MFT

Happy Friday all!!! It's Friday, It's Friday, It's FRIDAY!!! I tell you I am so excited for this weekend.

My older sister is great and understands that we aren't going to be close forever and takes advantage of us being here. She has taken my boys for the weekend several times now. They love it and it is nice for my husband and I to kinda recharge our batteries. It is a good weekend for us too. My hubby has to test for his rank (a promotion) and next Friday he will test again for the next rank. He is very nervous. So this weekend is good to have the boys gone. Quiet house and plenty of time to study. If you remember please keep him in your prayers next Friday that he does well.
Today I wanted to show you a simple card I made a few days back. I started with some kraft cardstock I had already cut for another card.
My sister told me about the $1 spot at Michael a few weeks back. I took some of the paper I got there to use this card. It really was a 5 minute card but I am very pleased with it.

The pig and "oink" word is from My Favorite Things.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy

Deets:paper: $1 pack at Michaels, SU! kraft cardstock
ribbon: Michael's sale bin
ink: palette black, PTI spring rain and cat's eye chalk ink dark brown
flowers: prima calypso, wal-mart,
brads: queen & co.,
buttons: wal-mart
I also used my brown copic to draw a guide for the dirt pile. The pig was colored using prismacolor pencils and baby oil.

SquiggleFly Hummingbird

Hello Everyone!!! I need to apologize for yesterday. I just woke up in a not so good mood and nothing really helped get me out of it.

Of course I did get some good news that should have helped. I am an aunt for the 6th time over. Hehehe, my goodness. I am really beginning to feel old. That doesn't even count my husbands nieces and nephews. I actually have a niece-in-law that is older than me hehehe, and older than my husband. Can you believe he was an uncle since before he was born?

My brother and his girlfriend welcomed a precious little girl into their family yesterday. I haven't yet been able to see pictures of her but I can't wait and sure she is just adorable.

Well, I promised some eye candy right? Thanks to Lauren, yes I know, totally obsessed. But she is just so talented. I found a up and coming company called SquiggleFly. The owner works with her daughter. It is her daughter that draws these amazing pictures. All of the images are digital. It kinda works like Lauren's templates. Pay for them, get the file, save it and then print to your hearts desire. What is nice is that with the download you get two sizes and mirror images. That doesn't limit you to size though. You can print them out to any size that fits your project.

SquiggleFly has a free download for you to try their images before you buy. How awesome is that? What did I do after visiting Lauren's blog the other day? I went straight to SquiggleFly's website and downloaded the free image. I wasn't sure what kind of image it would be but it was absolutely adoreable. A beautiful hummingbird getting some honeysuckle. I love it and saw so many images I would love to get. I saw a few that would work perfectly for my oldest nieces birthday next month (I cannot believe she is going to be 13, ackkk!!!)

So, there you have it for my card. Simple and elegant. I think it highlights the image beautifully. Interesting colors though if you ask me. Don't ask me how I managed to get these two colors together.

Deets: paper: PTI berry sorbet, joann's light blue cardstock, kodak inkjet printer paper.
stamps: PTI polka dot basics
ink: palette white
ribbon:wal-mart white organdy
extra:prismacolor pencils, self-adhesive pearls, image by SquiggleFly (www.squigglefly.com)

Just a note...

Happy Wednesday!!! I hope it is for you anyway. This is a blah day for me. It feels like it should be Friday or Saturday. I am in no mood to do anything productive today. I have lots of laundry to do, carpets to vacuum and such but have no desire to do any of it.
I do have things to show you but just not in the right frame of mind to post them today. I will do what I can to get passed this and show you something pretty tomorrow.
Until then, please keep my brother and his girlfriend in your prayers.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lauren's Saturday Sketch

Happy Tuesday!!! How was your Monday? Mine didn't turn out half bad. My boys behaved for the most part and the rain stopped so in the afternoon we got to go play on the playground near our house. Playtime didn't last long since I had to get back to get dinner ready but it was fun and we got to spend some time in the fresh air.

Today I am sharing a card I made using Lauren's Saturday sketch. The computer I am using doesn't allow me to add links, sorry. But if you wanted to check Lauren's blog out and you haven't, then there is a link on the right side of my blog. Lauren's blog is called "My time, My Creations, My Stampendous"

I fudged with the sketch just a little. I could have forced the last element in but it just would have ruined the card. I also added the ribbon. I think it makes a very elegant card. I don't think there is anything I don't like about this card.

Also, just wanted to point out in case you didn't notice. The sentiment was sponged on the edges with PTI spring moss and then I used a template from my son's crafts to sponge a butterfly using PTI lemon tart. I just love that look. I also roughed up the edges of the spring moss matting. Very cute. I am so delighted with this card.

Deets:

paper: SU! kraft cardstock, PTI spring moss and stamper's select white, Marcella K PP and Joann's PP;

ink: PTI spring moss, lemon tart and SU! creamy caramel

ribbon: white twill from Michael's

flower: prima calypso tin

button: stash from wal-mart

extra: self-adhesive pearls from Michael's and jewelry string from Michael's

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Lauren's Versatility Box

Happy Monday all!!! I am going to be optimistic that this is going to a wonderful Monday and plan to make it that way hehehe. *Crossing fingers*

I do want to inform you guys that this is going to be a very busy week for me personally. Nothing bad just lots of appointments and such. I still plan on getting projects posted here everyday. I have plenty to show and more I want to do. I am a crafting machine (hehehe) now that I have my stuff in the living room and can craft and be a part of the family at the same time. I so love it. I will be showing a card I made using Lauren's Saturday sketch. I know, I am obsessed. Anyway, I have also been realizing I have used a lot of PTI stamps lately. So, in the next week or so you will be seeing projects from me using all my other stamps. I have them, gotta get my money's worth, right? hehehe

Today, as promised, I have a box that Lauren Meader demoed on her blog last Monday here. Lauren put a lovely $1 planter from Target in hers. I decided to put a tin full of flowers and made it kinda a thank you gift for someone.

Deets: paper: PTI sweet blush, dark chocolate, and Joann's PP; stamps: PTI polka dot basics, paper tray and floral frenzy; ink: PTI ripe avocado, sweet blush, raspberry fizz, spring rain, palette ink black and cat's eye chalk ink dark brown; ribbon: blue Michael's; flowers: wal-mart and prima; brad: Target $1 spot.

I think that is it.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy

P.S. So sorry for the not-so-great photos. I should have taken them the other day when we had sun but now it is all cloudy and not a drop of sunlight in sight. I took these in my bathroom hoping the lighting would be a little better. No such luck. The lighting in my whole house is not the greatest (we are using the "greener" lightbulbs to help the environment).

A basket

Wooohooo!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!! Happy Friday to you all. Got any plans? Nothing special here. After a long busy weekend last weekend I think we are going to stick close to home and recharge our batteries. You just gotta have those sometimes, right?

For today I have something else I am pretty proud of. It is a basket. Yep, thanks to Lauren Meader and her timeless templates and Papertrey Ink for putting them on the market you can now make your own paper basket. And it is just the cutest basket I have seen. I love mine.

Now, this project was not as easy as the other templates I have used of hers. I had to check several times to see just exactly how to put the basket together correctly. But now that I got it figured out I am sure I shouldn't have any problems getting it together again.

Here are the deets: paper: PTI aqua mist and brown from my sisters stash; stamps: PTI believe; ink: SU! Creamy caramel; flowers: walmart and primas; brad: target $1 spot; ribbon: PTI aqua mist; button: stash from walmart; and the "buckle thingie" is from a stash I got from my sister a LONG time ago. It was cut out of brown cardstock using a cuddlebug die.

I have another great project from Lauren on Monday so please come back then and check it out.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

A favorite

Happy Thursday everyone!!! I hope you are having a good day. Today is an okay day. My oldest has his speech class today so I actually have something I have to do and somewhere to be. That is always a bonus for a sahm of little kiddos.

I also want to brag on my husband for a few. He truly is the best husband I could have asked for. Of course we have our disagreements and such but for the most part, a husband that loves me, our boys and can cook and clean? Yep, that is my husband and I love it.

Why I have to brag? Because on Sunday my youngest had a runny nose so we didn't want to take him to church. Since I kinda HAVE to be there he stayed home with our youngest. I took our oldest and headed off to church. By the time I got back some of my craft stuff was out in the living room.

Again, let me preface, since we moved here almost a year and a half ago I have had a piece of the laundry room to craft in. It worked out great because there were a lot of storage but it was out of the way and my boys would inevitably get into something while I tried to craft. Since we have a long living room and using only about half I suggested we move my stuff out here so my boys can play in the room while I craft and can't destroy my house too much hehehe.

I love it. I have gotten more done out here than I ever did in the laundry room. I can't wait to get it all together and organized. Hopefully I can keep it organized from here on out as well hehehe.

So I guess we should get to my project. I made a scrapbook page. I am not going to go into much on the picture because it really is special to me.

The ribbon on the bottom was an idea I took from a friend. She did something like that with her daughters headband. Seriously she makes the cutest headbands for her daughter. I might have to have her make some IF I ever have a daughter hehehe.

The red circle is a coaster that I sponged with pure poppy ink and then stamped with polka dot basics in palette white and stamped the filigree image from silent night in palette black. The heart is also a chipboard I got from Joann's and stamped with a sentiment from a Target stamp and sponged on the edges with black ink.

The stitching on the bottom was hand stitched because my sewing machine doesn't like paper. I just pierced the holes with a guide and basically embroidered with a sewing needle.

I did notice that I wrote the wrong date on the page. I had to fix that.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Here comes...

Wooohooo!!! As usual the cord was right in front of my face. Well, actually it was in a door in the living room that I didn't even think to open. Thank goodness my husband gets to come home for lunch and he knew exactly where the cord was.
So here is the long awaited card hehehe....

Nothing fancy, in fact I am not very fond of it but I wanted to make a point. Some people might not think that their creations are not worth showing online.

I will tell you a little background about my crafting. I started out crocheting and cross-stitching and such. It wasn't until after I was married that my mom and sister started scrapbooking and showed me a few things. I never actually got good at it. I like it but I always put too much into it.
I can't remember when it was now probably between my boys or right after heaving my second son that my mom and sister talked to me about card-making. That I got real into. I ended up loving to stamp. Now, I am still not very good at layouts and such but I have fun and my family and friends seem to think I do an okay job, even so that they are excited when I give them a card.

My goal behind this blog, to get noticed and hopefully be able to get on a design team. Like I said, I work on a budget here so most of my stuff is cheap or limited in supply. Being on a design team would be I get to stamp with brand new stamps and show people how to use them differently. How fun would that be?

But that doesn't mean I am an expert at card-making or stamping for that matter. This is a good example of that.

The deets, PTI white and dark chocolate cardstock; stamps: pti polka dot basics, paper tray, silent night, ambassador monogram edition, and boxes, bags, and tags; ink: palette white and dark brown, pti ocean tides; eyelet from SU!; and ribbon from Michael's dollar section, oh and the self-adhesive crystals.

I think that is it. I gotta something I really liked to show you tomorrow so I hope to see you then.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Missy

I do have something to post...

I promise. It seems though that my husband has hidden the cord for the camera, whether he believes it or not. I can't find it. I did take the pictures though so as soon as I get the cord in my grubby little hands I will post the card that I made last week. I have a couple projects for you the next couple of days and I hope to have even more ready to post on here. So please keep checking back.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

LOOONG weekend

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. I am not posting anything crafty although I do have some stuff to show you. I just haven't had the time to get some good pictures.
My husband was able to get Friday thru Monday off. Since we haven't seen very much of what California has to offer we decided that since we have a 4-day weekend might as well take advantage of it, right?
Friday afternoon we drove down to San Diego. What should have taken about 3 hours took us 6. Oh my heavens, the traffic was just simply horrific. I wasn't a happy camper but my boys did wonderfully. Apparently we weren't the only ones with the idea to head to San Diego for the weekend. But the hotel keeper told my husband that there was a motocross show going on as well as an international rugby tournament. And we thought we were going at a time where it would be secluded.
So, we get to the hotel, get settled, go get some dinner and then come back to relax and get some sleep. Again, the boys are wonderfully behaved but we all stay up til about 11pm. That is not good when you have a full day ahead of you.

Luckily my boys were so excited to go to Sea World that it didn't matter. All of us have never been there before (technically I have but I was still in my mommy's tummy hehehe). It was an awesome experience and I would recommend it for ANYONE young or old. And young and old were all there that day. Again, who goes to Sea World on Valentine's Day? I guess a lot of people. The workers kept saying they were expecting a LOT of guests that day. That is fine though because for the most part everyone was very kind and courteous while we were there.
We got to see the dolphin show right off. Then we headed towards Shamu to get into that show. I gotta tell you, both of those shows are really awesome and very entertaining. I loved them both. What is great too is that Sea World honors the military and they had the military stand up before the Shamu show in honor of all they do for us. It was absolutely terrific.
From there we just went for place to place trying to get everything in. My boys got to feed some dolphins. That part is very pricey but so much fun for the kiddos. I would pay it again for them in a heartbeat. We did miss a few things but it was time to head home as we weren't sure how long it would take us to get back home after the long drive down. Seriously, if you get the opportunity to go, go, it was just awesome. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy. I will be back tomorrow with some eye candy.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Vanlentine and news

Happy Thursday you all!!! I hope you had a great day yesterday. I had a wonderful day. My younger sister made me an Aunt for the um...5th time over. She is my best friend (next to my husband) and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her. That is why I feel so horrible that I wasn't there when she had any of her kids. I did get to go visit shortly after she had her second child but other than that no.
I was so overcome with emotions that I started crying while on the phone with her. Isn't that horrible? She was concerned for me but really it truly was because I was just so happy. I sit her typing this getting tears in my eyes again.
Let's get on with the card, shall we? This way maybe I can put my emotions in check :) I finally sat down to make a card for my husband for Valentine's Day. We have no special plans but taking our boys to Sea World. Now it has been raining off and on for quite a while now and it may rain on Saturday while we are there but we are hoping it won't be too bad. Besides, how many people will really go to Sea World while it is raining?
When I woke up this morning I had an idea in my head. Mainly because I got some PTI goodies in the mail yesterday. I love getting mail. I was going to use spring rain, vintage cream and true black. But this morning I starting rummaging through blogs and noticed some people had used ocean tides. I have it but I don't think I had every used it. So I substituted spring rain for ocean tides.
I used guide lines, polka dot basics and my new stamp set I got yesterday (the very first stamp set by PTI) Paper Tray. I actually also used Gina K.'s stamp set Whimsical Autumn.
I also took some more faux stitching (rub-ons) and a bunch of buttons from a bag I bought at wal-mart (I think). The cardboard flower is from Michael's dollar stash and the paper flower is either from Michael's or Joann's.
I really should find a way to write this stuff down so I can be sure I am not lying to you. Or at least know what I am talking about so in case you guys want to know I can tell you for sure.
Well, that is it. It isn't the card I had in my head when I woke up this morning but it is the card I ended up with. I am pleased with it.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Going Nuts

Happy Tuesday!!! This is a little late because my older guy has speech this morning. But I did want to get on here and finally show you a project I made last week that I have been dying to show you. I checked Nichole's blog before starting this to make sure there were no challenges on there. Well, there is but not something I need to post here. If you want to win a very adorable craft made my Nichole and the design team go to Nichole's blog and enter your guess.

While doing some blog surfing last week I came across a lady's blog (sorry I cannot remember who it was) who directed me to splitcoaststampers and a tutorial to make a gable box. I have never made a gable box but get in a rut making cards so why not do something else every once in a while, right?

So, I set to make a gable box. I want to preface this by saying that I am limited in my supplies because not only am I cheap but my husband is military and I don't work so my supply budget is limited so I went with what I had.

Really the only thing I was missing was the oval punch. I went to the next best thing I have, a small circle punch. I think it turned out just adorable and would make them over and over again this way.

The cardstock is PTI vintage cream stamped with polka dot basics in spring rain.`I secured the box closed with a clip I bought through oriental trading post and some Michael's ribbon. The sentiment if from PTI's "my punny valentine" stamp set and was stamped using cat's eye brown chalk ink on vintage cream and I sponged the edges with spring rain. That was matted on PTI's dark chocolate cardstock. The flowers are some I had in my stash, sorry can't remember where they are from. I sewed on the buttons by hand.

The main image is also from my punny valentine. I used vintage cream and brown chalk's eye to stamp the squirrel. I just love how he turned out. It makes him look all fuzzy and adorable. The nut is also from the same set. It was stamped using SU! creamy caramel and cat's eye chalk ink on vintage cream and then cut out and adhered to the image using a pop dot.

Oh yeah, the squirrel was stamped on kraft cardstock. I started with dark chocolate cardstock and to add some more color used some PP I got from target a while back from Marcella K (I just love that paper pack) and then the image was secured on top of that.

I think that is it. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

P.S. Do you like my picture staging? hehehe

I'm lying for Papertrey ink goodies...

LOL!!! I am going to clarify myself, don't worry. First off, how is everyone's Monday going? I hope it is better than mine. What a way to start a short week, huh? Let's see...this morning I did NOT want to get out of bed. It has been raining here for about a week. I don't mind the rain but after a while it gets so depressing. I am so tired, I have no idea why. My hubby and I actually went to bed earlier than normal last night and I am still drained.

But I do get out of bed, go take a shower while the hubby is still home to watch my boys and bam...I feel so sick to my stomach. I thought maybe it was because I may have gotten soap in my mouth but I still feel icky some 3 hours later. So, it is Monday, I feel sick, it is raining outside so my boys can't go outside to get some energy out. That means they are stuck inside destroying my house and driving me beyond crazy, gotta love Mondays.

But onto why I "lied" again on this blog. I mentioned on Friday that I had some awesome goodies I wanted to show you because I just LOVED how it turned out. But I am so wrapped up in the PTI giveaways on Nichole Heady's blog that I am going to wait on that and show you something for a cool giveaway.

Nichole has introduced a new product they are starting up and a new stamp set she has created. To enter to win all you have to do is go to her blog and comment about your best friend anything and everything. For an extra chance to win you can make a friendship card and post a link to it on her blog as well.

What do you win for all your effort? Two sets of her stamps and two of the new kits that she has introduced. Why two? To send one to your friend and one to keep. How cool is that?

I am going to start off by saying, I have never really had a BFF. A really good friend that I turned to for anything and everything. I am good at making friends just not GOOD let's do everything together kinda friends. I am more of a homebody and like spending time with my family.

So right now my BEST friend is my husband. There really isn't anything I keep from him. He understands everything about me. He may not always like it but he understands. He supports me in my efforts and builds me up when I need it. I truly couldn't have asked for someone better to be my life partner and one day my eternal companion. I love him with all my heart.

BUT for this particular project I chose to make a card for my younger sister. We have gotten really close. I think almost dying together can make that happen.

She would be the first person I run to for advice or kind words or whatever I may need. I remember staying up til the wee hours of the morning laying in bed talking to her in the dark. We would talk about boys, once we even snuck some into our house. We understand each other. We may not always agree on things but we know that it will happen and choose to agree to disagree. I don't know what I would do without her.

So, here is the card I made for her. Now, if I had been thinking about it when I made this card I would have made it green because that is her favorite color but I grabbed this piece I had in my stash and went with it. And of course, when talking about friends what stamp set do you use? Well, if you are me you grab "Floral Frenzy". If you haven't noticed I just LOVE that set.

Now, I have no idea what the rest of the anniversary/birthday celebrations PTI will be hosting from now until the 15th release but you better believe I will be participating.

I just realized that my family and I will be going out of town on the 13th and won't be back til the wee hours of the night on the 14th so those two days I shouldn't have anything to show you but that could change.

We are made the decision that we are taking the long 4 day weekend (gotta love the military life for some things) and taking our boys to Sea World. None of us have been so it should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Getting sketchy with Papertrey Ink

Okay, I lied. I know, you aren't supposed to do that. I didn't mean to lie. It just happens that I haven't been paying much attention to the outside world as much as I thought I was.

We had some "fun" errands to run today. One of those included returning a tupperware container to my sister. This is when I found out about a sketch challenge that PTI was hosting on their blog (technically Nichole Heady's blog but you understand, right?)

If you haven't been there you really need to check it out. Since my linky button isn't working here is her web address: http://www.nicholeheady.typepad.com/

Okay, she has introduced PTI's two new colors and boy do I LOVE the new green. I can't wait to try it out.
The sketch is to win a spool of every ribbon put out by PTI last year and the new ribbons coming out on the 15th of this month. Can you say ribbon heaven?!?!?!

On Nichole's blog she gives you a link. You have to visit it, print it out and play dot-to-dot. Fund times, right. Well, I thought so anyway. Here is my creation from the sketch. I hope you likie.
As you can see I went very simple with this one. I really like how easy it all came together. I was trying to stick with all PTI but you may have realized that there is some other companies in there but since there isn't many elements there isn't many companies.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Papertrey Ink contest, around the rainbow

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Wooohooo!!! We made it. Can you tell I am so happy. This is a great day. I am so excited. Nothing really going on just so excited to have a weekend upon us to enjoy. Plus, next week is a 4 day week and my hubby gets 4 wonderful days off. Isn't that wonderful? hehehe

So most of you have probably come here to check out my card. It isn't quite how I pictured it in my head but this is what I came up with and I am pretty happy with it.

I used PTIs summer sunrise and vintage cream cardstock. The blue cardstock is probably Joann's that I found in my stash.

The main image was sponged around the edges first with ripe avocado and then I rubbed the sponge all over to give it the feel of being a green cardstock. I like how it turned out better than if it had done what I thought in my head.

The blue ribbon is from Target and the red was a Michael's find.

I used PTIs "Polka dot basics", "Floral Frenzy" and "Pond Life" stamp sets. I know, where is the pond life, right? The stems are actually a stamp I found in "Pond Life". I just bent it to either side to make the bent stems. I love acrylic stamps :)

The mini polka dots were stamped in summer sunrise and then I used ripe avocado to make the bigger circles around the dots. Then I took pure poppy and sponged the edges of that strip.

The flowers were stamped using spring rain, pure poppy and summer sunrise. The centers I used a cat's eye chalk ink for. You can't see it but I took my clear glitter pen and colored in all the petals on all 3 flowers. It really adds just a little umph to the card, right?
Also, with sponging the background first and then adding the image somehow it turned a little watercolory (I know it isn't a word) to me and I LOVE that. I am going to have to try some of this stuff again on another card or project.

What do you think, did I get my mojo back? I am not sure but I have been very pleased with my projects lately.

Well, I think that is it. I got something I really like to show you on Monday. I cannot wait.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Reposting

I know I just posted this yesterday but it might have gotten bypassed because of the altered bag, papertrey ink giveaway. I just wanted to make sure everyone saw my digi-scrapping attempt of my little guy.
I plan on doing the same thing for my 5 year old so as soon as I have some time to get that done I will get it posted. It probably won't be until next Monday because this weekend may prove to be quite busy.
We are heading down to visit a little with my family tomorrow and errands of course. It wouldn't be a "real" Saturday if we didn't have a bunch of errand we have to run.
Sunday is going to be busy, yep, church but I will be pulling double duty this Sunday. Not only do I have to do my "normal" job in Primary with the kiddos but I also have to go teach a class in Relief Society. This one makes me nervous because there are going to be some women in there that are responsible for us and a lot of other women. They are called the Relief Society Stake Presidency. I am sure they ALL know more about the subject than I do so I am sure they will realize if I made a mistake. But the best part of teaching is learning, right?
Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, go here and see my page.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Papertrey Ink Altered Bag

Hello Again everyone!!! If you haven't seen my digi post already today then be sure to check it out after reading this post.
If you may not have noticed I have a LOT of Papertrey Ink supplies, stamps, ink, ribbon, cardstock, etc. Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 2nd anniversary of being in business. To help celebrate not only are they giving away the entire year of stamps to a lucky winner but they are also giving away a bag with a $100 gift certificate to use in their online store.
If you haven't been to Papertrey before then you so need to check them out. The website is easy...www.papertreyink.com. One of the co-owners, Nichole Heady, also has a blogged called "Capture the Moment" her things are really inspired and inspiring.
To win the bag and gift certificate one needs to alter a bag, it can be a bag already made or you can come up with your own bag design. Post it to your online gallery or blog and then link back to it on Nichole's blog.
This is what I came up with. There are a few things I would change given the chance. I do no like how the fun ended up all the way at the top. But I do love all the elements I brought into it. Maybe I am getting my mojo? and then some, huh? Who knows, whatever happened I hope it stays with me for a long time.
The hearts were stamped using a PTI stamp sets, "My Punny Valentine" in SU! Mellow Moss, certainly celery and Palette ink lavender sachet. For the solid heart I used PTI raspberry fizz and just rubbed it in the ink. The ribbon is PTI stitched sweet blush. The background lavender cardstock was stamped with PTI stamp set, "Polka Basics" in raspberry fizz and mellow moss.
The flowers, brads and buttons were all purchased at either Joann's or Michaels and are the respective brands, oh and the hearts are chipboard that was purchased at Joann's and the same brand.
The PP was just some that I found in my stash of cardstock not being used. The buttons were hand sewn to the ribbon and cardstock. It was actually easy peasy. I just love how it all turned out. I hope you do as well.

P.S. Don't forget to check out the last post that shows off my youngest son done digitally.

Digi-scrapping my boys

Happy Thursday you all!!! It wasn't a good day yesterday. My hubby woke up with a stomach bug. My oldest had it last Friday but nothing since. I guess it took that long for the bug to get to him.

We did try to keep busy. There wasn't much for me to do around the house now that I have been doing better about keeping up with things.

Since I had the evening to myself I figured I would try to digi-scrap again. Doing my banner inspired me. And since my printer is out of ink and my digital camera printer needs paper I figured I would just digi-scrap, show it here and then when I can I can have them printed and put into a book that way.

I love these pictures I took of my youngest. He turned 3 in Dec. We tried getting him in to JCPenney to have his birthday pictures taken but he didn't want to have anything to do with it. He actually hates taking pictures. That is why I am so surprised that I got these. One afternoon I just decided to get one of the boy's bed sheets out and lay it off the back of my love seat.

He refused to change into the clothes I wanted him to wear so I got pictures of him in what he was wearing that day. I am sure my mother-in-law would not be too happy with the shirt he is wearing but at least it is a good picture of him.

All of the elements used on the page were from scrapblog.com. That is an awesome website. I have said it before but I will say it again. If you haven't checked it out I would seriously suggest it. They have the option of building the whole page from scratch or using a template they have on their site already. I built this one from scratch as well as my banner and I just LOVE how they turned out.

Butterfly birthday

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! It is the middle of the week. We are half way there.

Mom, if you haven't received your birthday card yet then look away now!!! Hehehe

This is the card I made my mom for her birthday last Sunday. I started with Amy Rysavy's Friday sketch for last Friday and went from there. I am not sure how much it looks like the sketch now but if you go to her blog you can check it out. I have a link to her blog on the right side of mine. Her blog is Prairie Paper & Ink.

My mom likes red so I wanted to go with that. I used Poppy red from PTI. Actually, other than the butterflies (which are from Verve Stamps) everything is PTI as usual. I really need to start spreading my stamping wings, right?

The PP is a stash I picked last Valentines (I think) at the Target dollar spot. I used stickles on the butterfly wings and self-adhesive pearls from Michael's to bling up the card a bit. The sentiment and berry are from PTI's My Punny Valentine stamp set. The white and pink cardstock are PTIs, white and sweet blush.

As always thanks for stopping by!!!

Birthday boy

Hello All!!! I told you I would be back today with some eye candy hehehe. I have so much to do today and no time to get it all done. Actually, I don't have the enthusiasm to do a lot of it either, housework, ugh!!!

I did promise you some eye candy so I set out this morning to get something done for you. Of course this morning I remembered that my nephew's birthday is right around the corner. Unfortunately I am a bad aunt and can't remember exactly which day is his. I know it is either the 10th or 11th of this month.
I started out planning to used some C.C. Designs stamps but that didn't work out. I started with some PTI aqua mist cardstock. I wanted to find some PP to match and then remembered a PP pack I bought a while back at Target when it was on sale. It is by Marcella K. I took two different patterns from the pack to make this card.

The cardstock I matted the main image and sentiment on is PTI spring moss.

The main image and sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio. I just love Billy. Isn't he just the cutest little boy you ever did see? I so need to get some more of his stamps. I want to get Lily too before my nieces grow up and don't care for the little girl stuff anymore. After all, my nieces are 12 (going on 13), 4, and 1. They will be all grown up before you know it.

My nephew who is having a birthday soon will be 4 (oh gosh, I hope that is right too). Seriously guys, I used to have such a great memory then I got old and the family expanded, whew, too many people hehehe. No, there is never too many people in a family (that is my opinion though).

Wow did I get off topic or what?

The button in the corner I found in a stash of buttons I bought at the dollar section somewhere. The ribbon (which I hope isn't too girlie) is Aqua Mist from PTI and the brad is one in my stash that I believe I got at Joann's forever ago. I intended to color Billy in with my primsacolor pencils to make it more calm like the colors of the card but I just had to use my copics. I think it makes the image stand out that much more.

I think it turned out really cute, don't you? Well, I hope you do like it and that you have a great Tuesday!!! We shall see you tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Superbowl fun and a birthday wish

I know this is very, very late. But I really had to get some things done today. And sadly, I am still not done with what I had planned for today. Vacuuming and more laundry (there is always laundry to do now that my youngest is almost 100% potty-trained). My son just gets so into playing, or eating or whatever he is doing that sometimes he forgets or just doesn't want to stop to go potty. I love the potty-trained part (Thank you to my sister) but the transition from diapers to potty-trained fully is a pain in the hiney. Do you think that he can go potty on his own? Of course not, although he knows what is supposed to be done he still refuses to go. He always needs help.
I do want to say before anything else. Happy day late birthday MOM!!! My mom's birthday was yesterday Feb. 1st. I wish we could have shared the day with you. I hope you had a wonderful day.
It is also a special day for me. 12 years ago yesterday, the first, my dad, 3 siblings, and I were baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I hold that close to my heart now that I completely understand the meaning of that moment. I pray that I can continue to uphold the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father from now until forever.
But I mentioned the Superbowl in my title, right? Well, as I may have mentioned before, my sister and her family drove up to watch the game with us after church, thank goodness for morning church meetings.
None of us are big football fans and neither of the teams are teams we even watch a little during the season. Our plan was just to have fun together, eat some good food and hang out. We actually watched most of the game. Now, I have always been partial to the underdogs in a game that I have no real loyalties to. Yesterdays Superbowl game was no exception. Both my husband and I assumed the Steelers were going to win but did hope that the Cardinals could pull it off.
Boy did they almost do that too. I am so amazed at how well their offense played. They did so good and I so thought they were going to win it with 2:30 left in the game. But I also knew that 2 and a half minutes is a long time for the other team to score. And score they did. It was an awesome Superbowl game and I am so glad it wasn't all one-sided like it started out to be.
I know that the Cardinals could have pulled it off but I do feel like their defense wasn't playing like they should have. The Cardinals were all one-sided in the fact that the offense was the one doing most of the plays for them.
Anyway, that is the only reason I came on here today. I have been busy cleaning up after the get together and such. I will be sure to show you some eye candy tomorrow. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!!!
