Almost all PTI for a non-PTI challenge

Happy day to you all!!! Thank you for the well wishes. My youngest is doing much better and just about over his sickies. My oldest is still in the mist of it but I think he is headed for recovery as well. He still has a bad cough but he is getting medicine and with the sleep I am making him get he should be done by the end of the week *crossing my fingers*.

My headache finally died away last night so that was nice as well. The only weird thing is that after my headache was easing up I got a bad case of the quesies. My headaches make me feel sick to my stomach but it seemed to get worse after my headache started to go away. That is very strange. I woke up still feeling a little sick to my stomach. I guess I will take some more pepto and hope it goes away.

I was able to get in some crafting last night though. It felt good to get back to my work but it was hard to get started. My sister directed me to a challenge blog "Caardvarks" that was offering some goodies from Taylored Expressions. A new stamp set called "Whimsical Wishes".

The challenge the posed was to make a project using a tree. I was excited because I have not yet got to experience any of Taylor's stamps. Plus, I have a tree stamp from PTI that I have inked up but has been neglected lately.

I wasn't sure what I was going to do but I did know I wanted to use my new cardstock from PTI and the new ink pad that I got in my last order as well.

I am happy with how it turned out but in my opinion it is obvious that my mojo needs a little help.

My goodness!!! I was doing some blog surfing and found this cool blog challenge called "365 cards" It looks awesome and I look forward to doing more with them. Their challenge is to use a leaf on a project. Well, since I made this tree card for "Caardvarks" that has leaves on it I had to enter it into that challenge as well. Go check them out here. It is great.

deets:

stamps: PTI father knows best, simple little things, boxes, bags and tags

paper: PTI guide lines II, spring moss, kraft, Joann's pink cardstock

ink: PTI spring moss, hibiscus burst, tim holtz distress ink (tea dye)

threading water border punch, spring moss ribbon, SU! linen thread

Have a great Wednesday!!! As always, thanks for stopping by!!!

Just a quote

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all having a great Tuesday. I woke up with a little bit of a headache and my headaches turn into migraines. Since I am not feeling well, I have been feeling a little queasy lately, I am taking some time to relax.

Both of my boys have a little of the sickies too. Since it is nice and windy in our lovely desert oasis (that is definitely a tongue in cheek comment for me) we are taking the day to relax and get better. I even called in sick for my son's speech class today. Don't want to transfer those germs to the other kiddos that my son has speech therapy with.

But I was browsing some craft blogs today and found a quote that I really liked. Lori from Live-Love-Laugh-Create had a bible verse on her blog and it kinda fit with my mood today so I decided to share it with all of you as well.

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:5-8)

May we all remember that to be like God we need to humble ourselves like Jesus did. I know I work on myself everyday of my life.

Fairy Eva/Anya Stamp

Happy Monday everyone!!! I certainly hope you had a wonderful weekend. It was really nice and crazy at the same time here. We got a lot accomplished but still have a lot more to do.

Friday my son's T-ball game got cancelled due to wind. Yeah, we live in the dessert and get a LOT of wind. My son was so disappointed. I don't even think the wind was that bad. I see it is windy again today and I am worrying that they are going to cancel the game AGAIN today. I certainly hope not. My son would be crushed. After all, we have a very short season and any games that we miss are not going to be made up so that just shortens his t-ball season. And since this is his first season I don't know how he would handle 2 games in a row being cancelled. But that is enough of what is going on here.

Last night I realized that today was Monday and I had nothing to show you. Then I remembered that I have a Greeting Farm stamp that I haven't inked yet. So of course I had to get her all inked up.

I also have to say that I am so happy with Staz-on ink. I am not one to jump on the bandwagon right away. I wait it out and then see how it is received. I am loving my staz-on so much that when I was at a craft store afterwards I looked for some white staz-on. Right now I am just looking for white but am sure going to have to try more later.

Okay, so today I used some new stamps and punches that I have. I love it. The Greeting Farm stamps are just lovely and after playing with these two I am going to have to get more for sure.

Here are the deets:

paper: PTI vintage cream, Joann's brand cardstock and PTI SS white.

ink: PTI melon berry, ripe avocado, Palette black, staz-on black

stamps: The greeting farm fairy eva, PTI spots & dots, paper tray

prima flowers, martha stewart butterfly punch, copic markers, liquid pearls, joann's brads, organdy ribbon, linen thread.

Papertrey Ink First Blog Hop entry

Happy Weekend!!! Wooohooo!!! I am a little out of sorts today. My brain is having a hard time grasping the fact that I am blogging and it is Saturday. I am excited though. I love blogging and I love the things you learn and find out in the blogging world. I am so happy to be a part of it.

Anyway, I don't blog on the weekends because that is my family time but this time I am making an exception. Today is the 25th of the month which means that it is time for Papertrey Inks monthly blog hop. Every month Papertrey issues a challenge for anyone with a blog who wants to participate. You add your name to the list and post your challenge on your board. Every month this is tons of fun and prizes to be had.
The challenge for this month is to make ANYTHING with any of Lauren's templates. They do have two you can buy for free so there really is no excuses.

So when I heard what the challenge is I had to figure out what I was going to do. I have EVERY one of Lauren's templates and have used almost every single one of them as well.
I figured since I heard about this challenge after this month's PTI stamp release I would use one of the new templates they just released as well.

I used "From the Desk of" to hold my list of families birthday's. I think it works great for that. In the front is the 12 months with a space to write everyone's birthday on and in the back is a few cards and envelopes that I can just grab, write a short note on and then get them out in the mail quickly.
I am so pleased with what I did. I wanted something that worked for me but a little different too. I am trying to go outside of my comfort zone with colors and patterns. I am glad I did. I think it turned out beautifully.

I wanted to point out too, after I finished putting it all together I though of something. If I were to do this again I would do it before it is all together so it looks neater. I cut another small piece of ribbon and glued it into the front part of the file. This now holds my pen in place so I always have one close.
Here are the deets:
paper: PTI kraft, spring moss, lavender moon, DCWV brown, PP from Me & my big ideas
ink:PTI ocean tides, spring moss, palette brown, Tim Holtz tea dye
stamps: PTI polka dot basics, floral frenzy
Lavender moon ribbon
making memories button
SU! linen thread

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday Keeper

Happy Friday everyone!!! I tell you, I need it to be Friday. It has been one heck of a week, but then again, when are they not when you have kids, right?

The good thing going on around here is the weather. It is awesome. We had some hot days there in the beginning of the week but now it is cool, there is a breeze and the birds are chirping. We might go and get a hummingbird feeder because my hubby has seen several hummingbirds around the house. I also noticed that a LOT of our neighbors also have hummingbird feeders in their yards. We already have a bird feeder but it would be neat to also more welcome the hummingbirds into our yard.

Tonight is my oldest son's second T-ball game. I am so proud of him. He is LOVING playing baseball. In fact, he loves it so much that he doesn't want any of his teammates to get the ball. I don't know how many times we had to tell him to allow his teammates to get the ball and to stop fighting over it. Wednesday night he had practice again and his coaches had to tell him to stop fighting over the ball. Of course, he is also a social butterfly and didn't stay one place out on the field during practice. I had to watch my youngest at the same time so if my eyes left the field by the time I got back he was in a different position.

Oh, not only do we have a lot of birds around our house we also have a TON of ladybugs. They are all over our yard and while oldest was practicing my youngest was catching butterflies. He was doing so well and then I heard him stopping on the cement. Yep, he killed the poor thing. I guess it is just too tempting for a boy.

So would you all like to see my project for today now? Hehehe I actually have a teaser. What I am showing you today is a tease for the project that I have made for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop that will be starting Saturday night. This will be the first time I participate. I certainly encourage you to participate if you can. The challenge is to use one of Lauren's templates, easy peasy, right?

My family is a decent size family. With us kids getting older and having kids of our own it is getting more and more difficult to remember everyone's birthdays (it doesn't help that I am getting older hehehe). A while back Nichole from Papertrey Ink challenge the design team to come up with a good way to keep track of everyone's birthdays.

With this blog hop coming up I decided that now is a good time to get something together that works for me. So that is exactly what I did. I am pleased with it but not ecstatic. It will work though and that is what I am happy about.

So here are the deets:
stamps: PTI polka dot basics, Ambassador Monogram Edition,
ink: Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink, palette dark brown, PTI lavender moon
paper: PTI kraft, SS white, plum pudding
twill ribbon from Michael's and brads (not sure where those came from).

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow night for the Blog Hop.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Simple Lauren Sketch

Happy Thursday everyone!!! Man am I glad that yesterday is over with. It was to be a crazy day anyway because we had a lot of things to do last night but it got even crazier than anticipated so I am extremely glad to be done with it. The only problem is that I didn't have much time to craft yesterday and today I am beyond tired. Good thing the only thing I have to do is take my oldest to speech class today.

I did make a card to show you today. It seems that since I was able to do a few challenges in one I had nothing to show you like I thought I would. So, I just reused one of Lauren's sketches but mixed it up a bit. The card today uses the same sketch that I used for yesterday's card.

Like I said, I am pretty exhausted so I don't have much to say today. I will leave you with the picture and the deets.

stamp: the greeting farm's flutter anya

ink: staz-on black, PTI spring moss
paper: PTI berry sorbet, SS white, lemon tart, DCWV (can't remember the name)
copic markers, spica glitter pens, self-adhesive pearls

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Another 2-in-1

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! I have a VERY busy day today so I am getting this typed up a little early so you don't have to wait until who knows when to see this.

I have another card that I used Lauren's Saturday Sketch for. I LOVE how this one turned out and it is awesome. I am really excited that Lauren is trying something new with her Saturday challenges and that she is opening up a design team call as well. I love what Lauren does with paper and it would be an honor to be able to work with her on a regular basis.

Here is her sketch:

Here is my card:

This is also a card I am entering into a Copic challenge. They are here. The challenge this week was to color jeans. Thankfully my sister has a LOT of copics (at least more than I do) and let me borrow some of her blues to color some jeans. The rest of the copics are mine and I LOVE how the coloring went. I also used some Spica Glitter pens as well.

Here are the deets:
stamp: Whiff of Joy, Verve stamps:petals and stems
ink: Palette black, PTI ripe avocado
paper: PTI spring moss, vellum, SS white, and Marcella K PP
Bridal flowers from Michael's, Making memories buttons, SU! linen thread

The cool thing to is that the copic challenge was to color jeans. When I was looking for buttons I happened to see that these buttons had writing on them. These buttons, since you can't probably read it, says "Faded Glory Jeans Co."

Well, I believe that is it for now. Thanks for stopping by!!!

2 challenges in one

*Second post of the day*

Holy Moly!!! I actually did it. I am so happy with myself. My mojo must love to have to be backed up against a wall. Not only did I make a card with 2 challenges in one card but I made TWO cards using two different challenges per card. I am so excited to show you the first one.
This card was made using one of Lauren's sketches for a design team call for her Saturday Challenges. She is starting up something new. A different kind of challenge every Saturday and if you want to officially participate then go to her blog and find out all the details.

The other challenge is the Whiff of Joy challenge. The challenge there was to use black, white and one accent color. This one had me stuck for a while. Are you serious? Just one accent color? Have you looked at these stamps? There is just so much to color and I LOVE them. The only thing I could think of to do is to use one color and color some of the picture. I am very happy with how this turned out.

Okay, here are the deets:
stamps: Whiff of Joy, PTI polka dot basics
ink: Palette black, Staz-on jet black, PTI plum pudding
paper: PTI SS white, Quickutz black, $1 target pp
copics, clear glitter pen, prima flowers, Michael's self-adhesive pearls

Alrighty, tomorrow I will show you the other card I made today using 2 different challenges again. I love it.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Bragging and Lacking

<---Before the game

<----His first time on the bases

<---After running the bases

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I am going to spend a few minutes bragging after I explain the lacking part.

Right now I am without a project to show you and this is why. Yesterday morning I woke up with a headache and spent most of the morning trying to make it go away since my oldest had a T-ball game, his first, last night. Finally after tylenol, excedrin, caffeine soda and chocolate bar, I made myself get up and do some chores I had to do around the house. Thankfully the time spent on those projects helped me forget about my headache and then it was gone. So, I was set to go to my son's T-ball game, granted with a slight allergy issue but I had taken something for that as well.

Sitting on a blanket in the grass surrounded by bugs was not a good thing for me. My allergy issue went into full gear and by the time the game was over I was ready to go to bed. I was drained, literally. It took all I had to entertain my sister and her family, get my boys fed, and finish the macaroni salad I had started earlier that day. On top of feeling so tired and worn out I also had a little bit of the queasiness going on. I tell ya, it wasn't a good night but I did my best to make the best of it. I hope that my sister and her family understands. The next game they come to should be better than last night.

My son had THE best time and so did I. It was amazing to watch him play in a game and have a blast out there. I was glad that they didn't count outs. Yes, the kids practiced getting the other team out but whether they were out or not didn't matter, they still ran the bases. My son played Short Stop and then Pitcher with a couple other kids. Play pitcher was more fun because that is where most of the balls got hit to. BUT and I stress the but, my son wanted to add wrestling to the game. He kept fighting with his friend for the ball. He refused to let anyone else play. It was kinda embarrassing but funny. I think he literally tackled with his friend twice for the ball. I am just so proud of him. If I can blame it on hormones I will, but I really had to choke back the tears after the game. My boy is growing up and getting bigger. He is playing T-ball now. Before I know it he will be in kindergarten and then it is a losing battle for me after that. I am a mommy who is trying to hold on to her babies.

Well, after all that, I am sharing a few pictures from the game. I do have a couple of projects I hope to get to today. I got some yummy Anya stamps in the mail yesterday and they are dying to be inked up. Please check back later for at least one. I do have to take my oldest to speech today so it won't be until later in the day more than likely.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Whimsy challenge

Happy Monday everyone!!! We had a great weekend. A really HOT weekend but it was fun. Just had to run into town for a few things and then back home to relax and enjoy the weekend.

Saturday night we took the boys to the soccer field (where they play T-ball) and let my oldest play some T-ball, get him used to hitting off a "T" and then throwing the ball. It was a really fun family activity and I am so glad that we took the time to do it.

Today, and the rest of the week, I have a challenge to share with you. This one, today, is for the Whimsy stamps challenge blog. This is a new blog they started and the first challenge they are doing. It is called Occasion Celebration. You are to make a card or other project for a special occasion or a celebration.

I decided to use the newest of Lauren's My Timeless Templates box template to make a goody bag to give out at a birthday party (or other party).

I love how it turned out and because of it I had an excuse to buy something I have been putting off, Staz-on ink. I know, I can be so behind of things but I had no reason to buy it so I didn't. This time I wanted to do something special (and I had a coupon) so I went ahead with my idea to make a window and use vellum to stamp my froggie on.

Here are the deets and be sure to check out the challenge. Like I said, I have many more challenges to do this week and might have a day or so with 2 posts so keep checking in :)

paper: PTI kraft, Marcella K, PTI vellum

ink: staz-on jet black

stamps: Whimsy frog, PTI polka dot basics

ribbon is from Michaels, buttons are from making memories (chloe's closet), the frog is colored using kho-i-noor (another new buy thanks to a coupon), the flower is making memories, and the thread is from Michael's used for jewelry, I also used my crop-a-dile and eyelets to make a whole for the ribbon which holds the top down.

Just wanted to leave you with another picture of the adorable frog from Whimsy. Isn't he cute??? All of their precious animals are adorable and I am loving Connor and Emma.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Late Mojo

Happy Friday everyone!!! Wooohooo!!! Who isn't happy that today is Friday? Not me, I am so excited. I so need a break this weekend and that is all we have planned. Actually we don't have anything planned and I need a weekend like that before my life gets crazy.

T-ball is dominating our lives already. I cannot believe it is as bad as it is. I thought, sure a few days no biggie. Now I know what it is like to be a Mommy with a lot to do. I am loving it though. I love seeing my son so happy and excited about something.

I don't have a whole lot of time to post today. I have to go see the dreaded dr. Really, I hate doctors. It isn't the person really. It is just that I don't like what they may or may not find. I stress, about everything, and doctors are you of the things I stress about. My blood pressure is no good when I go to the doctors.

I didn't want to leave your eyes missing something so I am posting the picture and then I will be back later to post all the deets for it. I hope you enjoy it. I am pleased with how it turned out.

okay, I am back. The doctor's went over as usual so it took longer than expected to get back home. I am glad to be home though and can finally try to relax the rest of the day.

oh, and a side note, the layout is from a mojo sketch from Poetic Artistry that I didn't get a chance to participate in.

deets:

paper: SU! kraft, PTI lemon tart and $1 spot at target

ink: palette black and versamark, pti lemon tart

stamps: c.c. designs, pti boxes, bags, and tags

extras: OCL sparkly fluff, black fun flock, $1 ribbon at Michaels, crystal stickles, prima flowers, joann's brads

Magnolia

Hello everyone!!! It is Thursday, the week is almost over!!! I am so excited. It has been a crazy week. But it has also been calmer than our weeks are going to be from now on. My oldest start his t-ball games Monday and then we will be busy every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. But I also know it is going to be fun and he is already having a blast so it is all worth it.

Today I have a fun card for you. I have been looking and looking at Magnolia stamps for a long time and finally got one. I was so excited that when it came in the mail, migraine or not, I had to ink it up and play.

I used a layout that I used before on a sketch challenge. It actually turned out better than I thought because, to me, it looks like she is sitting on the paper.

Well, I think I am going to leave the words to a minimum and get the deets to you.

deets:

paper: PTI lemon tart, DCWV (not sure of the name of the pack), DCWV hot cocoa aka latte

ink: PTI plum pudding, palette black

extras: copic markers, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, making memories thread, liquid pearls

91 years

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! What a great week has turned out to be. I tell you, going to church and being spiritually recharged and then getting up early and doing a few minutes of workout is just amazing. I didn't mention in my last post but Monday I did wake up with a migraine which made the first half of my day horrible but I made myself get out of a funk. It helps when you get new stamps and copics in the mail hehehe. I will share more about that tomorrow.

Today I am going to share with you the card I made my Grandmother for her 91st Birthday last Saturday. It was an awesome day with family. My Grandmother amazes me. For 91 she is still really aware of things and although she does have some medical issues she is doing real well. I can't wait to share another wonderful year with her.

For the card I wanted to use melon berry since I got it and still haven't used it. I don't know what it is I just haven't grabbed for it yet. But I LOVE it. I do have to say though, I made this card at my sisters house so I still haven't used MY melon berry ink pad.

It was fun to use all of my sisters goodies though. She jokes that you can go shopping in her craft room. I would have to say that I agree with that. With me I am a penny pincher and not much finances to support my stamping habit so when I get to go to her house and craft I get excited because I get to use all the tools or supplies I haven't yet been able to either afford or force myself to buy.

I love how this turned out and so glad I got to share it with my Grandmother. I love her dearly. I just wish I had gotten a picture of her with my boys. It would make for a very cherished memory.

Here are the deets:
paper: PTI kraft, stampers select white, aqua mist, melon berry.
stamps: PTI life and birthday basics
ink: PTI melon berry and true black
flowers: I am sure are primas
extras: silver brads (have no idea, my sisters stash) and shimmerz

Simple Easter Baskets

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Sorry I wasn't here yesterday to show off the Easter baskets I made for my boys. They really are nothing special. I know my boys and how they treat things so I went very simple. Just the base template from Lauren's My Timeless Templates with some sponging and a couple of screw brads to fasten on the handle. The boys loved them though and were so excited that the Easter bunny visited them.

There were a lot more jelly beans in there but the boys got a hold of them right away and had them basically eaten right away. Also, the "grass" is edible. I found it at Joann's but also saw it at Michael's.

I am leaving you with a picture of my boys on Easter "Saturday" hehehe, since that is when we celebrated Easter.

I have pictures of the card I made my grandmother for her 91st birthday to show you yesterday so please come back for that.
I am not going to give the deets since there really isn't anything to tell, very simple I tell ya.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Teaching gift

Happy Friday everyone!!! Okay, who else is so happy that today is Friday??? I am especially happy about today. For one, almost all my stress is about to go away. There isn't a whole lot more I can do about everything that I had planned, so whether it gets done or not is okay with me at this point.

For another thing, my hubby is home from work today. With everything we had to do with week he took a day off so we can make sure it all gets done. Who doesn't love a 3 day weekend?

Tonight is my oldest son's first T-ball opening ceremony. My sister and her family are coming with my Grandmother to share in his excitement. I do need to ask you all one favor though. The clouds are hanging around and there is a threat of rain so if you don't mind joining me in praying that the rain either holds off until after the ceremony tonight or that it doesn't come at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

Plus, tomorrow we celebrate my Grandmother's 91st birthday tomorrow. You know I will be bringing my camera so I will definitely be sharing pictures here on Monday. We are also celebrating Easter at my sister's house tomorrow as well. So that means lots and lots of pictures to share on Monday. That also means I might not have anything to share with you crafty-wise. Oh, yes I will. I will show you the baskets I made for my boys for Easter.

Okay onto today's project. I am not sure if I mentioned this but I was asked to teach our Relief Society lesson in church on Sunday. I actually hold two callings right now, I think. I am the Relief Society teacher and the Primary Secretary for the little kiddos. I love both callings so I am excited about anything they ask me to do.
To go along with the lesson I am teaching I thought it would be neat to make bookmarks for all the ladies at church (since those are the ones I am teaching). I found a wonderful scripture at the back of the lesson that I think pretty much summed up what we were trying to get across. So, I typed it up in Word and printed it out and then made wonderful bookmarks for all the ladies. I am also going to give one to my Grandmother for her birthday along with a subscription to the church magazine since she isn't able to go to church anymore. I hope she is happy with it. It is just so hard to think of something for someone who isn't able to get out much. I have made cards and such before but you can only get excited about so many cards, right?

I do have to say, I am not sure about the deets though. I pretty much just started grabbing things since I had to make so many. In the picture there are 8 bookmarks but rest assured I have LOT more to make before Sunday. Good thing they actually come together fairly easy and all the stamping is done.

I do want to tell you though, the filigree stamp was stamped with a new stamp set I got at Michael's. I feel kinda bad getting it though. I feel like I am cheated PTI and Lisa Johnson out of some money. The set is by Autumn Leaves and is called Pretty Poppies. Of course I still want to get Lisa Johnson's Poppy set from PTI but this is nice until then.

Alright, I think that is it for now. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Happy Thursday everyone!!! I feel like I haven't accomplished anything at all. But such is life. One thing got taken off my list so I shouldn't stress about that but I am thinking about adding something back on. It shouldn't really be a big deal but who knows.

Yesterday was a day I am glad that is over. Last night I think I figured out why things are all screwy in my house. I hope I have found the answer and after this weekend we will all be ready for the week again. Okay, I guess I can delve into it a little. Last weekend we didn't have church because of General Conference, I think I mentioned that previously. The weekend before that we didn't go to church because we were visiting my sister and my hubby was hunting. I think we need to recharge our spiritually batteries and then we should be doing better. So, with that said, I am so looking forward to Sunday.

Actually I can't wait for Saturday as well. Since we have church on Sunday and my family is about an hour away we decided to have Easter Sunday on Saturday. Also, Saturday is a very big day in my family. My grandmother will be turning 91 on Saturday. I am so glad that I am here to be able to celebrate with her. She is an awesome person and I am so glad to have her in my life and for my boys to know her.

I guess I should get on with the card right? I haven't been the best crafter lately so I needed something to kinda get me back into the swing of things. I started out making my boys their Easter baskets, they aren't finished, so I decided to check out the Whiff of Joy Challenge for this week. It seemed fun and plus I got to color another beautiful picture again.

Just a quick note before I get to the deets. I saw Nichole Heady mention this on her blog so I went with it. After I colored the girl with my prismacolor pencils I used my PTI snow white ink pad and dabbed it on the image. It softened the colors and I just love how it turned out. Also you probably aren't going to see this on the picture but I did use some Crystal Effects on her mug. I also used a white gel pen for highlighting and some steam coming from her "hot cocoa" mug heheheh ;)

Okay the deets:

paper: PTI SS white, SU! kraft, DCWV hot cocoa aka latte, and more DCWV (don't remember the name)

ink: palette black, PTI white canvas, SU! mellow moss

prima flowers, joann's brads, nestabilities to cut out the circle, cuttlebug floral embossing flower, ek success border punch, and making memories "funky with fibers"

As a side note, my laptop and completely gone capute (sp) so from here on out I am going to be using my desktop until we find out what is wrong or able to get a new one. That means I am not going to be able to do links. If there is something that you want to know how to get to, just ask. That also means that my watermark will not be used unless I am able to email the picture to my sister before posting it here. My desktop is old and cannot handle the requirements for Photoshop. Proud Momma/Friday Sketchers

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I wanted to take a few minutes to brag on my oldest son. Last night was his first T-ball practice. Our family is a huge fan of baseball. I grew up with baseball and watching my brother play little league baseball. Since we lived in southern California we were able to see some Angels (and they will always be the Anaheim Angels to me) and Dodgers games but I think I was more an Angels fan than Dodgers. Then when I met my husband and he grew up a Yankees fan (it was bred into him living in Connecticut). Both of my boys are Yankees fans now and I have been converted to the "dark" side hehehe. I love the Yankees and probably get to find out more info than my husband does about them.
Anyway, when we told my son he was going to be playing T-ball he couldn't be more excited and was always talking about it and wanting to play. Today he got to practice and he had a blast. The good thing too is that there is a little boy that he knows on his team. I am so proud of him and I cannot wait to see him play his first game.
On to my project. I found, thanks to Whimsy stamps, a sketch blog called Friday Sketchers. Whimsy stamps is the host for Friday Sketchers this week. Here is my card I made for it. I love how it turned out. Even my husband gave me kudos on this one.
Here are the deets:
paper: PTI chocolate, stamper's select white, DCWV (green), Making memories (PP).
ink: Palette black
prismacolor pencils and copics
making memories flower and button
jewelry thread.

P.S. Sorry that the post got posted before I had a chance to post pictures. It seems that my laptop doesn't like to run in the mornings and that is when I get to upload everything. I will be working on it later and hopefully figure out what is going on. Also, since my laptop is on the fritz I wasn't able to add my watermark or give you the links to the blogs. I will be putting those up as soon as my laptop is up and running again. Until then here is the URL for whimsy and Friday sketchers.

This week...

Happy Monday everyone!!! As you may have guessed, I have nothing today. Nada, zilch, nothing. It has been a whirlwind of events at my house. I actually need another weekend to recoup from this passed weekend.
I do want to share that thanks to some wonderful people I was able to mellow out and relax and reflect on all that we have. We did not have church this weekend because it was General Conference. I got to listen to most of the talks via the Internet and it was amazing. If I can find a link or quote from one of the speakers I will share it here later. Seriously, what was said made me realize a few things and I am more calm and at peace with what may happen sooner rather than later.
I do have some exciting news to share soon, I hope, as soon as I am able I will share it all with you.
In honor of the good news I am for sure going to have a project to share with you tomorrow. Actually, I am going to get started on that as soon as I am done typing up this post.
I am not sure how often I am going to be able to post today. I knew I was going to have a busy week this week but it got even busier almost the second I woke up today.
My oldest starts his T-ball practices tonight. No biggie, we knew tonight and Wednesday night. Well, since my husband works with my son's coach we found out that not only do we have practice Monday and Wednesday night but we also have a practice Thursday night for the opening ceremonies on, get this, this Friday!!! See what I see, the only night we have open this week is Tuesday. That is fine too but some time this week we have to get into town to get a few things. Now, I think I may have mentioned this before, but, into town is seriously what we do. We live on a military base that is a good 45 min drive from real stores. So, it really is an exciting and long trip to do some normal errands.
On top of that the grass needs to be mowed, badly, and I have projects to get done for church as well as a lesson to prepare for this Sunday. That isn't all of it but I will stop there. My head is already spinning. I have no idea how it will all get done but I know it will. I wouldn't have all this to do if He knew I couldn't get it done.
So, please stop by tomorrow and feast on some wonderful eye candy hehehe!!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Color Throwdown #36

Happy Friday everyone!!! WoooHooo, we have made it to the weekend!!! How exciting is that? Nothing special here. The week is winding down and I have had a bunch of time to relax but no desire to craft. I know, I know, how bad is that? This is why. The desert winds have began. We are expecting gusts upwards of 60 mph. Yeah, gotta love it. With that comes my allergies. I usually don't take anything. I hate taking anything. I have migraines I and try my hardest not to take anything for them as well. But sometimes I just can't do it anymore and force myself to take some Tylenol or Excedrin just to be able to function again. Well, I decided to try some new allergy medicine because the other wasn't working. I had a bad allergy attack last week so I took something, yeah, I just fell asleep instead. This passed weekend I tried a "trial" size of another brand. That one puts me to sleep too, it helped, but ever since I have been fighting with myself not to fall asleep.
But on to the color challenge. Cambria directed me to a blog called "Color Throwdown". Cambria is a co-owner of a stamp company, "Our Craft Lounge", they are awesome. Marianne from "I Like Markers" is their illustrator. Marianne is an awesome artists and I am so glad I got the chance to meet her and the other owners of Our Craft Lounge.
The challenge was to use 3 colors on your card. The 3 colors are turquoise, orange and pink (Our Craft Lounge's company colors).
This was a really hard one for me because those are so not the colors I am comfortable using. So if you have a pair of sunglasses handy you might want to pull them out.
I am very happy with this card though. It is so not my usual style but I had fun using these wonderful colors. I tell you though, it really was a challenge for me.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
