Seeing double

Happy Thursday everyone!!!  I hope you are all having a wonderfully productive week.  I guess I am still learning a few things about having 2 rambunctious boys and a newborn.  It seems I have a LOT to learn still.  Hopefully it comes to me soon.  Otherwise I am nto sure what I am going to do  :)
Today I am showing you a couple of thank you cards I came up with.  While laying down trying to come up with a layout for thank you cards I came up with something like this.  I just added a few more elements that I love.  I am so pleased with these.
The cardstock is PTI stone, spring moss, and aqua mist.  The patterned paper is called linen closet, I think, but I can't remember the brand.  My sister and I shared a 12X12 pack we found at a Joann's.
The ribbon I had in my stash and the butterfly was punched using a Martha Stewart punch.  The filagree is from PTI's Silent Night stamp set.  Then I just used stickles in gold and blue.  So simple and lovely.  Oh yeah, and the border punch is also from Marth Stewart, possibly my favorite border stamp I own, which really isn't saying much.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

3 weeks

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!  How was your Monday's?  It wasn't too bad around here.  I am trying to get into a groove but with 3 kids and a schedule that never stays the same it can be kinda difficult.
Unfortunately I do not have anything crafty to show you today.  I just didn't get to create yesterday.  It was a busy one.  I hope to make something today but it might be even busier than it was yesterday.
Today, though, my baby, Garrett, turns 3 weeks old already.  Three weeks may not seem like a long time but when it comes to babies it sure flies by.  He has changed so much in the 3 weeks that he has been a part of our family.
He was born at 8 lbs 1 oz, and dropped to 7 lbs 8 oz (I think that is the lightest he got).  We had an appointment yesterday and they weighed him in at a whopping 8 lbs 12 oz.  Holy cow!!!  Just one week ago we were at the doctor's making sure his little boy part was healing and they weighed him in at 7 lbs 14 oz.  So about a pound in about a week.  He really is quite the eater.
Here is a picture my sister was able to snap of him over Valentine's weekend.

Thank you

It is Monday, let's all hope that it is the best Monday we could have.  Thank you for taking time out of your Monday to visit with me.  I am very grateful.
As you may know I have many, many thank you notes to get together and sent out.  The lovely young women at my church threw me and another wonderful lady, who had a baby girl just a few weeks before I had Garrett, a baby shower at the church last Tuesday.  Sadly, I have only gotten one thank you card done.  I guess I better get cracking.
Todays card is simple and fun.  I love how easily it came together but I also love the non-traditional patterned paper that I used.  Of course, it only works with boys unless you have some pink camo patterned paper.  I used this layout from another card/blog that I read daily.  If it is yours please let us know and I apologize for not remembering.
Since it is fairly simplistic and I should be doing other things I am going to leave you with the eye candy for today.  Have a great Monday!!!

Late Valentine's

Oh my goodness!!!  I feel like I am completely out of the loop.  Yesterday started the first day of being home alone with my 3 boys.  It was a crazy day filled with doctor's appointments and such.  I loved it though and it seemed to be easier than I expected.  I just haven't gotten caught up with anything yet.  I am beginning womder if I ever will.  I have been doing laundry everyday since I have gotten home from the hospital, at least it feels like it.
Today though I wanted to show you the card I made for my husband for Valentine's day.  We spent most of it apart since he was on a hunting trip and I decided to spend the weekend with my sister and her family so I had a bit of help before jumping into motherhood of 3.
I don't have a whole lot of time to share all the details so if you have a question about somethng please leave a comment with the question or feel free to email me.
Also just wanted to say that Valentine's Day is special for my husband and I because that is the day he proposed to me.  I can't believe it has been 8 years already.  It was lovely, in my parents backyard sitting on a bench swing that I had always loved.
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Kindergarten Valentine's

Hello everyone!!!  I am so excited to be back home and crafting again.  We had to spend an extra day in the hospital since Garrett was a bit jaundice.  He still has it a bit but things are looking good.  He is such a great sleeper and allows me at least 3 hours of sleep in a row through the night.  I couldn't have asked for anything better.  He is just perfect.
Today I am showing off the first card/project I have made since having my precious little boy.  And keep stopping by because I have a few thank yous to make up as well.
This card I made for my niece's kindergarten class.  She lives in Wisconsin and her kindergarten class is celebrating their 100 days of school near Valentine's day.  Her teacher has decided to ask friends/family of the children in her class to send cards.  They will be studying the places on the map where the cards come from.  It is times like this that I truly wish we lived in Alaska still.  How neat would that be?

This card started because of a card I saw on the cover of my PaperCrafts magazine.  I think it was a Dawn McVey card actually.  I just added a couple things and changed some of the stamp sets and colors.  The base is kraft cardstock.  I stamped the hearts border in brilliance white.  The scallop edge is scarlet jewel punched with my fiskars border punch.  The rest is hibiscus burst stamped with text in versamark ink.  The ribbon is some that was on a Christmas present I received.  I used a Vintage holiday button and tied it with pure poppy dmc floss.
The most exciting part is that the labes I found at Joann's.  It seems that Joann's has now decided to sell spellbinders products.  I have been eyeing a lot of the labels dies from spellbinders but since budget is extremely tight (especially now with 3 bosy :D  ) I had to wait.  So when I saw that Joann's had this set I had to pick it up because I had a coupon.  I love it.  I have more coupons too.  Since I will be spending next weekend at my sister's house we plan to make a trip to a very large Joann's and get some more.
Okay, back to the card.  The cupcake was stamped with black staz-on using tiny treats valentine's (borrowed from my sister).  That is about it for this card but I am very please since I have been out of the craft area in quite a while.  I hope to see you back here tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Hearts

Thanks to the many websites I frequent, I came across this blog.  She is a working mom who doesn't have a whole lot of time to craft but loves to.  She searches the web for easy and fun crafts that she hopes to be able to make someday.  She featured this wreath a while back and I fell in love with it and knew I had to make one of my own.  It was actually very easy to do but very time consuming as well.  I think it took me two days to completely finish the project.  I added a few embelishments I had in my stash to make it more my own.  I do want to tell you that the circles do not have to be perfect.  I did have a few circles that had notches out of two sides, so it looked more like an hour glass than a circle.  Also, the amount of circles that you need is entirely up to how tight you want the wreath to look.  I ended up with some that were really close and tight and others that were loose and farther apart.  I just love how it turned out.

I do want to leave with a special message to my mom.  Happy Birthday!!!  I sincerely hope you are able to find some time for yourself today.  I thought we were going to have a baby for a birthday present but things are not working out that way.
