils; white gel pen; Chloe's closet buttons.

Card group

Happy Thursday to everyone!!! This is going to be a short post because I am not doing so well this morning. I woke up with a headache, it isn't bad, just enough to drain any energy out of me. I got my new glasses yesterday so my eyes are having to adjust to the fact that they don't have to work as hard as they have been.

Second, I woke up feeling a little sick and started coughing. While do that something popped in my middle/lower back. Kinda like I put it out again but not nearly as bad as I did in January. I can still get around pretty easy.

So, for right now I am just going to post the eye candy for you and I will try be back later to share the details with you all.

Have a great day!!!

Gift card

Happy Wednesday all!!! We are almost to another weekend. It has been a crazy week. I will be glad when it is over. I am running a little late today. I have not been looking forward to today for a little while. If you know me I have no problems getting my boys and my husband to the doctors for check-ups, sickies, dentist, etc. But when it comes to me...I put it off for as long as I can. Well, I am dealing with some stuff right now and I HAVE to go see the doctor. It is nothing big, no worries, really but it is forcing me to see the doctor right now and I am hating it. So, needless to say I will be glad when it is over.

Today I am going to show you the card that I made for my son's speech teacher. I wanted something to go along with the layout of the box and make sure that it had all the elements as well. That is how I came up with this layout. Again, I don't have too many of the details so I am not going to get busy trying to remember. I will do my best if anyone has an questions but I am not going to post them here.

I am working on a Father's Day card today for a card group that I am going to on Friday morning. I am excited and nervous. I have never been to a card group like this before, believe it or not. So this is going to be a lot of fun but I am nervous about how everyone is going to receive my card and of course the explaining part. I really don't do well in front of a group, even friends.

I should be posting the Father's Day card tomorrow so if you are going to card group and want to get a sneak peek of what I have planned then by all means come back tomorrow and check it out.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Last day of going to the school for speech

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Well, it is kinda sad day for me. This is the last time I will be heading to the school to take my oldest to speech class. I was thinking about all the Mother's who have been talking about enjoying the summer with their kids and trying to plan fun activities. It got me to thinking that with my oldest starting kindergarten in the fall. This is my last summer with him as my little guy (even though he isn't so little). I am going to do my best to enjoy this summer and make so many wonderful memories that we can look back and remember when he graduates from High School.

From that I bring you my project for today. This is half of what I made for my oldest speech teacher. I actually decided to do this at the last minute and remembered these boxes I bought probably over a year ago.

Because it has been so long since I got most of this I am not going to have a deet list. I also need to run to get him to speech.

Enjoy your day. Tomorrow I will show you the other half of the gift set.

Sorry for the blurry close up shot but it was the only one I got before I had to get going. I just wanted you to see the close up of the front and what it said.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Whiff of Joy

Good Monday morning everyone!!! I am going to start this week to make everyday a wonderful day. I had a difficult week with my boys last week. I want to make everyday a day full of laughs, smiles, and love. I realize that you can make excuses and blame this or that for the way you feel or the situation you are in but it is, as I found out this weekend, it is all about attitude and effort.

I happened to catch a preview of a new movie that just came out on video. It is called "Forever Strong". Funny thing, it is about a high school rugby team. I do not know anything about rubgby but I loved the point behind the movie. The story is based on actual events of a young man who was having a lot of problems, got sent to a juvenile facility and started playing for a rugby team (he alraedy played rugby).

While playing for this team (Highland High Rugby) he learned not only a different way of training for rugby but a new way to look at life. It has made me think about how I have been lookign at life. I am not a fan of change but it seems that I when I get in a rut I always assume that if I change something than it would fix my problems. That isn't the case. I need to fix me and the rest will come next.

Well, onto my project for today. I saw on Keri Lee's blog that CPS is looking for a 3 month guest designer. This is an awesome opportunity and I couldn't help but at least try.

I love how this one turned out. This is a stamp in WoJ's summer pack that was a special purchase. My sister's purchase and she was nice enough to stamp a few of these images for me to play with. I am goign to have to get this adorable little guy when he is available individually. The sentiment is seperate.

Deets:

stamps: Whiff of Joy, PTI polka dot basics, paper tray

ink: momento ink, palette black, PTI spring rain, landscape, versamark

paper: PTI kraft, stash pp

buttons: stash I got at Wal-mart

linen thread, Michael's ribbon
