Wyoming in may?

Hello everyone!!!  I have been getting to posting later in the day.  It will probably be like that since my no so little guy is graduating from kindergarten next week.  It isn't like I have early morning with him since he is in PM kindergarten but because I won't have anything pressing I think we might be a little lazier in the mornings.

Today I am finally getting a scrapbook page done.  My husband has been bugging me for years about getting some scrapbooks done.  I think they are intimidating and with so much paper to cover I get nervous.  I am working on that though.  I realize that it is okay to have some white space on each page.
This one I created for the first offical pictures taken during our vacation to Wyoming.  It was taken in a very small town in Wyoming called Meeteetse.  Such a quaint town with an absolutely amazing chocolatier.  I will tell you this, next time we are that way we will definitely be stopping in again.  And when the weather cools down again and they start shipping I just might have to put in an order.
We stopped so I can visit the chocolatier and one last stop before we hit our destination, Cody, Wyoming.  We just happened to park right in front of this place that had some fun things set up.  They also had a wooden coffin but I thought that was a little morbid to be taking a picture of.
The PP is from a pack I picked up my last visit to Joann's it is from K & Co. and unless I missed something I cannot find a name for the pack.
Other than that I used PTI Hawaiian shores and kraft cardstock.  The cardboard letters I bought a long time ago from creative memories.  I inked that and the journal section with some Tim Holtz distress ink.  I love the look it gives with the pictures.  I also took the journal section and embossed some lines on it so I had something to go by when writing the things I chose to write on the page.
I can't wait to get started on more and also start my little man's baby book, afterall, he is almost 4 months old already.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

PTI Blog Hop Felt

Welcome everyone!!!  I know it is a late post.  Again I forgot about the PTI blog hop.  Thankfully my sister mentioned she was working on her project this morning so I had some time to get something together.
I decided to do a technique I used on a styrofoam wreath I worked on during Valentine's.
Without further ado, here is my card
I used some colors that Dawn McVey put together for PTI's color couture.  I started with a vintage cream base and them topped it with some berry sorbet cardstock that I embossed using my scor-pal.  I free-handed the spring moss "grass" and then sponged it with ripe avocado ink.
The stems were made with a stamp I found in the Paper Tray stamp set and the leaves were cut by hand and I used my copic marker (YG63 Pea Green) to make the veins.
The flowers are the felt that I cut into circles and folded in fours.  I then attached it to the card using some ripe avocado DMC floss.
The sentiment is from Floral Frenzy.  I cut out the sentiment using my nestability die and vintage cream cardstock.  The ribbon was on my desk and the brads were also in my stash.
I hope you like it and have fun during the hop.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Beautifully Divine

Happy Friday everyone!!!  I am so glad it is Friday but so gosh darn tired this morning.  My oldest usually goes to school in the afternoon, we have half day kinder here.  I am so NOT a morning person, neither is he.  That is why I knew we were doing PM kindergarten as soon as I found out.  Unfortunately sometimes, when they do minimum days, he has to go in during AM kindergarten hours.  Today they are doing some kind of Activity Day.  I would be there in a heartbeat but since I have my newest baby staying half a day at school is just not going to work.  It makes me very sad but I have learned to deal with it.
Getting up in time to have my oldest at school by 8AM may not sound bad but for me it is a struggle, for both of us.  I am not looking forward to all day school next year just for that fact.

Today, though, I wanted to show you something I made last night.  My church tries to have what we call Enrichment night once a month.  It is a time for us sisters to get together and grow spiritually and have some fun as well.  It was awesome to be with other ladies who understand me.  I had to take my little man but no one cared because either they had their babies there or they were loving on mine.
Last night was about being beautifully divine and trying to define what that meant.  My friend gave the message that we are like pearls.  Not the fake pearls that are perfectly round and symmetrical but the real pearls that are odd shaped.  We are more beautiful and precious being who we are than trying to be someone we are not.  I loved it and it was so awesome to hear that.  I have a hard time not comparing myself to others so it was nice to hear that we need to stop being so hard on ourselves and be who we are.  That our Heavenly Father loves us with our mistakes and all.  He isn't judging us and comparing us to everyone else, putting us in order of who he loves more.  He is our Father, he will love us however we are.

So, to help us remember the beautiful message shared we all got to make pearl bracelets.  It was so much fun talking to other moms and making something so beautiful.  I might have to make a few more jewelry pieces, especially now that I have learned a few things.  I thought making jewelry was like stringing beads on a thread but it is a bit more complicated that that.  I actually messed up even after she warned us.  I strung my beads, had them help me end it and when all was said and done I fogot to make sure the bracelet was actually going to fit.  Thankfully it just barely fit.  I am lucky too because I even "stole" a few beads from another lady who had more than she needed.  If I hadn't have had those 2 extra I would have had to give mine away to my niece or something.  Now, I just get to make her her own and who knows who else.
Have a great weekend!!!

Wplus9 Color Cue

Hello everyone.  Today is Wednesday.  In a way the week is flying by.  I was afraid it was going to go super slow since we had such a short week last week.  Time is flying by for me.  I can't believe that in 2 and a half weeks my oldest son will be a kindergarten graduate.  When did that happen.  It feels like just yesterday I was bawling over the fact that he was starting kindergarten.  I am so proud of him though.  He has graduated from speech therapy a long time ago and is doing so well.  His writing and reading has grown leaps and bounds.  His self-esteem is so strong, sometimes too strong :)

Anyway, on to the card for today.  I am participating in another Color Cue from Wplus9.  I really hope to get at least one of their stamp sets soon so I can play with them as well as doing the challenge.
The colors for this challenge are as follows:
I used PTI's stampers select white, enchanted evening, lemon tart and spring rain/stampin' up's bliss blue.

I started with the white cardbase at 4 1/4 square.  I used enchanted evening next and then a layer of spring rain stamped using versamark with BB:hearts stamp set.  I also took the circle stamp from Round & Round and randomly stamped that on top of the text using lemon tart ink.

The main image is from Round & Round in enchanted evening.  I stamped the center in lemon tart but it was light so I stamped over it again with Stampin' Ups bliss blue ink and then inked around it with lemon tart.
The bottom is a layer of lemon tart cardstock that I spiffed up with a white gel pen and then took a copic marker and colored in between the ines.  The ribbon is from my stash.
The sentiment is from Round & Round as well, stamped in enchanted evening.
I took a button I had in my stashe and tied it on with the equivelant of white, spring rain and enchanted evening DMC floss.  I would have used lemon tart as well but it appears that I am out of that one.  Guess I have another excuse to go craft shopping this weekend.
That about does it for this card.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

A new card

*FYI: I actually typed up this post on Friday but didn't take a picture of the card until Sunday so that is why it is just now going live*

Well, I made some time to play a little yesterday and no it doesn't use the latest PTI anniversary set.  I do recommend that if you didn't earn it to check out their forum.  There are several people selling them.
I decided to make a card using the set "Through the trees"  I love that set.  I know a lot of people think of it as a masculine set but why not pretty it up a bit.  Well, in my case I kinda dirtied it up a bit but I love how it turned out.

I started with Hawaiian Shores card stock and used some PP I had in my stash.  From there I took some more hawaiian shores and topped that with some kraft cardstock.  On the kraft I stamped the tree image in hawaiian shores ink and then added some birds with versamark.  To dingy up the edges I took my versamark ink pad and rubbed it along the edges and then took some Tim Holtz distress ink and just lightly rubbed it right along the edge being careful not to go passed the edge.
The sentiment is from "Through the trees" as well.  I used the same technique as I did for the image.  For some extra layers I used some brads I had in my stash to attach the sentiment to the card.  That is about it for this one but am pleased with how it turned out since it has been so long since I have crafted much of anything.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Back...kinda

Hello everyone!!!  I have missed everyone and the wonderful things I have missed while I was gone.  I have a lot to sort out but hope to be back posting soon.
The reason I was gone...well, we took a trip.  For the first time as a family of five we took a road trip to Wyoming.  It was the place my husband and I planned on retiring to before moving to Alaska.  We still would LOVE to live in Wyoming but not just anywhere in Wyoming, Cody, Wyoming.  That is the main reason why my first son's name is Cody.
We drove through Utah and it was beautiful but we started getting snowed on very quickly.  We expected that when we stopped for the night in Provo, Utah and checked the weather.
It snowed off and on the whole time we were there and it was wonderful.  I miss seeing the snow so much.  I wish it snowed here.  I just have to be patient and wait until we can move to another place that snows.
I will leave with a few pictures of our trip and hope to get scrapbooking it soon.
This is a view from the Buffalo Bill Dam
This is a turn out just down the road from the Dam

Sad time

Today will be the last post I share until next week.  I will explain more about it when the time is right.
I do want to share with you a card I made for one very wonderful lady we go to church with.  She actually taught my oldest son when we first arrived here in California and taught my middle son last year.  She is a wonderful lady and I am so glad to be able to know her.
Last Thursday she lost her husband to a heartattack.  He went to church with us too but due to health issues I wasn't able to know him as well as I would have liked.  We are also going to have to miss his funeral which is tomorrow.  That also makes me very sad.
Since this card is self-explantory and I am at a loss for words due to this sad event I am going to leave you with the card and hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend.  I will see you next week.
