Merry Christmas!!!

Just a quick post

Happy Tuesday to you all!!! It is Christmas Eve Eve, hehehe (I heard that in a movie I watched recently).

We have family here and have been having a great time getting all the delicious food made, presents wrapped and catching up. It has been fantastic and I can't wait to have more time with it all.

I mentioned in my last post that I did have a project that I made and hadn't shown yet. So here it is.

I am not going to go into detail except to say that the box was made courtesy of Lauren Meader's "My Timeless Templates". This template is the "For Keep-sake" box. It was so easy to use just like the purse-onality.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Thank you for stopping by!!!

Bad, bad, blogger

Hello!!! I hope that someone is still checking in on me. I have been horrible about blogging. I have a project I have been meaning to post but just haven't gotten to it. You would think that with all the time I have missed blogging that I would have a TON of things to post about but that just isn't the case.

I wanted to tell you a few things about my last couple of days. As you may remember we live in California on Edwards AFB. That is in "sunny" Southern California. My sister-in-law flew in from Connecticut to spend Christmas with us. My husband wasn't able to get off of work so I took my boys to my sister's and picked up my Mom to head to the airport. Well, that was what was supposed to happen.

My sister called us early in the morning and said it was snowing. We thought for sure by the time we got down there (she lives an hour south of us). After I loaded the boys up and headed down I realized the snow started here and the further I drove the more snow fell and the more snow that was sticking to the ground.

Now, to get to the airport from where we live we have to go through a mountain pass. This pass is used A LOT!!! The snow was falling good there as expected. By the time I got my boys at my sisters and then to my parents house they had closed the mountain pass. Yep, the pass was closed and the other option was closed and the next option was mountain roads with hairpin curves, not doing that (even with 4 wheel drive).

Needless to say, my boys stayed the night at my sisters, I stayed the night at my parents and my sister-in-law had to get a hotel around the corner from the airport. Luckily the pass was reopened the next morning and I was able to go get her and get back home. Now I am way behind on things I had planned to do.

Not to mention I am supposed to teach a lesson in church on Sunday and I have barely looked at the lesson. I can hope that there won't be many people there to see how horribly I am going to be :P

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

If you are reading thanks for stopping in!!! I hope you have had a great week and are going to have a great weekend!!!

Holy blog candy Batman...

LOL!!! That is too funny. Now you know I have had a very testosterone filled morning. At least my boys have been very occupied by a very adorable neighbor boy.
But like usual I digress. You have to go here. Papermonkey.org is giving away some awesome blog candy that she is estimating is worth around $200.
If you have a blog you can get an extra entry by liking her blog from yours like I am doing. The giveaway will be announced Monday the 15th. Good Luck!!!
Happy Friday!!!

Space Shuttle makeup

First off, Happy Thursday!!! Wooohooo!!! Another week is almost over. I know, I feel so bad that I have been a horrible blogger lately. I tell ya, with the holidays coming I am so beyond stretched. Hubby and I stayed up a little later than usual trying to get all the envelopes stuffed with not only cards but newsletters and family pictures. Whoa!!!

Now, I haven't been all about the holidays. I am so gonna spill the beans as to where I live EXACTLY. You all know that my husband is military. Well, we are stationed at Edwards AFB in California. What you might not know is that Sunday the 30th of November the space shuttle landed here at Edwards AFB. I so would have been there to watch it but it landed at the time we meet for church. Again, I might have skipped it but I had to speak. I so wanted to call and duck out but it was a good thing I didn't because I happened to be the only one that was supposed to speak that made it to church that day.
Anyway, with all that said, since I missed the landing of the space shuttle there is NO way I was going to miss the 747 taking off with the space shuttle on it's back.
I have been eyeing the website trying to find out for sure when it was going to leave. The time came yesterday morning at 7:00am our time. At first it was supposed to be 6:30 but I was willing to wake up myself and the boys to get there so we can all watch.
My digital camera isn't the greatest but I got one picture that I am going to share with you. I hope you enjoy.

Now, I also wanted to share a couple pictures of my fam at the tree lighting ceremony here on base. Like I said, we live in Southern California so no snow. Well, at the tree lighting they always bring in some snow and surround the area underneath the tree and then they let the kids go and play for a while. It is loads of fun. Since both my boys were born in Alaska they love the snow, well, my oldest does anyway. My youngest was still young when we left Alaska. We couldn't get him out of the snow, no matter how many times he got hit in the face he was ready for more. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Thursday!!!

Saturday

Happy Monday all!!! I am so sorry I am getting this post up LATE.

I wanted to tell you all about Saturday's make and take with Marianne, Joy, and Kimberly. It was AWESOME to say the least. I had so much fun (just ask my mom) LOL!!! I was sitting next to my mom and talking up a storm. I just was so excited to spend that much time away from my boys and just be Missy for a while. It was great. In fact, I did so much talking that I didn't get to finish one of my projects. But I kinda put it together on Sunday and took some pictures of the projects we did.

We didn't get to spend much time with Kimberly because she was doing ANOTHER make and take at the same store but different end. She came back to give out prizes every so often. I didn't' win anything but my mom did. She won a copic carry case and a clear atyou spica pen, wooohooo!!!

Joy and Marianne were just great. So friendly and down to earth. Joy and Marianne were so accommodating with whatever we need. There was one point that I was "trying" to color one of the images and Marianne came to stand next to me. I was so intimidating to continue to color near here. She is just awesome. I had to ask a few questions about technique and she was so willing to answer any questions you may have. I would still love to take a certification class with her but that is going to have to wait a while. I am just not sure about being able to spend $80 for the class even though you do get some goodies with it.

The store had a representative helping out with the class too. Her name was Jessica and she was great also. So friendly and willing to help whatever we needed. I ended up having some paper missing from one of my projects and she jumped at the chance to help me. They had extras and she went straight to them and got me what I needed, thank you Jessica.

Tall Mouse is the name of the store we went to and it is in Yorba Linda, CA. It is about a 2 hour drive for me.

My family and I loaded up the car early and heading to the town that I grew up in (well neighboring town) and watched their Christmas parade (I used to march in it for abut 5 years while I was in my Jr. and High School drill teams). Then we headed to the store to pic up our pictures, lunch with my parents, to my sisters to finalize plans for the trip, hung out and then the girls headed to Tall Mouse for the make and take (my mom, sister, niece and I) the guys (my hubby, 2 boys, sisters hubby and step son and daughter, and dad) headed to Bass Pro Shops to do some shopping and see Santa Claus. I guess it went wonderfully and I was so sad to miss the Santa pictures. I guess my youngest went up to see Santa and they do have a picture of both boys with Santa (youngest has never been happy about Santa so this is HUGE) and my oldest got some money for his birthday last month that he got to take and spend on something he wanted. He actually handed the cashier the money and everything. I can't believe I missed that either BUT the make and take was SO much fun.

Okay, enough babbling (imagine how I was on Saturday heheheh) here are the pics of the projects we got to do. Oh and by the way, Tall Mouse now sells The Craft Lounge stamps and they were 30% off so I HAD to pick up a set. Wooohooo!!!

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday thank yous

Happy Friday!!! I am so sorry. I have been a horrible blogger. I feel like I have all the time in the world but so much stuff has been going on. We have been busy with birthdays and holidays. Right now we are in the middle of all our Christmas plans. It seems like we have our stuff and church stuff going on all at once.

Yesterday I woke up with a migraine and did all I could to keep from thinking about it. My oldest had his speech therapy in the morning and since we were out I wanted to stay as long as possible so I took the boys to get some lunch and then to do just a little bit of shopping.

When we got home I wanted to work on our Christmas cards and I had some thank you cards I wanted to make for my birthday.

Since I got a few craft supplies for my birthday I decided to use them. I had to start with some purple because I LOVE purple. Since I am using white cardstock for all my Christmas cards I decided to use vintage cream cardstock for the base. I had some light purple cardstock from a stash I bought a long time ago so I used that for the matting. I was going to use the vintage cream again to stamp my flowers on but thought the idea of using vellum cardstock would look nicer and I was right, I think so anyway.

The flowers and sentiment are from PTI's floral frenzy. The colors are palette ripe avocado from PTI and palette lavender sachet the centers were stamped with palette (I think it is called) haystack.

The circle for the sentiment was made with the spellbinders circle and PTI "boxes, bags and tags" stamp set using the same purple and green color inks. The ribbon was tied into a bow and then taped to the vellum cardstock. It was actually very easy to make. Now I just have to make the rest and then get them out in the mail. Maybe I will have everything done early this year, we shall see.

I hope you have an excellent Friday and weekend. My mom, sis, niece and I will be going to Tall Mouse in southern California for the make and takes that Marianne will be teaching. I cannot wait. I will be sure to have pics for you all to see on Monday.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Birthday to...

My sister and ME!!! Yep, my sister and I share the same birthday. Crazy, huh? What is really crazy is that we are NOT twins. I tell the story like this, my sister was having her 1st birthday party and I was so jealous of all the festivities that I wanted to be a part of it. So, my mom went into labor with me while celebrating my sister's first birthday. As my older sister will tell it, we are a year, an hour, and two minutes apart. Actually December 2nd is a busy day for my extended family. We have at least 4 birthdays throughout our family today.

The sad part is that today is my 30th birthday. Well, when you think about being 30 isn't that scary. I think I was more worried about BEING 30 then actually turning 30, does that make sense (I am not sure it does to me either). I still feel young at some times but then again 30 is just such a big number. I am going to quote something that makes complete sense to me now.

My next 30 years by Tim McGraw

I think I'll take a moment, celebrate my age

The ending of an era and the turning of a page

Now its time to focus in on where I go from here

Lord have mercy on my next thirty years

Hey, my next thirty years I'm gonna have some fun

Try to forget about all the crazy things I've done

Maybe now I've conquered all my adolescent fears

And I'll do it better in my next thirty years

My next thirty years I'm gonna settle all the scores

Cry a little less, laugh a little more

Find a world of happiness without the hate and fear

Figure out just what I'm doing here

In my next thirty years

Oh my next thirty years, I'm gonna watch my weight

Eat a few more salads and not stay up so late

Drink a little lemonade and not so many beers

Maybe I'll remember my next thirty years

My next thirty years will be the best years of my life

Raise a little family and hang out with my wife

Spend precious moments with the ones that I hold dear

Make up for lost time here, in my next thirty years

In my next thirty years
(just a little disclaimer, I do not drink beer. Nasty!!! and of course substitute "hang out with my wife" with "hang out with my husband")

I have a lot to be thankful for and am seriously happy with my life. I do wish I hadn't made some choices I did make but in the long run I think those mistakes make me the person I am today.

"With the ending of an era and the turning of a page" I pray that I can do better with my next 30 years and then some.

I never did like having my birthday in December because I kinda felt cheated. Not by my parents, they did the best they could for us. But it did feel like our birthday's did get forgotten or lost in the shuffle with all the other things going on for everyone else. Now that I am older I kinda like this because we are in the giving spirit thanks to Christmas that I can appreciate everything that comes with a birthday.

For all of you, as we begin to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ let us all remember what we have in this life and be thankful for what we have and not envy what everyone else has. Trust me, I still have a big problem with this but hope that during my next 30+ years I can improve on this.
I forgot to mention. My sister had the party at her house and my hubby and I traveled there after getting a few things. We were turning a corner to get to her house and I see a sign on a pole. I thought it was a "yard sale" sign but had to read it anyway. Turns out it was a "Happy 30th Birthday" sign. There were 2 more leading to her house. I couldn't believe it. She also had balloons on both sides of her door and a paper pink and purple "red" carpet leading to her door AND a big banner across her garage saying "Happy 30th Birthday". She really outdid herself. I was so happy and excited to celebrate with family.

I am going to leave you with some pictures of my sister and my birthday celebration this passed Saturday. The first picture is a picture of my sister and I celebrating.
The second picture is the card that my mom made me.

Next is the card that my sister made for me and then a picture of the card that my Grandmother gave me (it isn't handmade, after all, she is 90 hehehe but it is great and I am so glad to be able to celebrate with her).
And lastly is a couple of pictures of the gift that my sister gave me. Can you guess what my favorite color is? hehehe :D

Happy Birthday Tanya!!!

Birthdays...

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you have a great Monday and that your Thanksgiving was wonderful, filled with good food, family and friends.
I wanted to say, with my family September is the mark of not only the pre-holiday stuff but also the beginning of a LOT of birthdays. Starting in September until well into the next year we have someone's birthday EVERY month. We started out December birthdays this passed Saturday. My older sister will turn ?1 on December 2nd, tomorrow and the family got together at her house to help her celebrate her birthday.
Okay, I will start by saying that I have NEVER participated in Black Friday events. BUT this year I made the mistake of going through the ads and seeming some great deals for things we had already planned to get my boys. Now, as you all know my oldest just had his 5th birthday but we still needed some things for Christmas. My youngest will be 3 on the 30th of Dec. and we had a LOT of things we needed to pick up for him so to be able to make this year a little better than it might have we attempted the Black Friday deals. Thankfully my sister had offered to take the boys home with her after Thanksgiving and since we were going back down on Saturday we agreed. I would NEVER do the early morning deals like we did this year with the boys.
But I digress, the reason why I mentioned all of this, well I found a movie that I know my sister wanted so I got it for her. Nice, but I also wanted to do more.
What did I do? I had to break out the purse-onality clutch template again and made her her own clutch. Inside I put a bunch of little scrapbooking/card-making accessories for her to use on whatever she wanted to do. It was really neat.
I again, used Chocolate chip cardstock for the main part of the clutch, and PTI berry sorbet and sweet blush cardstock for the top part. The PP on the bottom is the Nana's Nursery from DCWV, the top was stamped using Guide Lines again. The ribbon is both PTI berry sorbet and sweet blush. I loved the idea of using the ribbon as the handle instead of the paper.
To secure the flap to the rest of the card I used some snaps I had on hand for sewing. I actually sewed them on using white thread and then covered it up on the flap using the flowers.
I was very happy with how it turned out and hope she was too.
As always, thanks for stopping by!!!

P.S. Let me know what you think of this new way of showcasing the pictures, please.

Christmas Cards to our injured soldiers

I got an email from my Dad a few days back and wanted to share it here on my blog. This is important to me not only because my husband is in the Air Force but because I come from a long line of men who served in the Armed Services in many campaigns during this countries life.
We need to remember our soldiers throughout the year and not just when we need them or during a holiday for them, always.
Our service men and women work hard and sacrifice a lot every single day for ALL of us to live the lives that we choose to live. Would you want to be told what you can and can't do? Okay, so we do have laws but without laws comes chaos. Laws are good and do help us become more free. I didn't truly understand that concept until I became a parent and learned it from the other side.
So, please pass this on. I know I will be sending at least one if not more.

*A very nice idea..... **When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.
A Great Idea!!!When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington , D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve, please pass it on.*
P.S. I am not going to show any eye candy because I want to make sure that this message is heard and spread. The soldiers need all the love they can get especially being injured and during the holidays. It is very hard for them to understand what they are going through.

Purse-onality

Happy Tuesday!!! I certainly hope that you had a great Monday. I won't bore you with how mine went. Well, actually, other than having a headache most of the day it wasn't too bad. A group of ladies I go to church with met up at a local playground since school is out for the week. We got to gab and the kids got to play. My boys had a blast and my oldest son actually made a new friend. Silly him though, he forgot to get his new friends name. But it was so gosh darn cute, I told him it was time to leave and he had to run over to his new friend to say goodbye. When I looked over they were giving each other a hug, so cute.

About my new project. . .I was able to get Lauren Meader's "my timeless templates" that they are now offering at Papertrey Ink. Since I knew that I had to do some nice project to show ALL of my loyal viewers :P something cool. So, I sat down and began to create the cool purse that Lauren Meader created. It was very easy to make, just like they say. There were a few kinks I had to work out but now it would be a cinch to create again. I can see so many things to do with this template alone.

Since I was making this for fun I had to make it for me. I love purple and the idea of using the PTI brown cardstock got me all giddy.

So, the goodies I used:

cardstock: PTI chocolate, lavender moon

Patterned Paper: chocolate remix

stamp sets: PTI guide lines

ink: PTI lavender moon, chocolate

Get well...100 posts

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you all do have a happy Monday. Monday's, I believe, sets precedent for the rest of the week.

I have been slacking in the blog world for a while so when I realized that it was Sunday night and I haven't made anything yet I knew I needed to get in my craft room. I have no time in the mornings to make something AND post it so I have to have them done the day before.

When I got to my craft room I saw the Christmas cards that I need to make and have started making. I just couldn't make another Christmas card. So I decided to make something fun and cheery, okay, so it really isn't that cheery when it has the "Get Well Soon" sentiment. I saw the Berry Sorbet cardstock that I bought and have hardly used so I grabbed some of that to play with. Then I went to my scrap box and found some very pretty paper that looked really well with it, some spring moss cardstock and then I used some vellum cardstock that you can't even really see.

All the supplies are Papertrey Ink except the PP, that I got from Joann's.

I hope you have a great Monday!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

P.S. Let me know what you think of the new uploading method. I have been using http://www.scrapblog.com/ to add my "watermark" to my cards. I am not sure if I like how it makes the picture look on my blog. But any info is would be great.

Thank you cards

Happy Friday!!! Wooohooo, it is Friday. The only bummer for me is that my hubby was told that he has to work on Saturday so we are going to have a very short weekend. Oh well, such is life and the military hehehe.

As you may have noticed ;) my son just had a birthday. He received some very nice gifts and of course Thank you cards are in order.

He loves the "Billy" stamps from Pink Cat Studio. Since i used "Billy" for his birthday card I decided to use Billy for his birthday thank yous as well.

I stamped several of them for him and let him color them for himself. Since he is still young and has trouble coloring in the lines I figured I would cut them out.

From there I decided to use some scrap PTI cardstock in spring moss. I accidentally cut it wrong and ended up with a 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" square card.

I found some red PP that was in my scrap box. It is actually some Christmas paper but I cut off the green part of it and matted it onto the spring moss cardstock. I also found the scalloped circle frame in my scrap box that was the perfect size for Billy and used that to frame him. I also used my spellbinders to cut a circle, stamped PTI circle in ruby red and then used the sentiment from PTI's Little lady stamp set.

That is about it. My son loved it so that is all worth it. Tomorrow he will write in it and then it will be in the mail for his Nana. The rest will be getting out in the mail soon.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

P.S. Wow!!! That is small. I will see what I can do to fix it.

Happy 5th Birthday Cody!!!

My precious boy is 5 today. I have mentioned for a while now but wanted to do a special dedication to him. I was young when I had him (for my standards) I was 24 just shy of 25 and still felt so young. I had no idea what to do with a baby, although I did do a lot of babysitting and helping with my niece. Since I could remember I have always wanted to be a wife and mother. I couldn't wait to get pregnant the second I was married, seriously. Having my own family was the only thing that mattered to me.
Then the time came to bring my precious son into the world. I was so scared and had no idea what I was doing. I don't remember most of it because I was so nervous and tired (the doctors decided I needed some sleep after being admitted and gave me a sleeping pill). The only thing it proved to help me with was lose most of my memory of the event.
We had a few complications, he didn't want to come out and his heart rate was dropping. The doctor was concerned and did a few things to make sure my son was born quickly after that. It turns out he must have been a very, very active baby because from what I was told, the cord was wrapped all around him, his neck, arm, etc. I remember my parents getting nervous (yep, both of them ended up being there for the event, that was fine with me though. It made it very special). My brother was born with the cord around his neck and almost didn't make it so when my son had the same issue they grew very nervous. Luckily, the doctor was great and there were no other complications.
My son and I returned home 2 days after his birth. I remember walking into my house with my new son and after taking a few pictures to remember the occasion I remember thinking, "Now what are we supposed to do". I had no idea if we were supposed to feed him, change him, put him to sleep, what?
As much as I thought I knew about babies I really had no idea what I was supposed to do as a mother.
My son, Cody, is now 5 years old and I have another son who is almost 3. Do I know what to do with babies now? Absolutely not. I am still so utterly confused. They surprise me everyday and aggravate me and teach me something new everyday. I couldn't be happier than I am to have my boys in my life.
I cannot wait to see what Cody is going to do as he gets older, goes to kindergarten next year, starts dating, goes into the world and becomes a man. Those days can take ions to arrive but I will do what I can to make sure the days between now and then are special and remembered for the generations to come.
I love you Cody, with all my heart and only wish the best and most precious things for you. Thank you for choosing to come to my home and allowing me to be your mother. I pray that I am able to live up to your expectations.
Happy 5th Birthday sweetheart!!!

Birthday Cards

Happy Tuesday!!! Well, Monday didn't finish the way I planned but thank goodness it is over and we can move on. Things have been very stressful and strange for me the last few months and hopefully I can get things back on track and work on being more creative.

I have a plan to make crafting a regular part of my day. My boys love to craft as well and I need to do what I can to encourage their creativity. What type of crafting mom would I be if I didn't encourage my boys to let their creative juices flow and their imaginations run wild?!?!?! hehehe

Anyway, tomorrow is my son's actual birthday so I will have a special tribute to him but for today I decided to show you the cards that he was given on his birthday. These are only the handmade ones. My grandmother did give him a card that he absolutely love, not only because it had money in it (his second most favorite thing int he world, next to anything else new) but it had a picture of "Ironman" on it. He loves Ironman and so wants anything to do with him (and any other movie character). For his birthday my parents bought him an Optimus Prime helmet that changes his voice and he LOVES it. Now he is also begging for more "Transformer" characters and "Ironman" toys (he will be getting the movie for Christmas).

The first card is the one that my mom made him for his birthday and the second I made. You will know the difference because the one I made was literally made in 5 or so minutes right before we walked out the door to go get his cake and then drive to my parents house for the party. Since it is so simple I am not going to give any details. If you do want any though, please feel free to ask.

My baby's birthday party!!!

Happy Monday you all!!! So far this Monday isn't half bad. I tell you, I am usually yelling and screaming at my boys by now. They haven't been perfect but at least I haven't had to send them to their rooms yet.

I guess the digital thing isn't what a lot of people want to see since there was only one comment on my last page. But, I do have another digital scrap page for you all to see. It is of my son's 5th birthday party. Now, he isn't actually going to be 5 until this Wednesday, the 19th but we did the combined with my Dad since his birthday was yesterday (Happy Birthday Daddy!!!)

So, I hope that you like this page. I am loving the scrapblog website/program. It really does make scrapping a WHOLE lot easier.

Halloween thanks to scrapblog

Happy Friday Everyone!!! I finally delved into the land of digital scrapbooking. I was introduced a while back to a great website called scrapblog. I tell you I just messed with it last night and within 5 minutes (barring some learning curves) I had this really adorable scrapbook page of my boys for Halloween this year. Is this not cute?
Now I know I have a LOT to learn about this website but I had fun and plan to use it a lot more as I am not good at scrapbooking an AWESOME page with paper. This is a already done layout. You can use a blank page or opt to use a layout that was already preloaded into the website. You really can't make a bad page.

Daddy's birthday

Happy Thursday all!!!

I know, I know, not only have I missed a couple of days but now I am later than usual posting this one. I still have my cough, but it is better, and I just have been having my ups and downs, feeling sick, having migraines. I am really okay though. I just have a lot of stuff going on right now and I am trying to deal with it all, nothing horribly bad though so no worries.

Sunday is my Father's birthday. For my own health I am not going to post how old he will be (mostly because my memory is fading and I honest would have to do the math to find out for sure anyway hehehe).

Since my oldest son's birthday is the following Wednesday we have decided to do a combined birthday for the two on Saturday. I tell you, it is so nice to be able to have these kinds of get togethers with family. I have missed them living so far away.

So, last night I forced myself to get in my craft room (I seriously have not felt like getting into the craft room and making things and I still have quite a few Christmas cards to make, ugh!!!)

I started out with some kraft cardstock that I had in my stash. I also found some nice green and white striped paper and the reverse green to use for my dad's card.

I started by stamping the compass image from PTI's Father knows best stamp set in versamark ink.

From there I attached the pp in the center of the page, cut a piece of green matching paper and used that to mat some more kraft cardstock. I didn't know what image to use so I used the duck image in PTI's Pond life stamp set and then stamped "DAD" in landscape ink from the same stamp set.

The other side was kinda plain. I thought about using some vintage eyelets but they were kinda big for the card and then found the buttons. Now, I usually try to get things done quickly so I don't think before I do something. This worked to my disadvantage on this card. I took some white thread and stitched the buttons. What I should have done was stitched it to the striped PP but thought about that too late. So, I used some thin tape to secure them to the card (I hope it stays).

Lastly I decided to take the sentiment from PTI's anniversary set and stamped it in the corner of the card.

I know I used PTI A LOT but they have such great images to fall back on (not to mention most of my stamps are PTI stamps, guess I should look into getting more diverse stamps, right?)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Hubby gifts

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you had an awesome weekend. I am hoping we are done with all the issues that plagued us this passed week and weekend. Yesterday hubby stayed home from church because he was sick. I still have a hacking cough but it is getting better and the coughing fits are getting fewer and farther between.
With all of that and fighting migraine after migraine I didn't get anytime in the craft room. In fact I am pretty behind in the laundry department as well. Good thing this isn't a full week. Hubby has Tuesday off so we have an extra day to get things accomplished. We have decided that since he has Tuesday off we are going to take my oldest son to get his 5 year pictures taken. My son will be 5 on the 19th of this month. I can't believe he is going to be 5 already. I really wish I can make them stay young forever but alas, I can't, so I will do my best to raise them the best way I know how so when it is time for them to leave my own they will have the skills needed to live a healthy life.
I know, I am good at getting off topic. Did you realize, my hubby just had his birthday on the 7th, my oldest sons is on the 19th and if that wasn't enough my Dad's birthday is the 16th of this month. My family is good at grouping birthdays, hehehe. My birthday is the same day as my older sisters (I will share that story as it gets closer) and my youngest son's birthday is on the 30th of Dec. Fun times, fun times.
Since I wasn't able to get into the craft room this weekend I am so glad that I haven't shared the gift set I made for my husband's birthday. I made him a card and a gift card holder withing a short time. Man, was my duties jam packed last Friday.
I bought a gift card tin from Michael's a long time ago for just an occasion. My husband already got a "gift" for his birthday a few months back when it was on sale but I am a firm believer that someone needs to open something ON their birthday so I got him a gift card to one of his favorite stores (Bass Pro Shops).
I took some of the hunting paper that I had and glued it to the top of the tin, took some vintage eyelets I bought from SU! and put those at the bottom and then took some, gee, I am not even sure if you can call it ribbon but I love it and need to get some more. I bought it at Michael's and thought that it worked well with the theme of the gift.
For the card I took the same hunting paper, a different style hunting paper, some kraft cardstock, and the same ribbon to make a quick card. I took some palette brown ink and "dirtied" up the ribbon (wish I had thought about that for the gift card tin).
I then took some vintage cream cardstock from PTI and stamped the tree (PTI "Father knows best" a must have if you make manly cards). I also "dirtied up the cream cardstock the same way I did the ribbon. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from PTI's anniversary set.
I think that is all. If you have any questions, as always, feel free to email or ask in your comments.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Edited to Add (ETA): I can't believe I forgot to add the pictures to the post sorry. The first picture is the card that my oldest son made for his daddy.

I dedicate this to my wonderful hubby

Where did you meet your husband? I officially met him in Las Vegas but we "met" way before that in an LDS chat room.

How long did you date before you were married? Two years +
How long have you been married? 6 years and 3 months

What does he do that surprises you? Nothing really surprise me anymore.

What is your favorite feature of his? His eyes

What is your favorite quality he has? His loyalty and work ethic

Does he have a nickname for you? I love that he calls me Missy and sometimes he calls me Babe, awww!!!

What is his favorite food? I would probably say nothing, he just loves food, period, end of story.

When and where was your first kiss? It was in a hotel room at Palace station in Las Vegas.

What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? We do just about everything together. He taught me how to fish, we hope to be able to go hunting together some time and we love to explore the outdoors.

Do you have children? We have two boys at the moment, Cody is almost 5 and Wyatt will be 3 in Dec.

Does he have any hidden talents? He is great with people, mechanics. I don't think he has met an enemy in his life.

How old is he? 36 as of last Friday the 7th

Who said I love you first? I did. He was afraid of the "L" word.

What do you admire most about him? I would have to say again is work ethic and his loyalty.
Will he read this? No, since this is basically a craft blog he has no interest and won't read it.
Happy 36th Birthday sweetheart!!! I love you.

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Happy Birthday to the best husband I have!!! I don't have anything to show yet. I haven't had the chance to sit down and make a card or anything for my husband's birthday yet. Today he is 30+ years old. Alright, my wonderful husband is 36 today and I love hime more than I did the day I married him.
I do have a lot of things planned for him. Well, I plan to make a card, give him a gift card, and make a cake. I guess that isn't a lot of things. But I do plan on sitting the boys down and letting them make their own birthday cards for Daddy.
I will be back later today or early tomorrow to show you the cake I made (unless it turned out crappy) and everything else I did for him.

I have a few questions about the stamps I used on yesterday's project. My apologies for not adding that in my post. The bear is part of a stamp set from C.C. Designs here. I stamped it on patterned paper that is why it is the beautiful colored stripes that it is.
Happy Friday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

baby shower gift

Okay, I know it took longer than I anticipated. That is because things happened that were unforeseen. I ended up getting caught up in some more political stuff. Would you believe me if I told you that I actually HATE politics? I hate it with a passion but know that when asked to do my civic duty I do need to stand up and fight for what I believe in.

Okay, as promised here is the gift card holder that I made for a dear friend of mine expecting her first child. I love how it turned out but learned a few things. Like, the paper on the bottom should be cut as big as the bottom really is, otherwise the lid won't fit.

I don't know if you remember this card but it is the one that I made for her a while back and this gift card holder is supposed to match. I hope you like it and thanks for sticking with me.

Missy

My apologies

...for being MIA the last few days. Let me explain. As all Americans should know the last several days have been raw emotion, so emotionally charged that it has literally drained me of my desires.
The elections were Tuesday. I was, I admit, very upset with some of the outcomes. I ended up battling a migraine Tuesday night and into yesterday. Thank heavens it is gone.
On a unrelated issue I seem to have developed a horrible cough. I don't think it has anything to do with a cold because for the most part I feel absolutely fine. I just have this cough, that my husband would say, sounds like I am going to cough up a lung. Because of this cough I sound like I swallowed a frog or something. Really, it sounds 10 times worse than I feel. Hopefully this is nothing and will be gone soon.
On the bright side of things. I did create some eye candy for everyone yesterday. I just totally forgot to photograph it. Maybe I should leave the camera in my craft area so that I have no excuse to wait to take the picture.
I am going to have to go now because I need to get ready and take my oldest son to his speech therapy class.
My promise to you, my fellow Americans (hehehe) and any foreigners that grace my page (I know, I am totally a dork, sorry), is that when I get home from my sons class and possibly getting a flu shot, I will be back to post the pictures I will take of this cute gift set I made for a friend having her first child.
I hope you come back. Thanks for checking in while I was gone!!! Again, please accept my sincerest apologies.

Christmas Card Part 3

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was pretty normal. We actually spent Saturday morning trudging in the rain helping the efforts of Prop 8. I sure hope that our efforts didn't go to waste. We truly believe in this otherwise we wouldn't do what we do to promote the benefits and disadvantages that may come depending on which way it goes. I certainly suggest that you all go out and vote tomorrow (holy cow, can you believe it is tomorrow) Can we get a YAHOO!!! for that one. I am so glad that it is almost over. May the best man win and the best props get passed. Sorry about all that. I am just very concerned about this election. This is a serious time in our country and I am very concerned about the ramifications if things go the wrong way.

Okay, off my soap box for now. I just wanted to say all that. This is important. If you haven't voted via absentee (like me and the hubby) then please make sure to go out tomorrow and cast your vote.

Okay, Okay, I am off. Here is my 3rd attempt at Christmas cards for the year. I really, really love this one. The ONLY bad thing is that it was very time consuming and with all the cards we have to mail out there is no way I could get them all done in time even if I started today. I am going to send this to someone near and dear to me (I just wish I knew who that person was right now). What I do think I am going to do though is go with the very first card I made, with the flourishes and such from PTI's silent night stamp set. I absolutely love how that card turned out.

This card today was made using Amy Rysavy's layout. It is absolutely lovely and I had fun using it. I hope you like this one as much as I do.

Have a great Monday!!! And as always, thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy

P.S. Happy late bday to my late Grandfather Archie (he was a great man and I am so happy to have known him and I miss him dearly). His birthday was yesterday.

P.S.S. Eek!!! I just realized that my bday is now less than a month away (a month yesterday) ewww, the biggin' is coming.

Christmas Card Part 2

Happy Friday!!! Happy, happy, joy, joy!!! Am I right or what. I actually don't like Friday's all that much. Why? Because like I said before, I work. I only get about 4 hours of sleep Thursday nights if I am lucky. Fridays I am just exhausted and so irritable. But that is okay because today is Halloween!!! Wooohooo!!! It is so cool because my oldest is getting the whole idea of trick-or-treating. He is so excited and cannot wait. How do I know that? Because he hasn't missed the opportunity to tell me that since Tuesday.

Even though it is Halloween I have another Christmas card for you. This is my second attempt at Christmas cards for my family this year. I do not like it as the first one. I think there would be a few things I would change if I do do it again. I wouldn't sponge the pure poppy ink on the edge of the card and I would use a different PP to mat the sentiment on.

The tree was paper pieced, the cardstock was scored on either side of the red PP and everything else was stamped and colored with copic markers.

Got any other questions??? Email me.

Happy Halloween!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy
P.S. If you haven't seen it yet I have another Christmas card I made in the previous post, go check it out. Trust me it is better than this one hehehe

Christmas Card

Happy Thursday gals!!! It took a while to get these pictures up because my son had speech this morning so I wasn't able to get it done first thing this morning.

I have no idea what I am going to do for my Christmas cards this year. I haven't really spent a lot of time thinking about how I was going to make the cards or even what stamps I was going to use.

Since I figured I better get on the ball I sat down with some ideas to make a few cards. I love how this one turned out. I tell you, I think the main reason I bought PTI's silent night stamp set is because of this flourish and that is it. Not that I don't love anything else. Everything in this set is awesome.

I started by stamping the flourish in the bottom corner in versamark ink and embossed it with stardust EP. Next I scored 2 lines toward the top of the card with my scor-pal 1/2" apart. Then I pierced two lines of holes in between the score lines (I know they are crooked, I think I moved my mat while piercing).

The ribbon is from Target. It was in the bridal section and was on sale. Lastly I used some of my paper from QVC and used that to mat the sentiment (silent night). The red star is also from silent night and to add a little more I took self-adhesive pearls and put them on the bottom. I was looking for crystals but couldn't find any small ones. The ones I had were really way too big. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Have a great Thursday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Trick-or-treating

Alright, the camera is feeling all better. I just had to go to the store and buy some expensive lithium batteries in hopes that this won't happen again.

I am only going to bore you with a few pictures. I hope you like them. I will be back later with some pictures of the goodies I was able to make last night. I hope you enjoy.

Zip, Zilch, Nada

All that to say. I don't have anything to show you. I had a busy evening. My ward had their annual "trunk-or-treat" last night. For those who have never heard of that, what we do is park the cars in the parking lot, everyone opens their trunks and the kids go around to each car "trunk-or-treating". There was fun had by all.
I was going to post some pictures of my boys at the party but it seems that my camera batteries are now refusing to work.
The boys were so cute and didn't want to go "trunk-or-treating" at first but then quickly learned that if they did they would get candy. It was awesome. Afterwards we got to hang out in the church, eat some hot dogs and drink apple cider. My oldest son had a blast playing with another batman that attended.
I guess I should have told you that part. My oldest son wanted to be Batman for a very long time and was so excited to dress up as Batman last night. My youngest son went as a pirate.
As soon as I get my camera all better I will be sure to post pictures on here. I also should have something crafty to show you as well.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Unconventional Christmas

I gotta start off by saying that I officially HATE Mondays. My boys seem to plot out the day and make it the most miserable for me. I little note. I was in the house, yes I should have been out with them, and my boys were supposed to be riding their bikes in the driveway. I hadn't see them but new they were in the garage. How much trouble could they get into in the garage, right?

Let me tell you. Remember the other post where I mentioned I had my boys make a welcome home sign for their dad? Yeah, my oldest son decided it would be neat to make a sign for mommy and got all the paint and paintbrushes out. That is very sweet right? It is but I was upset about having to clean up a HUGE mess. Thankfully they were in the garage and not my house. There was paint everywhere. My oldest son actually trying to paint me a picture but my youngest son just had a puddle of paint on the paper.

Well that is my story for the day, let's get onto the card.

I had my silent night set on my desk still so I had to play with it again. I love this idea of using unconventional colors for Christmas. It opens up so many possibilities.

I started with some SU! kraft and PTI vintage cream cardstock. The PP is from my DCWV Nana's nursery for boys, the green is from a paper pack I got from QVC and the ribbon is from Michael's. I only used the new PTI old olive and ocean tides ink.

That is about all there is to it. I hope you like it.

Silent Night

Happy Monday!!! Yeah, for a great weekend. It was awesome. I did go visit my friends grave. My mother went with me. It was very sobering but I know she is with me helping me to do what I need to do. She truly is my guardian angel.

The rest of the day was spent with my parents. Just relaxing, watching movies and eating pizza. The best things to help you enjoy the weekend.

Yesterday was church. My oldest son had a part in a primary program during the first hour of church. I was so proud of him that I literally had tears in my eyes. I was trying so hard to not cry. I managed partially. I did have to dry my eyes from tears that did escape. It was awesome. I am just so excited about everything right now.

On to my card. Friday I got some goodies in the mail. My latest Papertrey Ink stuff. I bought (absolutely had to have it) the new Silent Night stamp set. Plus, I never did get the dark chocolate and vintage cream cardstock so I got some of that. So, when I sat down to create I had to use those things, right?

I ended up not using any of the paper though. I found some SU! dark brown cardstock cut to the perfect size so I used that instead. That just confirmed in me that Papertrey Ink cardstock is so much better than SU! cardstock. I say that because when I went to put the ribbon in the cardstock (I punched a hole and then threaded the ribbon through it) the cardstock ripped. It wasn't too bad and you can't really tell but I was still upset and sure that wasn't going to happen with Papertrey cardstock.

So, the rest is self explanatory, right? If not, or you have a question about something else please feel free to email me and I will get back to you asap.

I hope you have a great Monday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Welcome home daddy

Happy Saturday!!! Okay, I have to say that I already wrote out this great blog for this post. Then I tried to move around the pictures and next thing you know the whole post is all gone. So, I am not going to write a huge thing this time.

This post isn't about something that I made, well, unless you want to count my boys hehehe. I wanted to make a welcome home sign for my hubby and what is better is that I had the boys make it. My plan was to write out the letters and have each of them color them in with crayons. Then my oldest was going through all of our Halloween stuff and found some paint I bought for him a long time ago. So, what is more fun than coloring with crayons? Painting with paints of course hehehe.

I of course had to take some pictures for posterity. They had so much fun. My oldest son also insisted that we had to paint one of their hands and make a hand print. At first I didn't want to deal with that but then had to concede because he wasn't giving up. It turned out real cute because I had them put one hand print on one piece of paper. I took my oldest sons hand print and put it at the beginning of the sign and took my youngest son's hand print at the end of the sign. Here are some pictures of them painting.

Hope you have a great Saturday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Patience please

Happy Friday!!! Hope you guys have great plans for this weekend. I plan to spend some time with my hubby tonight!!! Wooohooo!!! I am so excited to have him home. I got to talk to him last night and he is doing great. Unfortunately no one was successful in getting an elk. I guess now isn't really the greatest time to be out hunting. Most of the elk are just fattening up and getting ready for the winter.
Tomorrow I am going down to visit with my parents for a little while and go visit a friends grave. She is a great friend that I lost almost 9 years ago. Sunday would have been her 30th birthday. Just a short explanation. My friend, sister and I went out for the night and on the way back we were involved in a terrible accident. My friend was driving and lost her life, my sister almost did and I was pretty much spared (I did spend a few days in the hospital with a few minor things). Anyway, I didn't say all that to get sympathy just wanted to explain the whole grave thing.
Sunday is church and my oldest son has a part in the primary program during the first hour of church. I am so excited and hope he does well as he isn't as great a performer in public as he is at home.
All of that to say I do have something to show you today but I am running behind on pictures, organizing the house before my husband gets home, and so much more. If I can't get to the pictures today I will have them up tomorrow for sure.
Have a great Friday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Baby girl bear

First off Happy Thursday!!! Wooohooo!!! The week is almost over. I am so excited, I can't even tell you. I so hope to hear from my husband sometime today. I miss talking to him and hearing his voice. This also means you guys get to stop hearing me complain and mope around about him being gone hehehe!!!

So, I had a few ideas about what I wanted to create and show you ladies today. I was going to pull out my sewing machine and see what I can do about sewing on a card. But then I got playing around with the boys, talking to neighbors, watching a friends daughter, etc, etc. and the sewing machine never came out.

So, after I finally got the boys in bed I sat at my craft table determined to make something. Then I remembered that I bought the DCWV Nana's nursery baby girl pack from Michael's last weekend. I couldn't wait to pull some of the papers out. They are just gorgeous. I have to admit, I didn't think about who I was going to make it for. As far as I remembered everyone I knew was having boys. But to my happiness I remembered a friend I worked with in Alaska is having a baby and she just so happens to be having a girl so when I find out her baby shower date I will be sending this with a gift. Yeah for girls!!! hehehe, I so wish I had one, anyway...

So, I knew with a girl I had to use pink so I pulled out my PTI sweet blush cardstock. I picked out 2 coordinating PP from the DCWV pack. You can't really see it in the picture but the onsie paper is on top of the same PP that I used to paper piece the bear.

I was trying to go with the homemade stitched bear look when I made this bear. I loved the Pp pattern for that look. I figured the pattern on the paper worked for the look I was going for. I popped the bear and the matting on dimensionals.

I really love how it turned out. I am happy to send this to a friend expecting her first baby. I hope you like it as well.

Again, happy Thursday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Teacher box

Happy Wednesday!!! I hope your week is going well.

I do have to say. I have had a lot of time to think, funny considering I still have two very active boys and a house, dog and a cat to take care of.

After the post I shared yesterday this might come off a little funny but here goes. (Don't worry I do have eye candy for you.) I don't know how many of you spend more than a day or two away from the hubbies but if you do you might understand what I am about to say. The first day or two is very, very hard for me. I do have a lot to keep me busy on purpose. But as the days pass on I realize that not having my husband around becomes kinda normal. I almost forget what it is like to have him around and worry that I am going to have troubles readjusting to him being a part of all the decision making and everything else that comes along with being a couple. That is where I am at right now. I am counting down the days until he is back but when I really, really think about him I almost have to force myself to think about who he is and what it is like to have him around. Okay, enough of that let's get to the goodies.

This is another oldie that I haven't posted here. I have so much going on with the house, etc. that I haven't had much time to get in the craft room. I hope to later today though.

Here is a box I made for a teacher I had when I was in 8th grade (I won't mention how long ago that was hehehe). I think she had each of my siblings as well.

My older sister and I went to the school where she is now a principal and got to meet with her. It was awesome catching up. The cool part is that when she saw us she knew exactly who we were (is that good?). Anyway, it was good to show her my boys and let her know how we have changed and grown.

I thought it was only appropriate to bring something with us for her. I found this box for a $1 I can't remember where though. The paper is DCWV that I bought at Michael's a while back. The butterfly and sentiment are PTI. I really had a hard time parting with this one because I loved it so much but knew I had to. I really should make one for myself. I think I still have some of those boxes stashed somewhere.

Okay, I will be back tomorrow with something new this time, I promise. I miss the craft room and cannot wait to get some stuff done.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Misc.

Well, something seems to be going on with the computer. I am not getting any pictures right now. I will try better later to see what is going on.
So I will just say a few things.
I have always known I am a dependent person. That doesn't bother me so much. But it does bother my husband. Why? Because he is VERY independent. He says that he would have loved to have been born in the 1800s and would have so loved the life of a mountain man. No way, not me. I love the idea of being around people. I am not good at entertaining myself. You can blame it on the fact that growing up in a house of 4 siblings I always had someone to play with. I don't know, maybe it was just bred into me, who knows.
As I said before, my husband is a hunter. Apparently he has always been but didn't while we were dating so I didn't learn about this little bit of information until after we were married for a while and living in Alaska. After 5 years of hunts and overnight 4-wheeling trips I have been very accustomed to dealing with the kids and home, etc while the hubby was gone. Since moving to California we haven't really had any long trips away from each other. A weekend here a weekend there but that is it.
Now that my husband is gone for just over a week I am feeling like it is the first time we have been apart. It has been very hard. The boys miss their dad and not having him around to protect them from their horrible mother is difficult. I miss him because I know that I depend on him to keep me company and help me with just about everything. We really are a team and try to do everything that way.
The hardest part of this whole thing is the fact that he is in the woods. Duh, right? What I mean is that he is in the middle of no where. Usually when hunting in Alaska he either wasn't too far from home or at least had cell service and could let me know how things were going. This time I guess it isn't that way. He has his cell phone but I haven't heard a single word from him since he arrived in Colorado Thursday night. I am the kind of person that needs to know everything. I need answers, if there is a question I will fight for the answer. Not knowing how he is doing, is he okay, did he get his elk? It is just killing me.
Well, now that you know a bit more about me than you ever expected I hope you still come back to check out my creations hehehe.
I will work things out so that you can have something beautiful to see tomorrow.
Hope you have a great Tuesday!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

I am not in a very talkative mood right now so I am just going to show you the card and explain it a little.

My younger sister happened to marry a hunter as well. His birthday is today, yeah, I am very late in getting this in the mail. Happy Birthday Lee!!!

I got the layout from Jen Del Muro here. I loved the simplicity of the layout and thought it was perfect for a guy, a hunter at that. Since my wonderful hubby had me buy some lovely hunting paper I had to use it for my brother-in-laws card.

The only thing I will mention is that the sentiment part is from PTI "Father knows best". I stamped the compass in dark brown chalk ink on the kraft paper and the topped it with the vellum cardstock and stamped the sentiment on the vellum. I attached the vellum with the brad. Easy Peasy!!!

I hope you like it and that my brother-in-law does as well. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy
P.S. Sorry I haven't been the greatest blogger. Not knowing how my hubby is doing is killing me. I just can't wait until Friday when he is back home with me. Please stick with me through this week. I promise it will be worth it.

MIA

Happy Friday!!! I need to apologize and explain my absence the last couple of days. I mentioned before that my hubby was hunting for bear and deer and that I was spending the weekend with family. Obviously I am back since I posted earlier this week.

But that was it. I had a few days with my hubby and now he is off again. He left yesterday morning to go to Colorado to go Elk hunting. I know not everyone is happy with hunters hunting animals. I am sorry if that bothers you. I love my hubby and proud of his adventures. I have had to learn to be a hunter's wife. I didn't know he hunted when I met him but I am proud of him and all he does for our family.

With that said, since I only had a couple of days I didn't want to spend too much time in the craft room. It ended up that I didn't spend any time in the craft room. That is okay with me. I don't HAVE to craft, crazy, I know but that is me.

My boys were with my parents the other night because yesterday morning I had a doctor's appointment early and hubby was leaving before me to go to Colorado. Last night they spent the night with my sister because I had to work and since hubby wasn't home I needed someone to watch them. Needless to say it was a VERY quiet day and something I am not used to at all and am not very fond of.

So I did make it into the craft room for a while. I decided to throw a card together real quick because being a little sad (with all my guys missing) I wasn't in the mood to craft but wanted some eye candy for you guys.

So here it is. I finished up the ATC that I showed off the other day. This was really easy to do and I am pleased with it. I just wish that the ribbon was a little more in on the card but too late now.

This is very self explanatory so I will leave you with the picture. I hope you have a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!

A new nephew

Wooohooo!!! I am so excited. My younger sister is having her 3rd baby. I was so excited for her just for that reason. She has 2 girls and I was sure she was going to have another girl. Well, the news came down recently and I am so excited to be wrong on this. She is having a boy after 2 girls. Who wouldn't be excited?

So, to honor my new nephew I had to make him a card. It is never too early, right?

Since my sister and I just made a trip to Michael's and we found that some of the paper packs were on sale I had to pick up a pack, I hope they are still on sale I would like to pick up another.

I got DCWVs Nana's Nursery Baby Boy Stack. I paired that with PTIs aqua mist cardstock and chocolate pattern paper. The DCWV and PTI PP are both cut in 3" squares.

I gotta make this post quick as I am not feeling so well all of the sudden. I guess I better be making an appointment with the Dr. I have something going on and I can't seem to get it to stay gone. Oh well, such is life.

I hope you enjoy the card. I think it is adorable and hope my sister does too.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Google reader?

I do have another post before this so if you haven't read it feel free to do so.

Many people have mentioned using Google Reader. I am so illiterate when it comes to stuff like this. I have been sitting here trying to figure it out. If anyone out there knows how to use it please give me a heads up, thanks.

Happy Columbus Day!!!

Unfortunately I didn't get into the craft room like I thought. I did get home a little late last night and I got a big surprise. My hubby came home a little early from his hunt (empty handed :( ) So no nice bear rug for me yet. The hubby is home today (gotta love the military holidays) and he is home until Thursday when he leaves to go to Colorado for an elk hunt. That one he will be gone for a little over a week for sure. I will be crossing and praying for that one (we spent some good money so he can go).

Since I don't have any craft stuff I figured I would share a couple pictures I took while visiting my family this passed weekend and one of the boys before we left to go visit. My boys are my life but crazy. I don't know how someone can handle more than just two boys at a time hehehe. I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything. Okay, enough gibber gabber, here are the pics. The first one is of both my boys playing ghosts before leaving to visit the family. The second picture is of my oldest son jumping off his Aunt's couch and into a pile of couch cushions and an unsuspecting uncle. Sure hope their uncle is okay after all they put him through.
Well, that is it for today. I will make a point to get in the craft room tonight after the kiddos are in bed so I have some eye candy for you. Besides, I got some awesome new paper from Michael's on sale. I am sure a few of you will recognize it. I have a new nephew on the way and it is never too early to get started on goodies for him, right? ;)
