8X11 Box

Hello everyone!!!  I hope you had a great weekend.  This week is going to be pretty crazy for me.  I sure hope that makes the week go by fast.  I do plan on going to the movies on Wednesday though.  The plan is to go down and get a haircut and see "Eclipse" with my mom and my niece.  I am actually looking forward to it.
So today I am finally able to show you a box I had made a while back.  I wanted a box to put the Amish bread starter in.  I thought that I would try my hand at making my own box.  I just wanted to use one sheet of cardstock and all my templates use two.  So, I set out to make one.  I did, however, it was too small to fit the starter in.
I figured I would continue to make it though, decorate and use it for something else.  I stayed the night at my sisters house Friday night and went to a performance for my niece on Saturday.  As a thank you for putting myself and 3 sons up for a night I left the box for my sister.
I started with some kraft cardstock.  Stamped the background image using Wplus9 background stamp using tim holtz distress ink.
The medallion was made using spring moss cardstock cut out using a nestability and stamped with another background stamp and then embossed with kaleidoscope embossing powder.  I then used a Waltzing Mouse stamp, stamped on terracotta tile cardstock and then cut out by hand because I do not have the nestability to match.  The butterfly was a sticker I bought from Michael's.
I am very pleased with how this turned out and might have to make more.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
