2nd post for today/Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hi guys!!! I am posting a second post today to show you my Whiff of Joy Challenge. They are doing another challenge for a guest designer. This guest designer spot is only for 2 weeks. But how fun would it be to be a guest designer no matter how long the stint is. I just love their images and so need to get some of my own.

I am not going to get all wordy on you today. Just gonna show you the awesome card. I really love it. And then give you the deets. I did want to say that the PP on the bottom is from a new pack I bought this passed weekend while visiting my sister. We went to Joann's to get some mod podge for me. I had some but it has disappeared into one of the black holes in my house. I also wanted to see if they had some DCWV paper I saw on Geny Cassady's blog called Citrus. They did have it but I spied this paper pack also and it is just so me that I had to snag it instead. It is called Latte. I don't drink coffee so instead I am calling it Hot Cocoa hehehe. The citrus is lovely and I might have to go snag it later. Great summer colors.

Deets:

paper:SU! kraft, PTI vintage cream, DCWV latte and another DCWV pp that I can't remember the name of

stamps:Whiff of joy, PTI simple little things

ink: palette black and brown, PTI vintage cream

extras: prismacolor pencils, prima flowers, joann's brad, michael's twill ribbon, EK success border punch

I hope you like the card as much as I do. I am so happy with the way it turned out. The last day for the Whiff of Joy challenge is today. If you want to enter you better get going.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The project I intended for yesterday

Happy Tuesday all!!! What a day it was yesterday. My boys were in full force yesterday. They drove me crazy. I don't know what it was yesterday, Monday? I don't know. My hubby also had a bad day at work yesterday too. Good thing it is over.

Of course we did end it on a good note. We are having some comfortable weather here so we barbequed and since my oldest is getting ready for T-ball he wanted to practice, especially since we got him some balls and a new mitt to play with. While my hubby was grilling I was helping my oldest to bat off a "T". My hubby usually just tosses him the ball and he hits it so this is new to him. Now we just have to work on the throwing. He always want to "pitch" the ball not just toss it to someone so this is going to be fun.

I was going to show you something else yesterday but stupid me forgot to take a picture of it. It was something I made for my sister so it was at her house. I had to ask her to take a picture of it for me and then email them to me. I figured I already had the pictures of the other project so I posted that first.

This is another Lauren's My Timeless Template. I love the little filed with flair goodies. My sister and I decided to play around with them this passed weekend. It was fun.

My sister is in love with pink so that is what I used as the base of the file holder. Here are the pics and then the deets follow. Enjoy!!!

Deets:

paper:PTI sweet blush, vintage cream, chocolate remix

ink: palette brown, SU! creamy caramel, versamark, PTI sweet blush, and berry sorbet

stamps: PTI life, borders & corners monogram edition

extras: PTI berry sorbet stitched ribbon, prima flowers, joann's flower brad, kaleidoscope embossing powder, treading water fiskers border punch, clear glitter pen

I also made a few mistakes on my last post. For the letters of my son's name we used a alphabet stamp set from SU! and the ink for the Connor baseball player wasn't palette black it was momento tuxedo black.

Well, that is about it for today. I hope you have a good day.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Something different

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was interesting. My husband had the family up by 5am on Saturday to drive to my sisters, unload me and the boys, load up my brother in law and his son, and then they were off to hunt.

My sister and I tried to wake up a little and then were off to use a bunch of coupons at the craft stores, some errands we needed to run, lunch with my parents and then back to her house to scrap for a while.

It turned out to be a really nice weekend. We are all burned out and ready for some sleep but alas, the week proves to be another busy week. We signed my oldest up for T-ball. He couldn't be more excited. It turns out that his coach is someone that my husband knows from work. So that is nice. We were able to find out that he will be a Giant. Of course we are Yankee fans to the nth degree but it is T-ball. When my husband told him he was a Giant he was disappointed that he wasn't a Yankee but dealt with it. Then my husband told him the colors of his team, again disappointment (he wanted red). He quickly got over that as well.

I purchased a stamp from Whimsy stamps that is just so adorable and I knew I had to get right away. It was on sale for $5. He is a decent size. Of course it says the size but you don't really realize how big he is until you get him home. But I think he is great and the tag was a perfect project for him.

I had another image I stamped so I let my son color it. He wants to make a card out of him so we will have to do that later and I will show you.

Here are the deets:
paper: PTI stamper's select white, orange is from my sister's stash
stamps: Baseball Conner (Whimsy stamps)
ink: Palette black, PTI true black
copic markers (I didn't write down all the colors)
the bat was colored using smooches

My son couldn't have been happier when he saw his baseball stamp colored. We did all that when the kids were asleep. He was so excited to have him.

My sister also pulled out a baseball bag with a T-ball bat and batting helmet. She had those from when her daughter played T-ball. My oldest son hasn't gone anywhere without that on his arm. We might be starting practices this Wednesday but we shall see how that goes.

Wednesdays are going to be very crazy for us once practice starts until the end of the season some time the end of June.

From the info we got practice will be from 5-6pm, not bad. But my husband doesn't get home from work until around 4:30 then he leaves around 6 to go to the church for scouts and he is gone until around 8. No problem for me and the boys because we can always do dinner after practice but my poor hubby is going to be dragging and we still haven't figured out when dinner will be. Fast food on the field? That might have to be what we do for a couple of months. It will be fun though and so worth it to see my son so happy.

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by!!!

Why am I MIA AGAIN?

Wooohooo!!! It has been a crazy week here for us. Just about everyday, well, everyday except today we have had something planned.

Yesterday I had a really bad allergy attack. I am doing much better today but I have yet to step foot outside. I am kinda afraid to.

Wednesday night we had a busy night. After my husband got home from work we rushed to get dinner done, finish my sons pinewood derby car and then head to the church so we can help set up the Pinewood Derby track.

To clarify a few things. My son is only 5 is NOT a cub scout. My husband is the Webelo's leader for the church cub scouts pack. It has been fun for our whole family. When it comes to pack meetings and pinewood derby's and for the blue and gold banquet the whole family got to participate. My oldest is already looking forward to being able to officially participate in the cub scouts program.

Here are a few pictures of the event. I have something I have been working on but it isn't finished because of time restraints and the allergy attack. I will post it on Monday. I can promise it will be done because I will be spending the weekend with my sister and niece and we pretty much have a full day of crafts planned for Saturday.

My husband, Brother-in-law, and his son are planning a hunting weekend with a bunch of other guys. Since hubby and I have only one card now I decided to spend the day with family, why not, right?

I will be sure to show some pictures of the weekend on Monday as well. For those that are not hunting fans I will put those pictures at the end so you don't have to see them if you don't want to.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Filed with Flair

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I hope you are having a good week so far. It has been crazy in my house. But today is my lazy laid back day. That is until tonight. My husband is a webelo leader for the cub scouts. Other than that we have nothing to do with cub scouts. My boys are still too young for cub scouts but my oldest is counting down until he is. We don't start cub scouts until 8 years old and my son is only 5. I hope he is pretty patient. Tonight we are going to cub scouts as a family because tonight is the Pinewood Derby. We went last year and it was so much fun. This year we made a family car. We obviously can't race it with the cub scouts but after all the official races we can see how well it does. It will be fun I am sure.

On to my project for today. I always say this and I will continue to say this. I LOVE the templates that Lauren has been coming out with through Papertrey Ink. They are awesome and so easy to use.

This time I used the "filed with flair" template. The designers did an awesome job showcasing this template and I just love it. Right now I am using mine to hold some of the cards I have made for the blog. Of course I would have to make a lot more to fit ALL the cards I have made and not used yet. Oh darn, right? I do plan on making more though. Just gotta.

Here are the deets:
paper: PTI dark chocolate, lavender moon, chocolate remix
ribbon: PTI lavender moon
flowers: prima
brads: joann's
buttons: wal-mart stash
thread: michael's jewelry section
I also used pop-dots to pop up the extra layers.

Well, I think that is about it. I just love it and I hope you do. I also hope you have a great Wednesday.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Brother-in-law birthday

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Another early and busy day for me. Today is Tuesday so my oldest has speech today. Then I have a couple of errands to run before I pick up my husband for lunch.
The only thing I am dreading today is going to the clinic here on base. We have signed up my oldest for T-ball. He and I are so excited to get started. But we needed to have a physical to get him enrolled. That physical was done in Dec. so all I had to do was take a piece of paper to the clinic so his doctor could fill it out and get it back to me. Well, all of that was done over a week ago. Still no word from the clinic about it been completed. I went over last week and no paper. I NEED that paper or my son cannot play. So, if they still tell me they don't have it I might have to drop a name. I hate name-dropping. It just isn't fair to everyone else but I NEED this paper, last week. What else am I supposed to do, right?
Anyway, enough of my woes, right? I promised you yesterday I would show you the card I made for my brother-in-law and here it is. I was really struggling with this one after making a really girlie card for my niece. I had planned on using Peanut from Our Craft Lounge but it just didn't work like I had hoped. So I took some time, watched some TV and then decided I need to get back to the card. I am pleased with how this turned out.
Here are the deets:
paper: PTI vintage cream and spring moss
ink: SU! Creamy caramel and versamark
stamps: PTI guide lines, simple little things
buttons: making memories choloe's closet and the brown is from a baggie I got at Wal-Mart
string is from the jewelry section at Michael's
As always, thanks for stopping by!!! Tomorrow I have a fun project I made for myself using one of Lauren's templates.

Whiff of Joy Challenege #22/Niece's birthdayAmy R.'s sketch challenge

Happy Monday!!! (that is quite the title, right?)

I had a wonderful weekend. On Saturday we went to my sister's to have a birthday party for my niece (She will be 13 tomorrow) Happy Birthday JoAnna!!! And my brother-in-laws birthday (He will be 3? on Friday) Happy Birthday Aaron!!!

It was so much fun. Can you guess what we did? OMGosh!!! I think the last time I did what we did on Saturday for their birthday's I was still a teenager (and I am not even close to that anymore). I actually got into a pair of skates. I was so excited and nervous at the same time. But after a few trips around the rink I was pretty much back to where I was when I stopped skating. I seriously did not take those skates off again until we left. My husband thought I was crazy. Maybe I am hehehe.

I tell you what though. My bum is a little sore. Can you believe after many, many trips on the skating rink I didn't fall? That is until I was watching my oldest son playing skee ball. Yep, just standing there watching him play and bam, right on my hiney. I still have no idea what made me fall. Nothing what so ever. There is absolutely no reason I should have ended up on the floor. That is the most frustrating part.

I have to brag too. My boys have NEVER been on skates before, NEVER, and they are 5 and 3. Both of them put skates on and my youngest did okay but didn't want to have them on for long. My oldest, he did awesome. Refused to let me help him and he actually went around the rink by himself once. He did great. He never gave up, kept trying and eventually got it. Well, he isn't a pro by any means but I know if we get the chance to go skating again he will do it.

This is the card I made for my niece for her birthday. I love how it turned out. But as you noticed it also has two other purposes. I just love Whiff of Joy stamps. They truly are so relaxing and therapeutic to color. I colored her again with my prismacolor pencils. If I had the copic markers to color her I would but I also love the look that a pencil gives her as well. So the Whiff of Joy challenge is to use green. Do you think I have enough green?

Deets:
paper: PTI sweet blush, spring moss, stampers select white, and PP is from JoAnn's
ink: PTI spring moss, palette black, PTI sprig rain for the sky
stamps: PTI my punny valentine (sentiment), silent night (flourish on the card base)
copic markers for the grass
prismacolor pencils to color in the angel
jewelry thread for the "ribbon"
Prima flowers and a $1 spot target find brad.

I also used Amy R.'s Friday sketch for this card. I had to turn the sketch to fit the image I wanted to use but I hope she doesn't mind. It made the card so lovely and the colors I used, I think, makes the card so soft and sweet. My niece seemed to like it too.

Now, I also said it was my brother-in-laws birthday too. I made him a card as well and I will be sharing that card with you tomorrow. Until then, have a great Monday!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Feel Better/Challenge #43-Little Gem

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Sorry about the delay in this post. It turned out to be a crazy afternoon. The hubby called and needed to get lunch early because he had a meeting to attend at the same time he usually has lunch. Then I needed to run over to the base clinic to get a paper filled out. By that time I forgot that I hadn't finished this post and took the kids to the park. Oh...My...Goodness!!! Now, give me some slack here, we lived in Alaska for 5 years before this. But talk about HOT!!! Seriously, it is only March and my boys are running around in shorts and t-shirts. We got to play at the playground for a while before my youngest had to go potty and not the kind you can use a bush for hehehe.
Our plan was to go back out once we were done at home and play at the playground near our house. As soon as we got home and my boys were bright run from running around in the sun, my oldest told me that he is too hot and sweaty and wanted to stay inside for a while to cool off and watch some TV. I am okay with that for a little while.
So on to my card. I made this card for my Aunt who was in a vehicle accident earlier this week. She had an angel watching out for her that day. Instead of being laid up in the hospital she is home and they had to make her stay home from work. She luckily has no broken bones, just minor aches and pains.
This card I made also to qualify (I hope) for "A Spoon Full of Sugar" Challenge #43. All you need to do is use some gems in your project. I hope this is enough. I just love how it turned out.
Also, just to let you know. The apples look closer to the berry sorbet in real life, more so than in this picture. I do love how it turned out. I wasn't sure what image to use but this one popped at me. What is the old saying anyway, an apple a day will keep the doctor away...
I also wanted to comment on the image. Now I have been noticing a huge trend in using a white gel pen to add some highlighting to an image. I didn't mean to do this on this card but this is how it happened. So, I wanted to add some more glitter to the image and was looking for my clear glitter pen when I accidentally picked up my gel pen. That is when a light bulb went off in my head. Yep, so I went to town on the apples and barrel. Doesn't it look awesome? Maybe you can't tell real well in the picture. I don't know. I tell ya, I can't wait to get a photo editing program. It is going to be so much better than using Paint.
Alrighty I think I bugged you enough with my blabber today.

Deets:
paper: PTI Berry Sorbet, pink blush, PP is $1 pack from Target (the white is the other side of the PP)
ink: Palette black and white, PTI berry sorbet
ribbon: PTI pink blush
image was colored with copic markers and the white is from my white gel pen.
the jewels are self-adhesive that I won on Lori's blog thanks to LimeLight and I used crystal stickles for around the scallop circle.

Captured Card Case

Wooohooo!!! It is hump day.
I need to apologize for my absence yesterday. I woke up with a migraine. I am prone to migraines so not really a big deal but it was a BAD one. I haven't had a bad one in a long time so I guess I was due. But this knocked me off my feet basically all day. I was able to get my husband to work, my son to speech, and then go pick my husband up for lunch but that is about all I did yesterday. I have to brag on my husband again. He truly is special. I am very lucky that he found me. He was upset, about the boys. I really had no strength or desire to do anything but lay around. The boys, 5 and 3, pretty much had the run of the house. My poor husband came home to a messy house twice yesterday. Once when I got him for lunch and then when he came home at the end of the day. He cleaned up the house, took them outside to play so I can soak in the tub, and then made them dinner and put them to bed. He also took care of me. Anything I wanted he did. Really, do I have a good husband or what?
I started feeling a little normal around 9ish, just in time to watch "Dancing with the Stars" hehehe. I woke up this morning feeling almost myself. I still have some lingering pain in my head but nothing I can't muscle through.
Monday night I started working on my captured card case by Lauren Meader. It is one of the templates she released through Papertrey Ink on the 15th of this month. I loved what she did with it. I actually made my note cards to put in this box specifically.
I did do a little extra on the case. I wanted to flair it up just a little and make it more my own. So, it took a little while longer to put together. The box is easy peasy and you can do so much with it. I can't wait to play around some more. I got some things running through my head. I am supposed to think of some ideas for Teacher Appreciation for our Primary teachers at church. I am either thinking the box or the basket. We are going to hand them out around Easter so maybe the basket to keep the Easter feel, right?
Okay, I guess I should stop talking and let you see how my Captured Card Case turned out. I LOVE Lauren's templates. Seriously, if you haven't tried them yet, run, don't walk to Papertrey Ink and get at least the free one for now. Just save it to your computer and you can print them out as many times and in as many colors as you want.
Deets:

Baby basket

Hi all!!! I hope you had a great weekend. It was another relaxing weekend here. Great time with the family just hanging out and getting things done. I love those kind of weekends.

I am starting to stress though. This Sunday I have to teach the little primary kids, well, the older ones too. You would think this is a walk in the park for me seeing as I have been teaching most of their mothers for quite a while now. But I think it is the teachers in the primary that I am nervous about having in there. Crazy, huh? I am just not comfortable speaking in front of a group and I keep getting callings that require it. So strange. But I think that is part of Heavenly Father's plan. Get you out of your comfort zone so you can learn and grow, right?

Anywho. One of the ladies I worked with in Relief Society, a neighbor and a friend (Hi Michelle!!! :D )is expecting a baby next month. Her third, and after two girls she is having a boy. How exciting is that?

Because of my "mommy brain" I missed her baby shower so I was determined to make up something REALLY cute for her. Now, you all should know by now how much I LOVE the work that Lauren does on her blog and her templates. I remember on her blog that she took the basket template from Papertrey Ink and made a bigger basket by putting two together. What a great idea right? Well, that is what I did for my friend.

It took me a while to figure things out and it was pretty frustrating at time. I just had to set it aside and then go back to it when I was able to really concentrate. This is only because instead of using one color I had to use two. But the good news is now that I got it figured out it will be easy to recreate.

I also had to make a card to match. That took me a while too because I was having a hard time trying to find a button with holes large enough to put the ribbon through. I just love how it turned out though and hope she is as happy with it as I am.
basket deets:
cardstock: PTI aqua mist, SU! kraft
ribbon: PTI aqua mist
eyelets: SU! jumbo
button and flower: making memories chloe's closet

More note cards

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned a head of you. Nothing special here but I really like those kind of weekends.

I wanted to share a funny story about my oldest. After he got done with the dentist and my youngest was seeing the dentist I had a little talk with my oldest. My husband told me that when they looked at the x-rays the dentist mentioned that it might not be too much longer before my oldest starts loosing some of his baby teeth. I thought this was a good time to explain to him what happens to his old baby teeth. Besides, he asked if you throw them away. I tried to explain to the best of my ability about the tooth fairy and what her purpose was. His eyes lit up when I told him he got money for his tooth. But when he asked about HOW she got his teeth he was surprised to find out that she actually goes in your room, picks up your pillow and takes your tooth and replaces it with money. Then he chuckled, looked me square in the eye and said, "That is silly". I was so shocked by that comment that I just busted out laughing. With that and the look he gave me I couldn't help but laugh and he thought it was great that he was able to make me laugh. I love the things my kids come up with to say.

Last night I sat down to make some more cards and not sure what to make to show everyone. I just had to make some more note cards. I think I mentioned it before. On the 15th when Papertrey Ink comes out with their new releases I plan on getting Lauren's templates. One of them is a card holder that she showed on her blog here. I thought it was great and loved the idea of note cards. After making the cards yesterday I couldn't help but make more for myself to put in my card box I am going to make :) Gotta test it out first, right?

This is what I came up with. I love how it turned out again. My husband agreed also hehehe. Sometimes I think he just agrees to make me feel better about what I made. I don't mind it much though. Okay now for the deets:
paper: PTI dark chocolate, vintage cream, lavender moon and chocolate remix
ink: palette brown, PTI vintage cream, lavender moon
stamps: Verve stamps fluttering by
paper piercer, self-adhesive pearls, baubles (given to me by my sister for our birthday).

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lauren's notecards

Happy Thursday!!! Can you believe the week is almost over already? It has been a crazy week for me and my family.

Tuesday my oldest had speech in the morning and in the afternoon I had an eye exam. Yesterday my boys had their first dentist appointment. Actually my oldest had been to the dentist once before but he refused to let the dentist even touch him. I was very stressed out about how yesterday was going to go because we were taking both my boys at the same time. A friend of mine recommended a dentist in a near by town. My husband was able to go with us and both the boys wanted their dad to go with them to the room. It went perfectly. No cavities, no problems so far. My oldest does have an overbite that is obvious and when he gets older he may have to have braces but being that he is 5 there isn't much to do about it right now. My oldest also let them take x-rays which was great. My youngest didn't want to have anything to do with the x-rays (not that I blame him).

After the exam they got a "goodie" bag filled with a new toothbrush, a personal flosser, and their own tube of toothpaste. They also got to pick a toy out of another treasure chest.

We were home for about an hour after the dentist before we had to head off to church for a meeting I had to go to and my hubby had cub scouts to lead. Needless to say I am very tired today on top of having to get up early to take my husband to work so I can have the truck to take my oldest to speech again today. Oh, I am so looking forward to this weekend.

All of this is why I wasn't able to get to the computer to post anything. I haven't actually been able to create much lately. I hope to remedy that. I have a few things in my head paper-craft wise as well as a blanket I am crocheting for a service project my ward is doing for the local hospital.

I am making a blanket but they are also asking for layette's and hats for babies that were called home early to their Heavenly Father. Very sad. It is the least I can do for someone in need. What the hospital does is give these to the parents of the kids who have passed. I just hope that this small token of my time can bring some solace to those in mourning. I couldn't imagine the pain that they would be feeling.

To try and lighten the mood. I have made some note cards that I "stole" from Lauren. I just love her ideas and this month of template releases for Papertrey Ink is no exception. I gotta get my hands on those templates. Not to mention the stamps that they are coming out with. Have you been peeking in on their peeks? Oh My Gosh, is all I can say.

So these note cards are 4 1/2 X 2 3/4 and so easy to mass produce. I decided to make some thank you cards. Who doesn't need a stash of thank you cards, right? So easy peasy.
Here are the deets:

paper: PTI berry sorbet and SU! kraft

ink: Palette white and PTI berry sorbet

stamp: Gina K. Whimsical Autumn

ribbon and buttons I got from Wal-Mart. I also used my spica pens to outline part of the flower stems and vase.

I am very happy with these and may have to make a few more with the envelopes that Lauren shows you how to make for a gift this Christmas or birthday or mother's day, who knows?

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lesson learned

Happy Tuesday!!! Wooohooo!!! Busy day today. I had to get up early so I can take my husband to work this morning so I can have the truck. Yuck!!! I hate getting up early. I am SO not a morning person. I would almost go as far to say that I despise mornings. I have always been and probably always be a night owl. By 6pm today I will be knocked on my butt tired, but by say 9ish I will be wide awake and will not be able to fall asleep. This is how it goes for me. I have no idea why but that is how I am.

Today I have to take my oldest to his speech class. It only lasts about a half hour so my youngest and I hang out at the school while he is there.

Later this afternoon I have an eye appointment. Now, I can't believe it but I have been wearing glasses for about 26 years, ack!!! I have to see the eye doctor every year. Last year I was stubborn and didn't go (long story). My glasses ended up breaking recently (one ear piece just fell off my glasses). I have been wearing them to read and such since I NEED them. But it is so time to see the doctor now. I just hate going to see ANY doctor. Not happy about this.

Well, I haven't had much time or much mojo to be creative and...well...create. I made myself sit down at my desk last night and create a card. Yep, not a good idea unless you have something in mind. This is what I came up with. Although I am okay with how this card turned out I am sure it could have turned out better if I had a plan and didn't force it.

The deets:

paper:PTI summer sunrise, DCWV (not sure of the name, I got it a LONG time ago), and blue cardstock from Joann's.

ink:SU! brocade blue, PTI summer sunrise, and lemon tart.

stamp:Verve stamps Petals and stems

ribbon:target $1 spot

flowers: from Joann's

brads: joann's

pearls: self-adhesive from Michaels

That's about it for today. I hope to work on my mojo tonight and get something nice for you tomorrow but I have another busy day tomorrow as well, actually this whole week should be busy.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lavender and Lace...

Happy Monday all!!! I hope your day is going well so far and your weekend was great. Mine was a blah kinda weekend. Nothing special but not bad either. Church was kinda nerve racking because I had to teach a class. Now, I am not one for speaking in front of people so teaching other ladies something I am sure they already know is kinda unsettling for me. But they always say that they love when I teach and what a great job I do. So that is good. Too bad I am not going to be teaching anymore. I am in the primary working with the kids now. Of course, I am supposed to teach sharing time with them in 2 weeks. I am nervous about that too. Some of these kids know more about the gospel than I do. But I love it. I tell everyone. If we can make everyday Sunday and go to church and not have to worry about daily life. I would be so happy, seriously, I love being at church and all those great people.

But you guys didn't come here to hear about my weekend, right? I do have to warn you guys though. I am using my old reliable desktop computer instead of my new laptop. Why is this a big deal you ask? My laptop allows me to link to thinks. For some reason my desktop doesn't give me the option. So, I will do my best to give you guys the info you may want. I just can't link and I know that can be a pain when you want to see something and can't.

Today I am showing you a card I made for another Whiff of Joy challenge (http://wojmondaychallenge.blogspot.com/). The challenge this week was not a sketch. We are to use lavender and lace in our card. Of course, you need to use a whiff of joy stamp. Remember I said I didn't have any? Well, I borrowed my sisters and stamped them all a couple of times. Why not use them to try to win stamps, right?

I used Melinda hugging heart. She is just precious. Of course they all are. I just LOVE coloring these little girls. It is kinda therapeutic.

Here are all the deets:

paper:PTI sweet blush, stamper's select white, and DCWV nana's nursery
ink: palette black, PTI lavender moon
flowers:primas
brads:Queen & Co.
button:wal-mart
extras:thread (jewelry dept. at Michael's), lace (from my stash), sewn with my provo craft sewing machine, colored using prismacolor pencils and the glitter on her wings is some that my sister gave me for my birthday.

I forgot to mention too. My mom was kind enough to give me an old craft sewing machine that she wasn't using. It only does a straight stitch but now I get to sew on my cards WoooHooo!!! It was so fun and I have a feeling you are going to see a LOT more sewing on my cards hehehe.

New Whimsy Stamp

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope you had a great day yesterday. Mine went very fast. I had fun doing some shopping with my mom and being able to have lunch with my mom and dad. I even got to spend some time with my sister and niece. It was a great day. I just wish it didn't go by so fast AND I didn't loose my son's sunglasses.

My boys were born in Alaska (we do have sun year around) but not like Southern California does. Even I am having a hard time adjusting to all the bright sun we have here. We have gone through so many sunglasses with my boys isn't is ridiculous. I hate to keep buying glasses but then I feel bad for making them play outside in the bright sun when I don't even want to. I guess next time we are in town I am going to have to pick up yet another pair of glasses for my youngest son. Thank goodness they are pretty cheap.

On to my whimsy card. I started out using the CPS sketch (Card Positioning Systems). The sponsor this week is Keep in Touch. I thought the sketch was interesting and a great way to boost my creative mojo.

I got a Whimsy stamp in the mail a while back that I got from ATS (All that Scraps). This cute frog doesn't have a name, just Frog. But he is just so gosh darn cute. I am so going to have to get more of the animals in this collection.

I altered the sketch just a bit to fit my stamp. I used a 5" square card. I am very happy with how it turned out. Now I have to figure out who the lucky recipient will be.

Deets:

paper: SU! kraft, Marcella K (I saw another great paper pack from her at Target yesterday, yum), PTI spring moss and stampers select white.

ink: PTI ocean tides and palette black

ribbon: PTI srpring moss

copic markers to color the frog and lily pad.

No eye candy today

Hello everyone!!! I hope you have a great Thursday ahead of you. We are almost to the weekend Wooohooo!!!
I have projects but no time to show them to you today. I am taking my boys to visit my family for the day.
My hubby has his big promotion test tomorrow. The one good thing about the Air Force is that even though they have to test to get a promotion they do give them the day before off.
Today is the day off for my husband. Since peace and quiet is the best way to study and my boys are anything but, I have decided that we are going to spend the day outside our house. Since we are so close to my parents and sisters, why not go spend a fun filled day with them, right? Gotta get as much family time in before the military decides to move us again.
I will have the pictures taken and uploaded to my computer so you can see what I made with this weeks CPS (Card Positioning Systems) sketch, thank you Lorie for helping me with that.
Have a great day and if you remember please keep my hubby in your thoughts and prayers that he will be able to study efficiently and test well tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! We are half way there.
Yesterday wasn't the day I expected but it turned out better than how it started. For one I created. I haven't actually sat down to create something in several days. I know when I get in a slump it is because I haven't done much creating.
I was reading Keri Lee Sereika's blog and was going to go to the CPS blog to help me get in the creative mood and jump start my mojo. (I think I might do that later)
That is when I remembered a challenge. It is for Whiff of Joy stamps. They are looking for a guest designer for 2 months. You can find all the info required to enter here.
I will be honest. I have been eyeing a LOT of their stamps for quite a while now but just haven't gotten any of their stamps yet. Luckily my sister has a few and let me borrow hers. I couldn't decide which one to use so I stamped them all a couple of times and then set it aside.
Since I needed my mojo jump started and they had a sketch for you to go by AND the deadline is coming up quick I thought, what the heck.
If I do say so myself, I am very pleased with the outcome. She turned out just marvelously.
I love to read and have been delving into a lot of books lately so I thought what the heck and used this precious stamp for my challenge card. Her name is Melinda and she is just darling.
I thought these stamps would be very challenging to color but once I got started I just loved it and had a blast. I felt like I was a kid again, really. So much fun. The fun thing is that there are so many different images. I love the guardian angels and that is what most people know about Whiff of Joy. But they have so many other images. Cute little girl and boys, I just saw they have these adorable whimsical animals. They are just darling. I almost bought some a while back but again, didn't. I really need to start building up more of my stamps. I just feel so bad sometimes. I promise, I am working on getting more of a variety in my stamps for you to see. So keep checking in. Never know what you are going to find next.
Deets:
paper: SU! kraft, PTI chocolate remix, vintage cream, and DCWV Nana's Nursery baby girl
ink: palette black, PTI spring moss, spring rain, vintage cream and sweet blush
stamps: whiff of joy Melinda reading a book, PTI anniversary set (simple little things)
accessories: walmart button, walmart white flower sponged with sweet blush ink, diamond stickles and jewelry string from Michael's
image colored using prismacolor pencils
Alrighty, I don't think I missed anything. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Welcome baby

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a great Monday and plan on having an awesome Tuesday. No plans for us today. My boys are still a little stuffy and such. The sky looks promising to have a nice day but you never know. It could change in a heartbeat around here. It would be really nice to have a nice day. My cure all is some fresh air. Seriously, I think fresh air does wonders for the soul and repairs the mind. I say if anything, anything at all is ailing you, get some fresh air. It can't fix it but it can make you feel better, for a while at least. Try it next time and let me know if it helped.
So the card I have to show you today is the card I made for my brother and his family. I found an adorable outfit for my new niece that has a strawberry on it and says "I am Berry special" how cute is that. Of course since it had that I HAD to use the PTI punny valentine stamp set. It worked out perfectly.
Let me know if you like the idea of the deet list after the post of would you rather me explain things instead. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

A quickie post today...

Happy Monday all!!! I hope you have a good day today. I have to post quickly today. I have one really sick kiddo and one that is getting over a cold so I need to get this posted and then cater to my babies.

My youngest isn't a big deal because you wouldn't even know he was sick unless you heard him cough, sneeze or saw his runny nose.

My oldest, on the other hand, is bad. All he wants to do is lay around, doesn't want to eat, barely drinks anything. I have to coax him to do just about anything. But on the bright side, I get to do a lot of cuddling that I normally don't get to do.

So today I am showing you a gable box that I found on Jen Del Muro's blog I {heart} stamps. Again, the computer I am using doesn't allow me to link to anything but I am sure you can find it if you google either her name or the name of the blog.

With this template she gives you you are able to make 2 gable boxes out of one sheet of cardstock. Great idea in my opinion. I hate wasting paper.

I realized I don't have much for Easter when it comes to craft supplies but I did find this cute bunny I bought a long time ago. It is from C.C. Designs and is just adorable.

I am thinking about making a couple for my boys and putting Easter candy in it for them. I am sure anything with candy will be very exciting for my boys.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
